Disclaimer: @halopg Did send me this pellet smoker, the Prime 300 portable & battery powered pellet grill ALONG with the countertop cart and grilling tool kit! No money changed hands and they don't get to see this video before it's published. I have AND will continue to enjoy this "little beast" of a smoker! I have taken it everywhere this summer and the fact the cart folds up and the grill all fit in my trunk is fantastic! The battery lasts 15-20 hours and I can attest, that statement is true. Please let me know what questions you have. OR if you already have this grill, how can I help you? As always, I appreciate you! Very thoroughly done review. Thanks for putting that together with the great information. *Plus great addition of the Maker's Mark for flavor. But YES - Bourbon + Flame can be bad. Moderation is the key in cooking too aparantly. LOL
Actually bought this over weekend for their bundle deal. Grill + Cover + Battery for around $580 ish. Excited to start using it, would love to see some of your favorite recipes for smoked foods on the channel using this little beast.
You made this thing look awesome with those foods you were making. I don't even know what you were doing most of the time but everything looked amazing. I wish I could smoke/BBQ that way dang.

Outstanding review! Seriously. It’s a Fantastic review with great information. I’m sold. Going to get one from BBQGUYS Black Friday deal. Well I might have Cabela’s match the price and get it local. I’m excited to put it on a shelf inside when not using. This will be my first smoker. I’ll keep my old Webber gas bbq. Might be good for something bigger.
Hey there! Thanks for watching! It’s a great little beast! Not sure what BBQGuys has it for but it should at least be 20% off on Halos website right now. Oh and now they have carry straps for it! Cheers!
Halo is worth every penny. I picked it up from a waffle, I have about 250 into. It sat in the box in storage and finally put it to use the past 3 months and man it has been awesome! I'm a pellet guy anyways so that was a plus!
Great question! The hottest spot was right next to the pellet hopper which is to the left of the burn pot. Interestingly, the hottest spot on their largest pellet grill is also to the left of the burn pot.
The thing is, with this being so small, if you live in an apartment, you can set it up near a window with a fan, or if you have a small balcony, even better. Been looking for a smoker and being a single man, I dont need a large smoker. One of these portable ones is perfect for me. This one being battery powered makes me far more portable
I don’t think you can get away with one of these on a balcony. Pellet grills have there hazards and your neighbors may complain of the extra smoke. There is an electric indoor smoker that would be better on a balcony rather inside. Good luck.
The instructions say that you are suppose to vacuum out the burn pot of ash, empty the hopper and auger tube after each use! This seems ridiculous, involves removing screws etc. Can you not leave the hopper and auger tube filled and let the burn pot burn the pellets in the pot?
Hey sorry for the late reply. I have to think those directions are created for the absolute worse case scenario. Now if you're cooking a brisket for 12-15 hours, then yeah maybe clean out the burn pot but I can attest that I clean mine out between 8-10 shorter cooks.
Good question, the overall length would be the hard part, I’d say nothing longer 14” at the most. The most meat that I have personally had on it was 3 chuck roasts
Great review! I certainly like the comparison you did with the other portables in the marketplace. I have seen other reviews that note the drip tray is angled to steep, which could cause grease fires ? Ps. The Makers Mark was a nice touch 👍🏻
Halo customer service is awful. You have to wait at least 2 days for a response via website and forget about getting thru via phone. The 5 year warranty sounds great but I am still waiting on a part that they were supposed to send so that I can even start using the grill. Makes for a great paperweight on my kitchen floor. It will probably go back. Think twice before buying this grill.
That's unfortunate. I spoke with them last month about people not having a good experience with CS and the person I work with told me they are trying to hire more CS people. At that time, there were only 2 so that is definitely an area they know they need to work on and get more people.

Thank you! Hahaha and yes, moderation is key...except burnt ends, no moderation needed there lol

It is a great deal!!! I have a couple vids on the channel so far, Picanha tacos were outrageous! Stay tuned for more
Thank you 👍
Looks very nice!

I see you wrapped a bunch of things in foil and you said you finished the cook this way what's the concept here?

Thanks for this well done review. It's down to Halo vs Pit Boss for me. Full time off grid RV application.

Did you notice any hotspots while working with this unit? I'm assuming where the burn pot is with the sear plate mechanism could cause some concern.
Great question!

How big of a brisket could you smoke on this?

How do you clean it? Shop vac?
Indeed! A shop vac is perfect!
price kinda high. i have a cecarol portable pellet grill holds 14 lbs pellets they run around 200 bucks. works amazing.
Looks cool, I like the wheels, but no battery so you have to make sure you have power. Still cool though, thanks for watching!
@BeergrYT ya battery is nice but not gor an extra 250 lol halo does make nice products thou.
I just bought one plus it has a five year warranty which is pretty darn good.

I just cooked off my homies friends Halo, amazing
Make a grill and it comes with no battery! Battery is extra!
