I really like 813's product! I see the benefit to having a full metal under seat storage with the molle panels. Great idea! However, after using my factory plastic locking box I see some advantages in it. I can lift the seat and still have a locked container. When the seat is lifted I can actually just sit cargo directly on top of the locked plastic container; while it's locked. However, the storage in the lockable factory plastic container is limited due to the width of the walls and lid. So there are pros and cons to each. Either way, great rundown!
You need the 813 behind the seat compressor mount! I went with the diabolical under seat box last week. Which is funny im only a few blocks away from you and was working on this same project for my 3.0 JT.
2 things you can get some 550 cord for the zippers and while yes it would be nice if they came black you can paint it keep the good work up thanks 😊👍

Love the Gladiator build! Any chance you can show what you did to your roll bar? The black bed, roll bar, fenders and grill contrasting with the body color look great!

If you do get any rattle, could you just put some kind of rubber seal around it? Also on the bolts not being black, would a sharpie do the trick? I’m looking for something exactly like this for my Gladiator and just wondering if these ideas might work.
We’ve had it installed for a while now and no rattles. And since the install I haven’t even really noticed that the bolts aren’t black. It’s been a pretty perfect storage box.
Hey pal, are you in Tampa! If so, looks like your JT and mine are the top dogs! haha. My issue is people keep trying to steal my JT. They pulled out my dash and my security system locked down my engine. Had to have it towed to the dealer for a SECOND TIME. Now, with that said, I have soft top. The fools even tried breaking into the top messed up the rails by trying to crowbar their way in. I have to put a club on it every night, fyi. SO, my question: I'm about to drop a custom box and two JL 10's below the rear seat, but there would be no point if I can't secure the subs with a lock box. But if it is lock boxed, will it affect sound?
I’d be worried that the lock box would rattle badly. And no, we are in Chicago
What does it measure from the inside edge of the new box to the plastic box that holds the bolts of the top?

Does it rattle when driving.?
I haven’t had any rattling, the only thing I’ve noticed is that sometimes when I blast the stereo with a lot of bass it will vibrate a little.

No pull tabs for the zippers is standard in the auto industry. Keeps things quiet.
Interesting storage design, but that rattling would drive me nuts.
I was worried that it would rattle, but it hasn’t ever rattled. Even while driving fast on the sand dunes.
