Argo Leaf Plus, the voice acting is A LOT better than Fates' English dub. Fates had several voice acting choices that were downright terrible (specifically, Male Kana, Hinoka, Effie, Nyx, and Selkie).
I am a birthright baby, the story in that one was, meh but the gameplay was what kept me interested, then along came Shadows and it was much much better, than the previous title. It solidified me as a fan.
I always get teary-eyed whenever the credits roll in Fire Emblem games. Seeing what happens and all the characters that I bonded with go their own ways makes me happy but sad.

When Jedah destroys Mila's body, why doesn't he also destroy the head (and with it, the Valentian Falchion)? If he did, Alm probably wouldn't have been able to save Celica, and would've been forced to kill her off for real, and then Jedah would've been able to take advantage of him giving in to despair over killing Celica and offer up his soul to Duma without resistance and then the Duma Faithful would've taken over Valentia.

Spoilers: Here's the thing, Mila and Duma are actually powerful Divine Dragons. Considering their power, when they made formed Zofia and Regil, people saw them as gods. Here's the flavor though, and hopefully I'm right. These two Divine Dragons were in danger of degeneration, because going by what happened with the Dragons, they were on the decline and they themselves were a threat to the world if they didn't keep themselves in check somehow if they degenerated, they didn't know the cause, but they created a solution that came in the form of dragonstones, all the power of dragons packed into one stone, become Manaketes. However a group of Earth Dragons and possibly plenty of other kinds refused, and those dragons were ultimately the ones that degenerated. Heck some of the Earth Dragon attacked the world, because they couldn't stand the decline of their race. Mila and Duma are Dragons who probably either didn't know of the solution or otherwise refused it. Either way, Both of them were facing degeneration. There was another way to prevent a degenerated dragon from rampaging the world. That solution is called the Falchion, created by Naga herself. One of the falchion was given to Duma just in case of the event that the go mad and humanity needed something to face them. In the final battle, we ultimately see Duma in the state he is, He doesn't even have grasp on himself, only the violent tendencies of a degenerated dragon remain. Mila loved her brother too much for him to die, that's why she sealed the Falchion, but that was just a petty temporary moment for her, as she realized that unless Duma is slain, all of Valentia would be screwed.

A man in the Sage's Hamlet tells you, but in case you missed him: Jedah can only be damaged every fourth time you attack him. Basically, he'll only lose health on every fourth hit. If you have four units that each attack him once, he'll take damage from the fourth unit. If two units double him, he'll take damage from the second unit's second attack.

Erick Tanamal Nyna is not dead yet. This game takes place before Mystery of the Emblem. In that game Zeke returns to Archanea disguised as Sirius. He meets Nyna but he lies and says that he is not Camus. Nyna already knows he is Camus but understands that she can't be with him anymore. At the end of the game Camus returns to Valentia to live his life with Tatiana. I don't remember if Nyna dies in the game before the final battle thou.

Fire Emblem and its melodrama... Sole reason Berkut and Rinea were made was because of drama. After pretty much everyone dying in Fates, I think Nintendo can go the next couple of FE games without dramatic deaths. They won't, of course, but they should.
No, they're not related at all whatsoever. Chrom and Lucina are related to Marth. Alm and Celica are both in the same timeline as Marth. So Alm and Celica aren't related to Marth at all.
Good ending except for one thing: the forced Awakening reference at the end. It completely took me out of the moment all for the sake of saying, "This game chronologically leads into that 3DS game you all like! Remember the Mila Tree? Good times, right?" I like Awakening just fine, but I'm concerned what'll happen if Intelligent Systems remakes more games but still insists on inserting pointless Awakening references into them. That'd disrupt continuity while providing cheap thrills.
Lee Thompson-Kolar Not really forced since a lot of the world building and lore existed even before Awakening. And Gaiden already being confirmed to set in the same world and close to the time after Shadow Dragon and before Mystery of the Emblem. iirc, the giant tree represents where Mila's resting place/grave is since in the legends speaks that when Divine Dragons die, they sprout trees on the place where they rest. So, technically, it's re-confirming stuff. In fact, if you look at the continent of Valm, it's literally almost the shape as Valentia and even some landmarks matches up between the two.
I'm aware of the Valentia-Valm connection. I just think they could've handled the Mila Tree reference more gracefully--maybe mention it in one cutscene and have one more cutscene after it that closes out the game. It came across to me like the devs were so eager to remind the player that Awakening will happen 2000 years later that they inserted a reference directly in the middle of the satisfying conclusion, which sapped out some of the emotion for me.
Lee Thompson-Kolar Uh, I really don't see your point. I was very satisfied with the tree and thought it was a nice touch to add in after the creduts. I don't think they're forcing people to remind them about it. It's just a neat reference and reward for those that finished the main story.
I guess it's just a me-problem, then. For me at least, the final conversation went as follows: -Banter about the weight of becoming a ruler -Talk about family and loss -Contrast it with the fates of the warring gods -Did you know that these special trees grow for thousands of years? I bet they'll be really neat when someone [the player] sees them. Man, if only we could see what Valentia will be like thousands of years from now... -End with inspiring sentiment about choice One of them just stuck out to me as feeling like a less natural part of the conversation--like it only came up because the player knows more about it than the two characters do. In hindsight, it might've been more effective if this tree description had been brought up earlier in the game so the final image would be more of a bookend. But those are just my thoughts. If you're satisfied with how it was executed, that's great. =]

