Paganini played a lot of guitar to himself and given that he only performed the caprices in private he probably played it on guitar at some point. But yah, as long as you live long enough to be in internet era you’d prob see it.
I am sure that Paganini himself would have had admiration. Although it was conceived for violin this Capriccio plays on the guitar in a highly expressive way, even more than on the violin, but this depends on the level of transcription and performance. Excellent, my most sincere congratulations.
I feel like I’ve heard a lot of guitar players over the years, and you might be one of the best. I don’t say that lightly. You combine technique with feeling, that’s the only way I can explain it.
I wouldn't consider Fisk a role model, but it was a great gain for music that the electric thing was abandoned in favor of a real musical instrument. Great rendition, congratulation!!!
I love Paganini! Many music snobs regard him as a novelty. I disagree. I think he was a genius with an impeccable sense of harmony and texture. No other composer can touch one’s emotions like him.
TimeLapsesTV thank you! This was actually my second attempt at recording this piece precisely because the melody needed to be more clear. Thank you for noticing :)
Although most of the Caprices work well on guitar I prefer them on the original violin except this one which works actually a lot better on guitar, congrats on a beautiful performance and also great production overall (recording, lighting, video quality etc.)
is not de original my friend. Please listen Asturias in piano, what do you prefer? All the ppl prefer in guitar, this is an example. Maestro Henderson made an arrangement that captures the intention of the piece, he did not make a copy, since they are two very different instruments. Maestro Segovia said: "La guitarra have to many forms, colorus, "registros", to capture anothers instruments but la guitarra is not the others intruments". My all respect to you maestro Henderson.
@@DrewHendersonGuitar hola! from México, where could I buy your cd...is there any site? my granddaughter is a guitarist beginner and your absolutely fan! I want to give her for christmas
I have watched this performance 4 times and am having difficulty in finding anything to criticize. 9.5/10 : Tone - Extremely clean and accurate 9.5/10 : Dynamics - Almost perfect 9.5/10 : Individual melodies - Excellent 9.5/10 : Tempo - Excellent 9.5/10 : Control - Excellent ------------ 47.5/50 : Total (95%) ------------ Note: The endurance you have shown with this demanding piece (without allowing the dynamics, clarity and tempo to suffer) is commendable. You have achieved an almost perfect performance. Extremely well controlled and executed. Many people may not know, but this is a VERY demanding piece on both hands. You were relaxed, focused and gave this piece its full attention. Bravo! Drew. BRAVO!
Hi Drew, thank you making the time and effort to create your videos. They are appreciated by a great many people. Your background in first learning the guitar is similar to mine. I am curious which school you went to, what you studied, and how you managed to get into video production and editing. Hope to hear from you soon, Tony
Maybe it is from the beginning of the learning, just when you take your first class and the master ask you to take the guitar properly... Ten, you grow up with the knowledge and keep it forever... Greetings!
I think It is based in Flamenco music, not an easy technique, but not the hardest, but playing it for 6 min makes it painful hahahaha. This is the song I listened this technique first: min 0:45 ua-cam.com/video/I3jWsoQ8W8g/v-deo.html
In its origin it should be a lute technique used in baroque or earlier for ornamentation like trills. Here very long trills. Its also related to tremolo p, a, m, i. Correct me if I'm wrong. And tremendous interpretation by the way!
Hey I just want to say that you are an AMAZING guitarist and I would like to know if you're planning on recording more CDs aside from the Nocturne CD which is excellent btw.
Hi! Thank you very much. Yes, it's been a while since i recorded a CD. I currently have a good portion of a Mozart Duo CD recorded already with my duo partner, so that will be out next. Also, we have a ton of arrangements of Schubert, Beethoven and Brahms ready for a Romantic themed CD. I have a lot of music ready to go solo-wise, i'm just trying to decide which is best. It will probably be an 8-string Bach CD as a lot of music is ready to go, but i am really picky about the sound of the 8 string so that is holding me back a bit (a new one is arriving Friday!) If it sounds amazing, then Bach for sure. So, lots of plans as you can see. Please stay subscribed and you'll know right away of the next release!
Dear God. That was simply epic. I have no words to express my admirarion for your work on this piece. Do you have the score or the tab for your arrangment? I would like to buy it. Sorry if I leave any typo. I'm a fellow guitarist from Brazil. I love to play classical music, and I have made some arrangments from quite a few songs from the Brazilian seven strings acousifc guitar's repertoir. It's a genre of music called "chorinho". Some notorious musicians from this genre are Baden Powell, Villa Lobos, Pixingujnha, Yamandu Costa, Rapahel Rabello, Ernesto Nazareth and Jacob do Bandolim. Again, congratulations for your work on transcribing it to our beloved acoustic guitar, and for your flawless execution over it.
I never believed I'd live long enough to see someone play this piece on guitar

Eliot Fisk did it in 1992
Yeah you probably aren't from the early 1800's

I never thought Paganini could sound so relaxing.
Quelle sensibilité... Je suis vraiment touchée.

Fantastic performance, so calm and beautiful, you were so deep into the piece. Thanks for this performance.
Excellent! Tout y est: profondeur, sensibilité, romantisme, grâce â une technique égale â la grande sensibilité de cet artiste virtuose.

podrias vender la partitura de esta obra?
If you're still there, is there anyway for me to learn it?
Nice and calm execution, now play like Paganini do
Great performance.... technically The piece seems more like a study than a capriccio
love this. where can i get the arrangement ?
It sounds quite good also on guitar... But this is for violin. Paganini wrote a lot of music for guitar... amazing and incredibly difficult too...
Is it possible to get a tab?
Sorry, unfortunately not from me! I will publish caprice no. 2 eventually though. Thanks for watching!
not arranged by Fisk?
Sorry for breathing the same air as you do
Alguien de aqui conoce una pagina donde pueda conseguir esa version?
