Cole you're wrong man you are more in love with your fishing rod than you are with Jay. That's wrong dude she was looking out for you and told you that there was tornado like weather coming and you threw your rod out again. Shame on you.
Another fun video. Thanks for taking us along! We love you both! I can see you all love each other deeply and have a beautiful family started. What a blessing to be able to do this to support this family...Successfully ! You guys are the best. You're good people. God bless all here.

My brother and I used to fish Lake Poygan in Wisconsin, it a pretty big lake being 22 miles long, and 5 miles wide, but the deepest point is only 18 feet, we used an aluminum boat and an old green outboard that we called the one a day, ( if we could get it to start easily once a day we were lucky) the lake is pretty open and I've seen it go from dead flat, to waves '4 to '6 feet in as little as 10 seconds, so it pays to keep a sharp eye on the weather. One day we were out some distance from the cabin when I noticed that black clouds were raising pretty fast to the southwest, so I told my brother to reel in as we'd best be getting off the lake, but my brother said why? The fish are biting, so let's get enough for supper. Well just seconds after he said it I began to see lightning, and a herd of dairy cows on shore hightailed it to the barn I reeled in and reached for the engine cord, to my amazement it started on the first pull, and we headed in before we got two hundred yards, the wind came up, the waves kicked up, and a funnel cloud appeared at the West end of the lake. By the time we got in front of the cabin it was so rough that we had two choices, we couldn't try to pull up at the pier because the waves were washing over it, and if we tried we'd get thrown into the rock rip rap. So we would either have to try for the public landing next to the cabin ( it wasn't much, just a gravel road that ran into the lake) or for a channel that was a half mile away, the funnel cloud, looked like it was headed our way, so the channel was out, so I hit the tilt release for the motor, gunned it and headed for the landing just before we hit the shallows I yanked the motor up, and let our momentum carry us up on shore, my dad and my grandfather, grabbed the bow, and carried us up a few more feet we jumped out and hit the cabin, fortunately the funnel cloud stayed to the far side of the lake, and no damage was done, other than a lot of people who got the H scared out of them. But this story doesn't end there, years later I stopped at a tavern on the northwest side of Chicago to grab something to eat and a beer, and I got into a conversation with a group of guys, that were planning a late season trip to Poygan to fish the fall walleye run, I warned them of how volatile the weather could be, particularly that late into the season, and urged them to use extreme caution. A week later I stopped back into that same tavern, and the place went dead quiet, a friend of mines dad owned the place, and my friend was tending bar, so I asked him, if I had done something wrong, he replied, " didn't you hear? The guys you warned about Poygan, didn't listen and they are all dead! It turned out that the three men I warned, and two others had gone out of a resort on the West end of the lake, all five of them were in a single '17 foot open boat, a bad storm moved in( it was late November) and the boat capsized, none of the occupants was wearing a lifevest, they found the upside down boat first, and three of the deceased within a few hours, then another storm came in followed by a hard freeze, and the search for the two missing individuals, had to be called off. In January a group of surgeon spearers found one of them frozen in the ice, and the Sheriff used chain saws to recover his remains, and when the ice went out in April, the remains of the final victim were found at a marina, on the east end of the lake. The moral of this story is you now have a wife and two kids, to think about, ( particularly since your wife is most times with you) so a weather warning should never be ignored! Even so simple a sign as leaves turning over or animals acting nervous or making for cover, can mean a big change is coming and quickly!
Years ago a storm came while fishing, I beached boat at launch and we waited it out in truck. Cleared up and went back out for couple hours heard a lot of sirens thought lightning must of struck something close by. When leaving turned on radio and heard three people died under a tree in golf course next to lake!!
I was hoping the storm would be later so you all could limit out your live well. Thank you for sharing and God bless you both and your whole family and friends....🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😊😀
Cole. Thank you for taking the time to explain the rigs you used. Personally, I think that will help all of the novice anglers. And that would be me. 😉 On a side note: I hope Jay is doing okay with the second Harkin baby. We’re ALL excited to see the new addition. ( Slab Queen #2 coming our way!!!).. 😉😎
I have seen storms come in with the blink of an eye on the lake I used to fish. Got caught a couple of times, and that takes the fun right out of fishing. Glad you and Jay are doing good to be able to enjoy each other fishing.
Yeah this was the first time in a while where a storm showed up earlier then predicted so it was a bummer that we had to cut out trip short. Anything less than a lightning storm and we would have stayed out there haha we don’t care to get wet if we are getting hit!
We've done the same. Caught on the water in a super fast storm except we weren't fishing we were water skiing & playing in watercraft. It happens! We pull out boats and hear out just to find it blew around us & get complacent... Glad everyone was ok.
Hi guys! Boy, that Storm came in fast and furious! There was a few seconds there when you were at the back of the boat I could hear some thunder and the rain and it reminded me of a recording I listen to at night to go to sleep. Lol! ☺️😁
Google Tornado at Pine Lake Alberta. That is how fast people die fishing on a "Sheltered," lake. You'd think you have time, but it destroyed a whole campground and people in seconds.
Lightening is known to strike watercraft. It’s also known to strike 10+ miles from its parent storm cell. Jay and Cole, for what it’s worth ya might consider attending a NWS storm spotter course. Soon they will post class dates on the NWS/Little Rock gov web site. Spotter classes are about 2-21/2 hours long. Cheers!
A big smallie will definitely put up a good fight on that rod. I’ve caught Striper over 10lbs on it and 5lb largemouth so it’s definitely capable of landing that caliber of fish.
I've been looking at the acc crappie Stix but it's hard to pull the trigger on a rod I may not use alot lol I'm a bass fisherman way more so than a crappie fisherman
It’s a good rod to have if you ever do plan to do any fishing for crappie, bream, or trout! I have used mine for small swimbaits bass fishing, but I normally use my other bass gear.
@@COLE_and_JAY I have a ML I use for smaller bass lures but it throws down to like 1/8 so the lighter jigs without a float don't cast far. Figured I'd look into a actual crappie rod. I've looked at the favorite fishing brush dobber in 6'8" m mod. And the acc 1 piece 6"6".
Dude, your fixation with Jay is showing. It’s a little creepy. Tornado Warning means get in the shelter. Tornado Watch means it might happen. There were no warnings for the area. Jay said Tornado Watch.
Cole let me start by apologizing for my comment on you having to change the name of your channel. I am truly sorry. I meant that as a joke because it is getting harder for Jay to get out with you. I meant no disrespect. Great video and great slabs. Love and respect.
All good my man! I definitely understand and took it as a joke lol. We obviously wish we could always film together but due to the high demand for videos it just isn’t realistic for us. We could either post less videos a month with both of us or more with a few solo trips mixed in. We love to create videos and at the moment it is in our best interest to post as many quality vids as we can. Thanks for the support!

@@COLE_and_JAY Cole what color palette do you use on your si? And di?
