sad but true. Victon really underrated and they deserve more recognition because they are so talented and their voice are all different and that make it more beautiful when they sing together. thank you for appreciated and noticed them and i hope you have a nice day.
We miss you, you're the best vocal analysist channel in the whole platform. Waiting for your comeback and hope you feel better after the break you deserved it
before even watching i know seungsik has that #1 spot... my favorite voice would be chan though he is very under used in victon songs.. seungwoo and sejun definitely have the stylish voices for victon songs.. and byungchan always tried his best to song and it’s so good to see someone wanting to do well and getting actually better by time
sejun's analysis has me crying how is he such a completely confusing man, everyday I wonder what goes on his head and to find out his voice as well just doesn't make sense is soo sejun
Sejun has a really nice voice, he just lack of confidence sometimes. He said that he's kind of scared to sing. He used to get a 0 on vocal evaluation back then as a trainee. I think if he meets a nice vocal trainer, he could improve even more.
Thank you so much for doing Victon! I've been waiting for this one! They're super underappreciated and can use every bit of attention they can get. It sometimes baffles me how a group that pretty much has it all (great rappers, singers, visuals and choreography) is struggling to pull in enough fans. To the point where they almost had to disband before their contract ran out. Your ranking cleary shows that it really isn't the members fault. They do their job well and work with what they're given. I mean which group can claim that their lead rapper/lead vocal became the main vocal on a survival show? Makes me think about what would've happened if they actually sent their main vocal. Anyways, thanks for showing them some love, it truly made me appreciate them even more. They're a bit of a weird and sadly mismanaged group but they're trying their best and therefore deserve more recognition.
The timing of their debut and being from a smaller company (smaller than Starship, Big Hit or one of the "big 3") are the main reasons. Of course companies aren't perfect but for a company of Plan A's size (before it merged to become Play M) they did a pretty decent job with promotions already. Besides going on the usual music shows, the guys performed overseas at KCON and other festivals multiple times, had an overseas concert tour and went busking around Seoul. They were starting to get more domestic fans but WannaOne came in 2017 and basically dominated everything from charts to music shows to variety shows. Many groups got swept away under the rug, not only Victon. In fact quite a few of Victon's fellow 2016-debuted groups like Pentagon and SF9 only started getting a lot more recognition and got their first music show wins from last year onwards.
@@mxgirl918 Well, their company might be small but they did have Apink. It just confuses me how a company with a hugely successful girlgroup couldn't do better for their brother group. They had a blank period for over a year! I'm not hating on Play M cause they seem to be promoting the guys a lot better nowadays (and the boys seem to get along well with the staff) but from a fan's perspective I can't help but think they should've done more earlier. I just hate the thought of Seungwoo and Byungchan feeling so desperate that they agreed to go on a survival show just to avoid disbandment. And Seungwoo blaming himself for his group's misfortune. The thing about WannaOne is a good point though. I didn't think about that tbh. Either way, I'm glad Victon is gathering more fans. Now that Seungwoo's enlisting it's gonna be even harder for them so it'd be good for them to have a sizeable fanbase they can rely on.
@@rici3302 Having Apink alone doesn't mean much because the big 3 are way more influential and have more connections (which means a lot in the k-ent world). I put more blame on the people in charge of their musical direction. Seungwoo once mentioned recently that in hindsight some of the lyrics from their debut release made him cringe (now that he's older) and some of the Korean comments I've read also said the same. Their image/styling didn't match the lyrics so people were like: are you targeting teenaged girls or noona fans? Also, there was one song where they made Chan, who has a lovely voice that is lower than 2Seung/Sejun, do a falsetto note which he struggled with and made me go WTF why couldn't they have given that to those 3 high note experts? They mentioned practicing a lot and trying improve themselves during their "blank period" and the improvement really showed in their post Seungwoo-joining-PDX101 releases. I think them being more sure of their identity as a group as they are older and more mature now also played a role. Yes, I'm also glad they are finally being recognized and gaining more fans because they are really one of the most balanced and talented groups I've come across.
@@mxgirl918 Obviously they can't compete with groups from the big 3 (or BigHit) but you'd think having a really successful group under your name means that you know how to manage a group. I am a bit fond of their debut stuff, ngl. But you're right, they are a bit cringey and somewhat disorganized. They jumped around a lot, never really finding their own style. Which I feel like they fixed now. There is a distinct "Victon" feel to their releases now while still making bold choices and trying out new stuff. I watched a vocal coach react to and rank Victon's vocals and he mentioned a similar thing. What initially got me into Victon were their distinct vocal colours. But the company uses them...weirdly. I had no idea just how amazing Chan's vocals were until he went to King of Masked Singer. The vocal coach said it almost feels like their songs are written with only 2-3 members in mind which seems to be an odd choice. Especially considering that none of them are bad singers. But anyways, thanks for the discussion! You brought up some good points I didn't really consider. Victon were one of the first kpop groups I got into back in 2018 (fantastic timing as always) and I feel really proud seeing how much they improved and how they fought through all the hardships.
SAM COME BACK!!! WE MISS U CAN YOU PLEAASEEE DO ONE DIRECTION (WITH ZAYN) I KNOW THEY ENDED BUT I WANT TO SEE UR TAKE ON THEIR VOCLAS WHILE THEY WERE A BAND!!!!
I agree with all of your opinions tbh. 1. Seungwoo -- he has a unique color and love the high notes omgggggg 2. Seungsik -- powerhouse of the group, technicalities are fantastic, very strong singer 3. Sejun -- I love his unique tone and his breathy high notes 4. Chan -- he has a unique tone 5. Byungchan -- I live for the light "angelic" tone of his voice 6. Subin -- his voice is so light and airy but his deeper parts kill 7. Hanse -- he is a phenomenal rapper and when he sings he likes to have fun :) I am not experienced in music but this is my opinion as a fan. Everyone has their own colors and talents that they bring to Victon, but this is my opinion. Great video!
glad to hear you've been doing well. i can only imagine creating content like this comes in waves of interest and disinterest. it's cool to see this ranking, i've been more curious about them recently, and i didn't really know seungsik had a voice like that.
Sorry for commenting twice, I had to get the initial excitement out of my system to be able to actually watch the video lol What I like about Victon is the fact that they sound good, and by that I mean they might not be the best vocalists out there but they don't try to pull ungodly tricks with their voices (mainly on their b-sides) which I appreciate. If you can't sing certain notes or certain styles, you don't have to ... not all kpop singers understand that. Also, Victon members have distinct voices, you don't have to be a hardcore stan to figure out who is singing which part which is kinda rare in kpop. I wish PlayM had a better vocal instructor, Byungchan LOVES singing, he keeps talking about wanting to do better but it seems he's not getting much help from the person in charge. Seungsik mentioned taking lessons from another instructor which says something .... I couldn't agree more with what you said about Seungsik, does he have my favorite voice in the group? nope, that would be Sejun but boy oh boy is he an asset to the group. There's not a single singing style he can't pull off, it's insane. I don't think I'd like Victon's songs as much as I do if he wasn't in the group Thanks for the amazing analysis. I enjoyed it so much
My favorite voice in the group also sejun! And I agree, I hope playM had better vocal instructor. Victon has so much possibility to be one of the best vocal group out there, each of them has distinct voices. Their ballads never fail to be my favorites 😁
I wanted to add the fact that Seungsik is the one, that sometimes gives lessons to the members and feedbacks as well. Once I read that actually the agencies don't give them lessons or smth like that 🤔 (I may be wrong tho, since don't remember well)
I love you comment but I will politely disagree with you saying they're not the best vocalists. In my opinion, they are probably one of the best 3rd gen kpop vocal lines, up there with EXO and Seventeen. They're the only group with very unique vocals but use it in the right technique. Hahah but maybe I'm being slightly biased, sorry!
thank you for this video, I love victon & definitely enjoyed this ranking, even if I personally like some of the lower ranked voices more (I love Hanse's whiny singing voice) it's always good to see your reasonings and it's obvious that you do ur research very well. no pressure to upload tho, take your time! youtube is not your main source of income and it's understandable that you might want to focus on another personal projects

