Dear Gopaji, Thankyou so much for this. One question- in classical I can sing till taar saptak pa but in film songs starting from C scale my voice sounds strained and not very melodious. Do you think it might be a voice projection/ throw issue?

Very nice explanation.
I feel that if we want to sing any song. Let us first identify the range of highest and slowest notes in that song. Find the highest note that you can comfortably sing in that song.. Accordingly select the scale of that song..
This is the best scale for your voice to sing that song instead of trying to sing neat the original scale of that song.
