In promotional interviews they mentioned it was about confidence turning into narcissism and you can see that a bit in the lyrics if you look for it ("I'm spotless" "driving on the highway, drunken everyday"). It seems like they're doing the thing they did with BEcause where they take a common theme and make it about someone being obsessive over it.
