You had a really good week. I need to try the Scottish Isles next year. Looking forward to your Advent/Vlogmas! My cards I'm going to use to make mine came today so hopefully I can work on that this weekend. My favorite book last week was Looking for Salvation at the Dairy Queen.
Excited for you to try Scottish Isles! 😀
Scottish Christmas mystery 🫶🏻I love a small town atmosphere Yay 5⭐️
I love it! Hope you give it a try. 😀
Looking forward to seeing your retro TBR for next year. I am enjoying The Woman in the MIrror by Rebecca James this week which is a gothic and quite spooky. It is a time slip format with modern and historic main characters.
Sounds like an interesting book!
I'm looking forward to your advent calendar project. And you're looking especially pretty today, Stormi. 😊
Thanks! Filming after church 😀.
That sounds like a good Vlogmas plan! Can't believe its almost December!!!
I know right! Crazy that it's already headed to end of year.
Storm, YAY FOR DEATH AT A SCOTTISH CHRISTMAS. 🎉🎉🎉. I love this series and like you I love that the whole town rallies around each other. I also like that she is more coroner than doc. I do hope another comes out🙂🎄❤️
It's such a a fun series, I hope there are more too!
I might give the Scottish Isles Mysteries a go. You had a good week.
Great idea for your advent calendar.
Oh you should! Though you might find it's faults that I don't. 😀
@StormReads will give them a try.
I'm finally reading An American in Scotland and I'm about 5 chapters in. So far, so good! It's really cozy, love the setting! 📚
Yay! Hope you love it! I don't often give out 5 stars to a first book in a cozy series but I loved it. 😀
Four books is still pretty good!!! I am looking forward to your Advent calendar project; it's going to be fun to see you "rediscover" books you have. I am interested in the Scottish series by Lucy Connelly but for some reason the prices are just not affordable (sulking in corner LOL LOL) - I will not pay 20$ Cdn for a kindle edition or 29$ Cdn for a paperback xo
Bummer! Can you not find them on Libby? ☹️
I’ve liked some Karin Slaughter books but haven’t read any of the Will Trent series. Not sure how much I want to start another long series, but the TV show looks cute! The Scottish Highlands series sounds good!
I am curious about the Will Trent show, so maybe one day when I have read more of the books I will try it.
I have Lucy Connelly's Scottish series and Love And Other Conspiracies on my list for now. (Looking for used paperbacks-ugh. So many books on sale for Christmas but not those titles.) Thanks for reminding me about Lucy Connelly's series.
Yay for Scottish Isles!
Books I want are never on sale during the holidays! Bummer.
To me, the Grant County series by Slaughter are better than the Will Trent ones. Blindsighted is the first one. The 2 series merge in later books. BTW, Will is dyslexic but really smart at hiding it. He can read, but he's very slow at it. I think all of Slaughter's books are pretty violent.
The best books I read this past week were Blowout by Catherine Coulter and Savage Cut by Jo Dereske, both backlist mysteries.
Your advent calendar sounds fun!
I thought Grant County was okay but I couldn't stand that one lady cop and it brought my enjoyment down and I didn't like how it ended.
She is a gritty writer. 😀
I need to check out those authors you mentioned I think I know Catherine Coulter but not the other one.
Coulter writes a lot of romance, but I've enjoyed the first 9 of her FBI series. I think there are more than 25 in the series.
Wil Trent book, Fractured, he can read, he has dyslexia(not sure of spelling) he sees letters turn around. I guess in those days, it was not mentioned and he got no help. But Sarah from Grant county recognizes it but doesn't want him to feel bad, so she doesn't mention it. so waiting until she does, hopefully, cause I am way into the series and hasn't been mentioned yet.
I know they talked about dyslexia and a suspect but I guess I didn't associate it with him. Still makes him an interesting character as he always tries to get out of reading, etc.
Did you know they've made Will Tent into a tv show on ABC. I've not watched it. Thought you might like to try it since you've read a few of the books
Mary Jo, the TV show is nothing like the books. I was so disappointed that I only watched one episode.
@bjminton2698 I didn't know that never read the books or watched the show .
Yes, I have known about it. I want to read more books before trying it. 😀
Oh that is a bummer, hate when they do that.
