We want to add challengers to the next series of Challenge Accepted. Who would you like to see take on the Running Channel presenters? Leave your ideas in the comments section below!
I knew Kate would win this, a straight climb for 38 minutes was always going to be tough as there's no recovery inbetween. A great challenge, I enjoyed that.
Challenge idea - do a 10K handicap race - take each of your 10K times from the earlier episode, pick a route then set of based on your own times slowest runner first fastest runner leaving last so in theory you will all finish at the exactly the same second - winner is first to finish. Can the quickest runner catch the others or will they stay ahead?
I really admire all the presenters to run and hold their go pros/cameras at the same time. It is not easy on the arms for the distance they are running.
1.The Run Experience vs The Running Channel: Virtual 5k followed by a 10 mile race. Lowest (best) combined time wins 2.GTN vs The Running Channel: Relay race along the River Thames (that my be more than one can chew!!) 3. Kofuzi, Ben Parkes, Sarah Place, Flora Beverly vs The Running Channel: Virtual 10k. Lowest (best) combined time wins.
Kate should have gotten extra extra points just for spending that much time on a treadmill. I love hills but absolutely, 100% loathe the treadmill. Way to go Kate!
This was a great series! A suggestion for the next series is all about endurance. Who runs the furthest between sunrise and sunset. Take as many breaks as you like, but the more you take, the less you’d be able to run.
I recently purchased a GoPro Hero 9. You know what’s friggin’ difficult? Talking to a GoPro while running - my mind goes naturally blank. Mad respect for you guys not only doing it, but remembering anything resembling a script while running. I’d love it if you guys would do a video on such a thing as it’s a respectable talent to have. Great job guys!
I would like to see some kind of sprint challenge -- 100, 200, or 400 meters or an agility test. I feel like way too many runners completely overlook fast start, absolute speed, and definitely change of direction.
Cannot wait for series 2 - Autumn Winter edition :D . Would love to see Anna, Rick, Kate and Andy be mentors for people who are new to running and train them to compete in challenges. Would be great too see someone's journey who goes from never running to an enthusiast. Running channel rocks!
Congratulations to all! So proud of Kate who showed a lot of heart and conquered. Nice work all. In WNC almost all of our runs 5K or longer involve close to 1000' of vertical change unless you go to the track. Mounds of opportunity I heard someone say once. It's always fun to watch racers come to our events from Charlotte or Atlanta and come to grips with running in the lovely mountains.
Congrats to Andy for winning the series and to Kate for winning the elevation. Next challenge: Everybody has an hour time to cover as many landmarks as possible of their hometowns. Every landmark has to be filmed and you need to say why it is special. Show why your hometown is worth a visit, especially, if you are a running tourist. There can be two ways of gaining points: quantity (number of landmarks covered) and quality (a rating who presented their hometown best). Maybe runners from all over the world will want to run in your place afterwards, if they spend their holidays in the UK.
Henry Cavill! He's just finished training for his Zoo ambassador race! Challenge is trivia 10k. Give the team and Henry a question each km, add 3minutes for each wrong answer!
This series was so good, looking forward to the next chapter, you are all such amazing runners who genuinely enjoy what you do. That’s all the motivation I ever need to lace up and have a go. 💕❤️👏
Surely with something like this you should have tried to minimise the time wasted running downhill. I would have just gone to a mountain or fell that took over my 10km to climb.
Anna may have lost the challenge series but she's my top pick for who I'd like to run with. She's always being funny and creative and coming up with great comments and positive self talk to get her through the run or challenge. Really enjoy all of you, but if I had to spend an hour running hills, I'd have the best time doing that with Anna! Keep up the great work everyone. Your videos are fantastic.
Can you make a video with every runner across the world (that you hope to recruit in the challenge and all walks of life) saying a word or a phrase and put them all together to make one poem or song or speech. We need something inspirational soon! Thank you for all your videos too!
