born a dodger fan bc of my Dad, my grandma saved me from that evil path when in 1992 she wrote a couple letters to Will Clark to get me his autograph. didn't work so she sent like 20 bucks and that didn't work either. then she sent him one of my little league team pics and he then sent an autographed pic with a little hand written note back. GIANTS FAN FOR LIFE
That’s awesome! What’d the note say?
Never trade a true warrior like Will Clark. Best Giant ever /// I still get goosebumps watching replays......that's how good he was.... CLASS ACT ...........
I love Will Clark. Not only did he deserve a World Series Championship ring but also to have his number retired. Long time Giants fans miss him badly.
The Giants announced yesterday they will retire #22 next season. Long overdue in my opinion
Yes! I saw that. Finally getting the recognition he long deserved. What a shame the Giants were so tight with the money they let him go to another team. He should have been a life-long Giant.
Peace Frog I agree he played well for Texas, Baltimore and St. Louis but he left his heart in San Francisco
Will was my childhood hero. Everything for me was about Will Clark. I miss watching him play. I miss those younger days.
Same here. Topps ‘86
@@darkheartlightsoul My very first baseball card that I bought from a card shop was Will Clarks 1987 tops rookie card. Number 420. I didn't know what that number meant back then. But it is still engraved in my memory. I think I bought it for $5. I still have his 1987 Fleer rookie card. I got it from my dad for Christmas a LONG time ago. Back when it was worth like $35.
Him and jeff kent have been disrespected as far as hall of fame votes
He will always be a great giant forever
My all-time favorite player of all time. That game face was the best. He will all ways be the thrill to me. I never was more disappointed when the Giants didn't resigned him.
Man this is bringing back memories. Among all the great, legendary Giants Will is my favorite. I was too young to see Mays, McCovey etc, but Will came up when I was young and he was my guy. I remember listening on the radio to that last NLCS game while working construction at 16 years old. We all took a break and listened to those final two innings, it was amazing. Too bad the World Series didn't end up well, but it may have been different without the Earthquake, sigh.
Will Clark was the soul of the Hum Baby Giants! Sweetest swing ever.
I remember him on those Johnny Oates teams in texas in the late 90s
I remember being so mad and terribly disappointed when the Giants didn't keep Will here in San Francisco. I really hated seeing Will NOT wearing a Giants uniform. It just wasn't right.
Now his #22 is officially retired and sets just to the left of #24 Willie Mays, who was my first baseball hero when I was just a little kid.
Still think the thrill has the Hall of Fame numbers. Career 300 hitter, nearly 300 HR. 6 time allstar. Only 15 seasons.
I remember him on texas in those lethal lineups
@@ericsigersmith6067 he turned that team around.
I loved how he had that cool frown or scowl at the plate. It made him seem more intimidating.
Will the Thrill made everyone around him better. Tremendous motivator.
Thank you Mike Krukow for mentioning the Fresno Giants, San Francisco's class A farm team since they came from New York in 1958 till they moved to San Jose in 1988. I used to paint the advertisements on the field walls and met many a great Giant on their way to the bigs and I can tell you that Will's first Minor league(professional)at bat, was no different than his first Major league at bat.
if I remember correctly. Will Clark and Mark Grace hit OVER 500 in that NLCS.
I effen love Will , I was a lefty hitter so I tried to emulate his swing,. I just loved his intensity and love for the game. Great Ball player. Humm Baby....
Another favorite of mine was Bob Brenley who also had to endure that 100 game loss season back then. Great player, great manager, and a great human being.
And, of course, the Thrill!
I had two favorite players growing up Lou Gehrig and Will Clark
Best gameface I ever saw... bar none.
Damn... it's a little bittersweet to see Alex Smith and Jim Harbaugh playing in that golf game...
This video is just chock-full of people who I wish had won a championsip :/
Classic
Atleast the giants got some rings I'm a red Sox fan I just love baseball history
I STILL have an electric guitar I made with the '89 Championship series team logos on the front and Will's baseball card also(Sandberg's on the Cubs side)❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nobody had a goofier look at the plate than that Will Clark. Bug eyed with a chaw between the cheek and gum.
2 dudes without a ring and legends at the same time
00:09 my man got knocked TFO.
😂 I thought so too. Looked like a WWE wrestler getting hit.
I think Tom Seaver comparing him to Don Mattingly is perfect.
Don Mattingly career WAR: 42.4 in 14 years
Will Clark career WAR 56.5 in 15 years
My first Clark was Jack… my second was Will!!
This must have been filmed a while back since Alex Smith is still on the 49ers
Damn I love Chili Davis
He popped his gum like he was trying to seduce people. 11:56 .. what was with all of the gum blowing and sucking? Lol
