This is a museum not far north of my current residence. Key System #187, a standard-gauge self-propelled coach, uses couplers I recognize from the current BART broadgauge (as probably did the Oakland, Antioch & Eastern both as an independent and as part of the WP's Sacramento Northern division), while SN locomotive #604 uses the standard knuckle couplers.
In a sense, yes. Not long before this, the museum completed the restoration of Sacramento Northern Interurban car number 1005. The museum also has two other Interurban coaches that can be assembled into a complete trainset. In order to make the room for the three cars to be coupled and stored together as a unit, other pieces of equipment needed to be shuffled around to make room in the climate-controlled Car House 3.

Lucky I was there in Febuary. Took the tour of the building that stores all the preserved equipment.
Is this so that cars are in the correct place for future excursion running?