Great suggestion Josie! Have you checked out our previous motivational videos? ua-cam.com/video/IghuHZd9XgE/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/SIWNDqsQOjk/v-deo.html
Love your videos! Especially this series:) Would love to see Jenny Falconer on this channel doing a challenge as the run pod podcast is one of my faves and think she’ll be good competition👍
Great series! Future challenge idea...Negative Split Challenge. Who can run the furthest while running a faster and faster k/mile? 1st k/mile can be no slower than your 5k pace +2 minutes. No rest between laps. The twist...you can only check the pace on your watch for the first k/mile!
Great series of challenges. Well done Kate for grinding it out on the treadmill. When the restrictions are over be good to see you all attempt the Red Bull 400 challenge
Love you guys! Such a laugh and so inspiring as well. So many funny comments. How about doing a 10k relay against 4 celebs with similar 10k PBs. The winner is the team that runs the 40k fastest.
Great challenge! Have really enjoyed the series and think it’s likely one of the most entertaining segments you all do! Keep the humor regardless of who you bring in! Need a US runner? Reach out to Seth James DeMoor who has a good sense of humor and a really large UA-cam following.
Kate outsmarted everyone. She demonstrated outstanding physical endurance for sure, but she was also the only one who was gaining elevation with every step. Everyone else had to spend precious time going back down. Great challenge! And congrats to Kate!!!
Me! And a few of my training friends would be honored to take on the Running Channel gang! The challenge will be from the tri training handbook...either fastest 5k after a swim and bike or fastest cumulative 8k split by a bike ride!
I reckon you should get a whole bunch of triathletes in and pit them against runners! Both sets of athletes are incredibly tough and are absolutely incredible runners! A bit of healthy competition can only be beneficial!
Congratulations to Kate! I didn't expect Kate to gain this much elevation on the treadmill. Genius idea! However, each of you suffered so much. I would def not have chosen the stairs; these are always cruel and unusual punishment. Considering that extra punishment, excellent performance, Andy! Rick, I am crying a bucket of croc tears for you. Your choice of hills sounded a truly tragic. Surely no worse than the Andy's staircase or Kate's treadmill torture. Anna, you gotta try harder. You didn't suffer enough. 238m elevation is nothing. It's a bump on a pancake! However, I have not lost hope in you, Anna. You will rise to the next challenge, because you are strong!
What a fun challenge! Although I knew from the start that Kate was going to win...running on a treadmill is really no fair, because she never had to use time going back down! Everyone else used half of their distance or so going back to the bottom of the hills/stairs, while Kate was going uphill nonstop! Smart thinking, Kate!
Congratulations to Kate for winning this challenge. Great tactic to run up hill for the entire run but brutal. Also, congrats to Andy for the series win. And Rick, it was definately the weight of your keys and phone that cost you the win 🤔 And good effort Anna. Enjoyed watching the series folks 👍
Ayy, that’s my challenge right there! Edit: or so I thought, apparently that isn’t me and I was replaced by whoever that man is( this is my second edit because I wanted you to know that they unhearted my comment for asking this😭), oh well, still I know I put that comment there on one of there videoes and they asked me to be in their video, a bit weird though😂😂😂 can anyone shed some light on the matter?
Jason Reinherz yeah but we literally talked over email and they gave me a deadline and I sent it in before the deadline and they unhearted my comment right after I edited it, so they have seen it and haven’t replied, just a bit confusing to me
Thanks for watching Ross! Yes, we had a few people suggest an elevation challenge - it was a great idea! We'd love to be able to feature everyone, but sadly it's not always possible. Keep the ideas coming though!
Welcome to my World. I live in a mountain valley and every run is a hill challenge (LOL). World class triathletes like to train here and one of their favorite training runs is a place called Blackett's ridge with a 530 meter elevation gain in about 5K distance. Par is considered to be 30 minutes (although I take considerably longer).
Really enjoyed these challenges. I would love to see you invite Bit Beefy/Coach Cory Wharton-Malcolm of Track Mafia and have a challenge involving running and a household objects relay.
