If you are talking about curses persisting in the life of a born again child of God, then this is clearly a wrong teaching and absolutely un-biblical. Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit". Galatians 3: 13, 14 says, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curses of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith". The scripture cannot be more crystal clear about this subject. Yes a person can go back into a life of bondage, that is exactly what Paul was bemoaning in relation to the Galatians. They started their life in faith, but they were bewitched (Galatians 3: 1 - O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you....) into once again trying to please God through works of law and not by faith in Christ Jesus. If you're in Christ, you are blessed. When I talk about blessing, it should not be construed as material blessings: I talk about the amazing spiritual blessings that have already been delivered to us in heavenly realms (to understand this one must read the first 3 chapters of the book of Ephesians).
I completely agree with Sam Varughese. Rev M. A. Varughese should read his Bible carefully to know that there is no condmenation to those who are in Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus Christ has bought us out of the curse of the Law by Himself becoming a curse for us by His atoning death on the cross. Christ has set us free from the Law by Himself fulfilling it and abolishing the Law, established a New Covenant written in our hearts. Some church leaders want to keep their flock under perptual captivity by talking about curses all the time. It is time the believers realise the truth. M. Varughese, Kochi
