Well apparently you don't know shit about how it rides. If you compare exactly the same bike with and without the KIS System, the KIS will indeed make the bike handle better in any situation. If you compare a canyon without KIS to a bike that performs better than this bike, the KIS won't change that. It just makes a canyon a bit better, but it's never counter steering against you, that's what can tell you after testing that shit in 2023.
I agree with you completely. I already have a steering stabilizer on my cargo bike. It makes sense on a cargo bike as the loads can make the front wheel unstable but not on a MTB or DH bike. Mine makes it more difficult to make sudden sharp turns as it fights my input.
Well I just came from a ride today and here's how I see it: I think the K.I.S would only be usefull in one situation wich is on drops, because sometimes when I pull for the drop, my handlebars go a bit sideways and I naturally fall sideways and it's really scary. But of course it's only from my experience... Let me know what you think of my idea!
A little bit late to the party. We have 2025, and you talking about stuff that happend 4 years ago. 2022 bike media, and youtube made thousand of reviews to the KIS-system. And the overall opinion is, that has a positive effect on the bikehandling, but it is not a must have. Why didnt you watch or read one of the thousand reviews before making your own opinion. you didnt understood what the KIS-system is for. There are sooooo much inovative systems every year. All have good effects and heve great reviews. Offset bushings/flip ship, high pivot bikes, ethirteen Sidekick, elektric sram eagle XO, O-chain, chain wax, high raise bars and stem, schwalbe radial tires, mass dampers ....... Most of them add more moving parts. But the bike industrie rarely picking up new things because the customers are always sceptical. And thats ok. But why hating something you didnt look into.
What I find most upsetting in this video is learning that a full compression results in rear wheel rub. That is a troubling design flaw, imo. Are you using extra plump tires? Or did you put an out-of-spec shock on? If not, that just shouldn't happen.
@ slopeduro is a madup term from people who ride their mountainbike in a dirt park. If i take my hardtail into the mountains it doent become a DH-tail. And freeride is riding on in remote locations, away from trails, or down hugh mountainside. For freeride you want and need a beefy fork. Barspins is not a thing in mountainbiking. Show me one pro mtb rider who do barspins? I AM WAITING
Canyon makes Bullshit claims about the KIS system. The inventor of KIS Jo Klieber has a more in depth explanation on what it's actualy supposed to do. The main effects are: - helping a flopped wheel return to its original center postion by assisting in lifting the rider + bike's weight - creating a feel for what the rear wheel is doing in relation to the front The first aspect is more relevant for bikes with slack head angles, as wheel flop generally get worse. This way you can have the benefits of a slack HA while minimizing its drawbacks. The second effect is noticeable on loose terrain or when going fast. It gives a sensation for when the wheel starts to slip and some claim that it helps to navigate truns faster. Why Canyon would spec KIS on their current bikes is questionable, but it not fair to say that the technology is irrelevant, especially when you didn't do any research. The stabilizing effect is minimal compared to the forces that the rider puts into the handlebars and the effects form fork trail. Still, with more refinement this technology could prove interesting for some cases.
Yeah there is a few upsides like you mentioned about no handers and pushing with only the seat but I agree that the cons outweigh the pros in terms of noise and maintenance and pros losing the ability to bar spin. ❤
The maintanance is literally cents in parts, and easily accessable without. Noise is basically 0. You will hear the wind way louder. Weight is gramms. Your phone is heavier. You can set the tension and it helps keeping your bars stable during DH, thus allowing for actually more delicate steering. I recommend watching Seth's video (BermPeak)
Hey Canyon, how about first making a battery latch that works, a battery casing that doesn’t crack, and a frame stronger than an overcooked noodle? This might seem like a small thing, but the fact that this nonsense got released is a symptom of big issues at Canyon.
More german bs, just like the acros headsets, ignore them and let them go bankrupt, and has for the canyon support, well they are the reason why I'm not getting another canyon, because the bike in general was decent but the support wrecked the experience
The quintessential "Solution in search of a problem". The _last_ thing I want on a sketchy trail is steering that fights against me.

It's ironic that something using "KIS" as its acronym is adding more complexity to the bike's component profile. 😂

I build one for my own because I am an engineer and see the the advantages. Riding it for almost 2 years now.

There are lots of things that bike companies have tried that have been failures.
Some people can take advantage.
Couldn’t agree more

yeah I agree and what if you want to do barspins ?
you dont do barspins on a mountainbike. you thinking of another sport.
@@eve-llblyat2576 yes of course you do
it's called slopeduro or freeride

Won't it pull the back end around a bit weird (even more so when in the air) when you steer/turn the handlebars??

This deserves way more likes

no barspin ??
i dont understand why anyone would willingly go out and buy a canyon
Sounds like something you'd give a beginner biker that's disabled. That's gonna be a no from me.

Classic solution looking for a problem crap. Are these people just running out of ideas?
Really, you make a video about something you haven't tried ?
i get where youre coming from but if you havnt tried your opinion does mean much
Why are there no likes on this?!
unless ur on a motorbike going down a road, this is useless
Yet more crap we didnt ask for nor do we need it.