I did think his estimate seemed optimistic! Rick is only slightly faster than me for 10k, I can do 5k from my front door up on to the local moor with about 300m gain in about 35 minutes and that’s a serious climb so I thought he might come up short of his number! If I was going to do this challenge I’d pick one of the steeper sections of that route (15-20% gradient) and do repeats on it
I loved the challenge, but I think the results were determined as soon as the routes were set. Kate was the only one who spent 100% of her time increasing vert (and treadmills can max, what? 15% incline?). Andy had a great idea using stairs (per UK building code, incline for stairs could max around 75%, though what he was on was probably closer to 50%), but he had to spend half of his distance just resetting - he likely only climbed about 60-70% of his total time. Anna and Rick had it the worst, as roads very seldom exceed a 25% incline, and, like Andy, they spend half the distance running back downhill to reset their ability to gain vert. Still, top notch effort by all four of you.
For this challenge a water slide or large slide to climb stairs, then slide to the bottom, similar to Anna's strategy but with out the added weight of a scooter.
Uphill vs downhill challenge. Location: the steepest hill. Team Anna and Rick runs downhill and team Kate and Andy runs uphill. Total uphill/downhill length (not elevation) is 2 km. Anna and Rick may walk, or take a cab, back to the top after each leg. Kate and Andy must run down the hill in the same time as their last uphill time. Only uphill/downhill is counted in the results.
Loved it. We don't hate you Anna just like to see you all suffer. Although Andy seems to be quite chilled after the events needs resistance cords or something
You guys performed well despite being in the UK! Great job! On a personal experience, I live in Switzerland, and it does help a lot. The other day, I ran 4 km and went from 400m above the sea level up to 1050m. That was absolutely horrendous!
I haven't finished the video yet, but Kate should win as she is the only one that isn't counteracting the elevation gained by going back down the same hill or set of stairs.
Next Challenge : Who's the best at judging their pace? Each of you run a 10K route, then the following week do the same route but with your watches covered up so you don't know your pace/time.. The closest to the previous weeks time wins.
hi, how about sonia o sullivan, its 20 years this september since she won her olympic silver, maybe some sort of a handicap 5 km race taking into account best times but also age
Another challenge: marathon ride and run...with a partner and 1 bicycle...u and your partner complete 26 mi total alternating between running and riding...u can break up the running and riding any way u want but each partner must ride 13 mi and run 13 mi
We want to add challengers to the next series of Challenge Accepted. Who would you like to see take on the Running Channel presenters? Leave your ideas in the comments section below!
John from motivationtheoryrunning
Or Seth James demoor
ua-cam.com/video/CbCls4c4_dc/v-deo.html XDDD
I think you should add your "Average Joe" runner into the series just to put things into perspective.
You should do running channel viewers vs the running channel 😂
You guys should do a crossover with the Global Triathlon Network team
Would absolutely love that!!
Yes, great idea!
Yes that would be brilliant to watch
Omg yes
Great idea!
I knew Kate would win this, a straight climb for 38 minutes was always going to be tough as there's no recovery inbetween. A great challenge, I enjoyed that.

Can the quickest runner catch the others or will they stay ahead?
Yes!
Aw, shame the challenge series is over. Look forward to the second series! Was great to watch :)
Nice tactics Kate, continuous steady elevation gain with no time wasted with going back downhill.
I really admire all the presenters to run and hold their go pros/cameras at the same time. It is not easy on the arms for the distance they are running.
Thanks Lax!
I have a sneaking suspicion they don't hold the cameras at arms length for the entire run...
You gotta get Mo Farah to do a challenge with you guys, would be awesome!
Ben Parkes, Sarah Place, Flora Berverly, FOD Runner, Welsh runner, Kellogs on the Run, Kofuzi
EDD BUD also.
Ben Parkes great shout.
Rick: It's weighing me down, it's really weighing me down
Everyone: Hahaha!
I think my truck keys gain weight on runs also. Totally get it.

Great suggestion, thanks!
This is official now : Kate is the only clever one of the bunch. Sorry Rick Andy and Anna
Surprised the other three didn't realise that a very long uphill was the only practical solution!
If they all ran on a treadmill would have been fair but would have been a boring video.
Congratulations to all! So proud of Kate who showed a lot of heart and conquered. Nice work all. Rick: I think I can do 1500m in 53 min.
Me: That’s a mountain
😂😂😂
Ikr! Ben Nevis is a bit shy of 1500m and I think the record ascent is over an hour
Mounds of opportunity.
I did think his estimate seemed optimistic!
