He can sing but he should stick to Boyzone. This is one of my favourite songs and quite often songs are ruined by covers...Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen (although Jeff Buckley's is superb), Better by Tom Baxter (NOT Boyzone) and Home by Michael Buble (not Westlife). The Goo Goo Dolls are superb artists and Ronan Keating has earned the right to be an artist, but can't he do his own songs?
That are songs that don't deserve a cover and Iris fron Goo Goo Dols is one of them. It doesn't have the power and the spirit of that song. I am a Boyzone fan since the beginning, but I don't like the fact they used to make covers and not write songs of their own. Their own songs are more interesting than the covers they made.
i gotta be honest - i know ronan is the cover version master since boyzone split - but he actually did a pretty good job of this. makes a change from him ripping off garth brooks and then claiming each new song is 'his'!
This guy sings good, but vocals not the only thing that makes a musician. It's creativity, and passion. Sing your own songs unless given permission buddy. It's good, but the original is GOD like.

Ronan Keating is good, his song, 'When you say nothing at all' is a favorite of mine, but I'd pick the original 'Iris' 10 million times over this. It was so much better, and has a real soul. i think this version is more beautiful.. wel its makes u cry when he sang it.. ur emotions seem to come back to you when u heard this song.. wel no offense, googoo dolls sings it beatifully too.. they are both professionalS so, no problem who's singing it..

@iwannab0123 Actually, the song belongs to the Goo goo dolls band and was written for the City of angels movie. I don't know why the title is iris... Maybe it wants to emphasize how much the girl in the movie meant for the main actor... being like "the apple of his eye" or the iris :)

Goo Goo Dolls was what i played when me and my ex broke up, but this version is what i played when i thought of our good times... either way 'Iris' is an amazing song and i love both versions equally as they have different moods to it
