Guys stop getting so mad at him, He was experiencing advanced starvation and his mind was messed up. You're also mad at him for not digesting the dog? If any of you did your research, you would know that if you experience advanced starvation, you won't be able to digest large portions of food.

Him eating his own dog goes to show you just how strong the brain’s survival instinct really is. It’ll do whatever it takes as long as it means staying alive
All has to do with ur mental strength. Weak minded people will eat the dog when it was clearly the wrong choice to make considering his body rejected it. Especially when he was with him for the entirety of his journey just for him to be found the next day.

@@justenzo6342 after a while without solid foods your body adjusts to whatever you are eating. This is also why he threw up the berries, he needed to slowly introduce them into his diet but of course being lost on the jungle doesn't really give you much time to do things like that

Eating the dog would be a very hard decision to make but then while your body is shutting down from starvation its actually scary what you would do to survive

I had been on the brink of starvation before and when I had finally eaten I also threw up what I had. I remember I couldn't walk anymore and was only shaking on the ground. It's really scary.

It made me sad too when he ate the dog, I was hoping he would be able to stop himself, but watching and reading a lot of survival stuff, I know enough that dehydration and starvation can mess you up big time. Some people even resort to cannibalism.

How is no one talking about the dog finding him again after 2 weeks in the jungle, seems impossible.
Dogs have a great sense of smell and can track down owners. This dog's best chance of survival was reuniting with his human after they got separated at the white water rapids.
Cashoe probably tracked Benedict's scent and trail through the jungle for those 2 weeks.

One of my great Uncles got lost from his unit in New Guinea for two weeks, The natives were cannibals and head shrinkers. He made it back but had jungle rot on his legs and they wanted to amputate his legs but he refused. Lived into his mid 60s
