1) Please consider adding a 3D topographic map to show how the road is going through mountains or running along river valleys.
Map is always shown as a flat abstract plane and not as a geographic reality. In reality however, Road and Rail zigzag alignments are typically dictated by physical constraints like mountains, rivers, valleys and plain areas.
2) Please show how the other roads and expressways will connect to this expressway to get a feel of what the entire road NETWORK will do for the economies of the States in question.

This project will boost tourism in North East, will counter National Security and will provide better connectivity. I often think of going to Darjeeling or Assam through road. This expressway will make it easier.

yeh Gorakhpur-Siliguri expressway ab tak ke ban jana chahiye tha na . .....here problem is politicians of Bihar . good thing is that land aquisition has been completed in may 2022 , hope it will be completed upto 2027-28 . i think this Gorakhpur - Siliguri expressway should extend upto Assam, Arunachal Pradesh which is closer to China ☺☺☺
The whole project name is Ludhiana -Gorakhpur - Siliguri expressway NHAI is developing this expressway in phases like Ludhiana -Ambala , Ambala - shamli , shamli - barely, gorakhpur to barely and in last gorakhpur to Siliguri.

@Your_real_dadEntire Himalaya is within seismic zone. If USBRL project can be built then the similar type of tunnels can be done in Eastern Himalayas too. Everything depends on cost and return.

This project is passing through my village in supaul district of bihar.
Development of Bihar is very crucial for India security..if Bihar doesn't match with chinese infrastructure in next 10-15 yrs india may loose whole north east because Bihar provides shortest distance connectivity from chicken neck to main land india and also thousand of Chinese spy working in china and due to Buddhist connection of bihar it's very easy for china to inflitrate spy in Bihar & during war you can't rely on west bengal (mini bangladesh) ...so next 10-15 yrs if Bihar infrastructure doesn't match with chinese infrastructure India face heavy loss in north east

We need a Expressway from *Bhagalpur to Delhi* directly. Although there is proposed expressway from Bhagalpur to Buxar which will connect Buxar to Lucknow ahead. Still BXR-BGP is just proposed no devolpment on ground

I love anything that helps Bihar and Eastern UP assume importance on map. But the fear is- corruption and compromising quality of the express highways, which has been leading to the super structures become no better than substandard or even kuchcha roads just days after their inaugurations! This aspect should also be looked into while apperoaching projects so that 🇮🇳 can properly utilise its financial and other resources