As a fan, i got all the ranking correctly. Seungwoo is the lead vocal in victon along with sejun. But, seungwoo is the main vocal in X1. Seungsik as we know the main vocal. The interesting fact is, sejun always win the high note battle
Seungwoo has the best vocal techniques imo. He has smooth falsettos and his voice rarely cracks too. Personally i think he has the best vocals in the group.
I was wondering if you could do this for the groups MCND and Enhypen. Both groups debuted in 2020 so they are newer but I would love to see your opinions and thoughts about their vocals.
One group that would be really cool but also probably really hard is IOI. They barely have any group material but most of them have a lot of group stuff. The issue though is there are like 5 groups they’re in so it would require a tonnnn of research. Same with Wanna one, but more of Wanna One have solo careers and also much more group work.
hi, I luv your videos. can you do something describing and giving your opinion about solo artists? of course not a ranking since they've never sang together, but a little description of their voices, strengths and weakness when it comes to singing, like woodz, Kang Daniel, jeong sewoon, chungha, somi, sunmi, etc etc

OMG VICTON EXACTLY! I can tell you really enjoyed them! Personally I think Victon has one of the best boy group vocal lines in today’s Kpop.
Oneus and Victon voices are my favorite because they have voices that stand out from the other kpop groups

Sam, have you thought of doing a vocal ranking on IZ*ONE? Let me know!
Sam is back so it's a good day today😁
we miss you :(
Please do Onewe!!! They are a super underrated band and have some really amazing vocalists!
agreeee why are victon songs so damn high no matter the concept
One group that would be really cool but also probably really hard is IOI. They barely have any group material but most of them have a lot of group stuff. The issue though is there are like 5 groups they’re in so it would require a tonnnn of research. Same with Wanna one, but more of Wanna One have solo careers and also much more group work.
come back bro, we miss u
Comeback bro we miss you
Is good to see you back
Is it possible to have a full, resonant voice without sounding deep, dark, heavy, and thick?

hi, I luv your videos. can you do something describing and giving your opinion about solo artists? of course not a ranking since they've never sang together, but a little description of their voices, strengths and weakness when it comes to singing, like woodz, Kang Daniel, jeong sewoon, chungha, somi, sunmi, etc etc
