@@budahood447_ but figma is Betttter than XD i am myself a UX designer and i have used both and at the end Figma is surely more better than XD and it will be
@@budahood447_ i'm still curious why people say figma is better, i mean you need the internet right if you want tou use figma? or you can use it offline? i think this is very important
Figma wins for me, solely because the team at XD refuses to allow us to change the canvas background color from that light gray color. When you're working with a layout that has a similar background in terms of tint, it makes it really difficult to ascertain where the edges of the UI are.
This is obvious a Figma fan video. You are making XD look basic and without the features that Figma has. I use XD every day at work and works perfectly with all Adobe apps and Adobe fonts. A bit more research next time dude. 😉
Yes, Bro, you are too "biased" in Figma. that’s how I feel in this video. I think, in my opinion, there is no problem or reason to limit you in doing designs for these applications (Figma, Adobe XD, sketch, etc.). It just depends on how you utilized the features of that particular design application.
Lol... - The rectangle you dragged out in XD was literally filled with a white color, I don't know how you didn't notice that. - The sliders work... Just drag up. - You can use the arrow keys to move between art boards in XD! - You can generate a link and send it to anyone you want in XD!! You can add comments, too. Just a few things you're wrong about.
This video only shows that you are more aware of Figma functionalities over XD ones. It is normal for a program to looks more complicated and dull if you don't know how to use it.
4:58 , in XD you can increase the border width in a slider, holding left click in it and moving mouse up and down without input random numbers like you did in the example.
Figma is best for collaboration and that makes it great for administrating design systems. XD is the best layout editor and it's better for prototyping, simulating interactions etc. If your workflow is based on using other industry leading apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator etc the seamless integration XD have with these is an obvious advantage. If Figma speeds up the application engine and makes it faster and not so sluggish, and if the prototyping part gets better it will narrow the gap to XD. That's my take on this after using both applications for some time.
Figma will not speed up the engine because it would mean having to rewrite it entirely. Their engine is web-based, which compiles to WebAssembly and uses WebGL/Canvas. It's pretty cool since you can run a full-featured editor cross-platform and on a browser, but it will never hit the same level of optimization and performance a true native editor would get.
@@isdeonf Well, you CAN use a web application version but Figma is also a desktop application. If the latter is as sluggish and slow as the web application then what's the point.
Good video. I myself used XD solely as it integrates so well with the Adobe Suite. There are features I like more in XD which are cleaner and easier to use. Oh and let's not mention the great shortcuts which Adobe is on top of the game. Figma does lack some of these and getting used to the shortcuts are weird, however I do relate with most of your frustrations. After using Figma for a web project I quickly realised it's FAR MORE superior to XD. I mainly use Figma now and the teams thing are AMAZING. I'm still not happy about using the shortcuts and wish I could modify my own keybinds. But all in all Figma is the future of UI and prototyping for the web.
Sketch is Mac only unfortunately and not versatile when working in large teams. Also it's pretty expensive to only be accessible to Mac users. Figma basically takes everything from other UI/prototype software and does it better.
The Ultimate Battle? What a joke. Unless this is a troll / click bait vid (in that case grats you got me) You are cherry picking "small things like that" - random mostly useless features that you like than getting stuck on them. You are clearly bias towards liking Figma and your complaining to support your bias. Also gradients in text... really? How new are you to the internet?
I don't know if this works on Mac but in XD on Windows you can literally click inside any field and drag up or down to slide the value. Also you can easily make a star out of a triangle by increasing the polygon count and dragging in the borders to the middle so that they become all pointy and stuff.
Figma is great for novices and ease of use. XD is better for highly complicated custom designs. Facts, debate over. Either is great, use what you like.
You got the Animate on XD wrong. You can easily animate color or object via hover or toggle by making it a component and then just making the edits to the 2nd state
It's simple. XD users remember to write feedbacks to Adobe team. Your opinion might be realized. Let's tell what cool things about Figma are and improve XD. Sometimes, I don't like tools that required the internet
Figma seems focused on collaboration, but when trying to work with vectors or images it's fairly frustrating. When in XD you can drag them over from AI and edit them in Photoshop. Not so easy in Figma.
Figma might be nice but i cannot choose something that will charge me for having N files, where in XD i can create and send as many mini files as I need
XD still wins when it comes to prototyping. And when working with vectors, I tried to copy a vector file from AI and paste it to figma and the result was frustrating.
Figma. Hands down, figma killed Adobe, for me. It doesn’t do everything, like the PS+AI+InD combo, however in UI & UX design, Figma takes the cake. Adobe is so far behind it’s no longer the 800lb gorilla it used to be. XD is trash. Always has been.
Ed: "Adobe XD vs Figma The Ultimate Battle!" Me: What battle? XD got dragged. 😂 Thanks for this video. I've been doing a lot of backend stuff over the last couple of months and lost track of where Adobe XD and Figma were. I need to prototype a web-app, and will use Figma. Gotta watch a tutorial first for all the little "gotchas" tho haha. Best wishes mate 🙌🏽
The main reason I like Figma better than XD is because XD keeps freezing and/or crashing and the program is up to date. Happens on both my Mac and my PC
Hmm with zero experience with either I found XD, where I had a very complex mockup in a matter of days and was a breeze to use vs Figma, which was way too confusing and couldn't accomplish anything... All of them seem to be a waste of time IMO though as we all just want the ability to make a real app without having to use multiple things to accomplish it... Very few accomplish this
I'm currently working with XD on my project at work. I've always worked with Figma on my previous projects and I have to say I really hate working with XD. Figma wins.
In Xd you can just use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to change the coordinates when resizing an object or border. No slider like in Figma, but if you just long press the up and down arrows on the keyboard it does the same thing.
Really wish I would have watched this video prior to diving headfirst into XD. The Figma workflow is levels better than XD, plus collaboration is substantially easier.
Sometimes I just like to work remotely in places where there is no internet access or just don't care about the internet for a while, and with XD I can still be very productive.
I don’t like figma because it’s slow on my MacBook Pro and on my pc. On my pc it’s fine with small projects but once you have heavy projects with lots of imgs things are slow and laggy. That’s the problem with web based apps
XD is only for computer, you cant edit in ipad or other devices. Only see finall projects in other devices. But figma has website where you can create, has app for ipad so when you have ipad pro with keyboard and you are on way somewhere and you have new idea you can do right there but in XD cant. I use adobe for many programs but XD its not good for other devices.

