I've been seriously considering this camera you just helped me make my decision. Lots of reviews of this camera online but none of them are as straight to the point has yours. I would love to see a follow-up video showcasing photos you made with this camera. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I own three Canon VT and VT Deluxe rangefinders, matched with three Voigtlander wide angle Leica screw mount lenses.(21,25,and 35mm). Like your lovely Canon P, they are superbly made, serious alternatives to Leicas.👍🌟🌟🌟📷
Your correct the camera is beautiful I'm just worried about the cost of film, developing & prints if you don't do it yourself. I think the cost would put some people off buying film cameras and yet they are much nicer to use than an all digital all bells & whistles camera.
Thus was a perfect little review of thus absolut beautiful little camera ! You earned yourself a new suscriber :) PS: My Canon P came with the Mail today , I am sooooo stoked to try it out :))
I have this camera. It is well made and solid. I was lucky to find a mint canon 50mm/1.4 leica screw mount (LTM) to pair with the camera. Some say it's the Japanese Summilux. I really recommend this lens if you can get a good copy. www.stevehuffphoto.com/2017/06/07/the-japanese-summilux-thoughts-on-thecanon-50-1-4-ltm-lens/ jasonhowe.blog/aperture-priority/2013/05/28/the-japanese-summilux-canon-50mm-f1-4-ltm
@@hayderassam Hey! Nice review of this camera! How do you find it using the 35mm framelines on the camera? I'm between this and the canon 7, but I normally shoot 35 so I'm a bit concerned about not being able to see the framelines. Thanks!
@@codyallen3729 Mold in the optical parts, corrosion of the body seems the chrome is not that durable as on Leicas and the first I bought turned into a very nice looking doorstop when the shutter broke,in fact it looks like brand new so this is not a criteria for its functionality.
@@mjoelnir58 Leicas are not as robust as Canon Rangefinders. Beautiful cameras but more prone to repair issues.(Told to me by my repair specialist in Chicago)
I love the Canon P, and my 7s. It does feel good to be shooting film again.
I think I’ll choose the VI-L (6L) for the simple fact that the frame lines can be changed. Great review. Beautiful camera.
Canon p is seriously one of my favorite cameras, everything from the look to the shutter sound is amazing

Great review ... I don't need one of these but I really really want one, they one of the most beautiful of all cameras
Got a Canon L3 + Industar 61 (55mm f2.8) for around 100 USD. A friend of mine said this "Canon rangefinders are basically the rational man's Leica."

My Canon P is running fine, 60 years old. I bet it's never even had a CLA. The most problem free 35mm camera ever made...:)

whoops. Now I looked again, a Jupiter. Grear vid, thank you!
Nice!
How is that Jupiter lens? Have you had a chance to get another lens?
I have 2 Jupiter lenses for it now , the 8 and 12 giving me 50mm and 35mm focal lengths. Both lenses are great !

@@jorgeesteban9563 I have no problems with the 35mm frame lines as they are the widest ones on the viewfinder and fill the whole screen
What lens do you have on this P?
No meter but the 7s has one.
I was thinking about getting a 7 or 7s actually :)
These cameras are really good looking but sadly they got lots of problems that's why they are cheap
I have been lucky with mine as its flawless , most 60 year old cameras are prone to problems I guess
Problems like what? I haven''t heard this anywhere else