Not correct; doubling doesn't affect it. Its 4 units attacking him, not 4 hits.
He is also vulnerable on every four turns to every attack.

I don't understand why I can't hit Duma. I've already failed this several times because of that annoying ability. Can someone tell me why?
Derek Valdivia After Duma's HP reaches a certain point, no one can hurt Duma except Alm with the Falchion. Also, only the Falchion (and Nosferatu lol) can deal the final blow on Duma.

@@bluejellybeancos late but it's homage to a glitch in Gaiden where Nosferatu could kill Duma. Thankfully Ragnarock can no longer crash the game.

Erick Tanamal Nyna is not dead yet. This game takes place before Mystery of the Emblem. In that game Zeke returns to Archanea disguised as Sirius. He meets Nyna but he lies and says that he is not Camus. Nyna already knows he is Camus but understands that she can't be with him anymore. At the end of the game Camus returns to Valentia to live his life with Tatiana. I don't remember if Nyna dies in the game before the final battle thou.
Jonathan Irizarry Actually for what I read Nyna left Archanea and disappear, probably going to Camus side... that just sad because he has a life in Valentia with Tatiana by that time :(

Fire Emblem and its melodrama... Sole reason Berkut and Rinea were made was because of drama. After pretty much everyone dying in Fates, I think Nintendo can go the next couple of FE games without dramatic deaths. They won't, of course, but they should.

No, they're not related at all whatsoever. Chrom and Lucina are related to Marth. Alm and Celica are both in the same timeline as Marth. So Alm and Celica aren't related to Marth at all.

Good ending except for one thing: the forced Awakening reference at the end. It completely took me out of the moment all for the sake of saying, "This game chronologically leads into that 3DS game you all like! Remember the Mila Tree? Good times, right?"
I like Awakening just fine, but I'm concerned what'll happen if Intelligent Systems remakes more games but still insists on inserting pointless Awakening references into them. That'd disrupt continuity while providing cheap thrills.
Lee Thompson-Kolar Not really forced since a lot of the world building and lore existed even before Awakening. And Gaiden already being confirmed to set in the same world and close to the time after Shadow Dragon and before Mystery of the Emblem. iirc, the giant tree represents where Mila's resting place/grave is since in the legends speaks that when Divine Dragons die, they sprout trees on the place where they rest. So, technically, it's re-confirming stuff. In fact, if you look at the continent of Valm, it's literally almost the shape as Valentia and even some landmarks matches up between the two.
I'm aware of the Valentia-Valm connection. I just think they could've handled the Mila Tree reference more gracefully--maybe mention it in one cutscene and have one more cutscene after it that closes out the game. It came across to me like the devs were so eager to remind the player that Awakening will happen 2000 years later that they inserted a reference directly in the middle of the satisfying conclusion, which sapped out some of the emotion for me.
Lee Thompson-Kolar Uh, I really don't see your point. I was very satisfied with the tree and thought it was a nice touch to add in after the creduts. I don't think they're forcing people to remind them about it. It's just a neat reference and reward for those that finished the main story.
I guess it's just a me-problem, then. For me at least, the final conversation went as follows:
-Banter about the weight of becoming a ruler
-Talk about family and loss
-Contrast it with the fates of the warring gods
-Did you know that these special trees grow for thousands of years? I bet they'll be really neat when someone [the player] sees them. Man, if only we could see what Valentia will be like thousands of years from now...
-End with inspiring sentiment about choice
One of them just stuck out to me as feeling like a less natural part of the conversation--like it only came up because the player knows more about it than the two characters do. In hindsight, it might've been more effective if this tree description had been brought up earlier in the game so the final image would be more of a bookend.
But those are just my thoughts. If you're satisfied with how it was executed, that's great. =]