Small details like that make Figma just better ;)
figma feels like it's made by people who also want to use the product for themselves. while xd seems more like a market strategy than a software
At this point I feel that U're just trying to make them add that feature, but yeah, go Gary! 😅

Exactly!
I started out with Figma, on trying Xd, it felt so weird.
Didn't notice all these then.
Love both, but XDs integration with Creative Cloud is super sweet, like editing an image in photoshop.
If you make the button a component in XD you can edit the hover state, easier than making a ton of artboards

How to be wrong:
XD has mostly the same sliders as Figma. You just have to slide up and down rather than left and right.

Figma is the GOAT

You got the Animate on XD wrong. You can easily animate color or object via hover or toggle by making it a component and then just making the edits to the 2nd state
You also got sharing wrong on XD you can publish it and create link for review
Most of these things He says you can't do in XD you can, but the workflow is different

Figma requiring authenticated (paid) users to do things that should be free like Inspect and Comments is a non-starter
Figma cause your friends might not have Adobe XD
The real question though is how does figma compare to ligma?
Lol... XD is mainly for prototyping... You don't need that much flexibility
Did u ever try framer / protopie?
I haven't seen such a biased comparison in my life, wow.
In Adobe XD u can increase border or any other that got input in right panel just by clicking, holding and move mouse up or down. Similar to Figma

Two apps made by the same company are probably supposed to have more compatibility than a third party app
That's not prototyping. That file compatibility. Ai and XD are from the same company.
Use Figma to directly draw vector in it.
