  • You've probably met a few of Jim Wagnon's very cool Ford Motor Company cars from the 1960s that we've already featured. If not, check them out in the links below. This is one of the rarest in his collection and is becoming his "go to" daily ride around Phoenix! It still wears its original patina but has had a heart transplant with a few upgrades. Check it out and let us know what you think?

    Fun Fact: The 60 full-sized Ford cars, same sheet metal as a Meteor, was one year body because it was too wide. The car, at 81½ inches, were actually wider than normal limits, and technically should have been sold with orange “clearance” lights on the roof. LOL

    My first car, when I was 15 in '74, was a 60 Starliner. Of course I wish I still had it. This Meteor is probably rarer than a '60 Edsel, and a 2 door wagon too! The engine and transmission are really nice additions. You've done a great job.

      Very cool comment and thanks for watching! Actually the '60 Edsel is rarer and wish we had one of each!

      @@IfThisCarCouldTalk Do you know if any Edsels were sold new in Canada? You are right about the 1960 Edsels in terms of numbers built - by a lot, but I wonder if more of the '60 Edsels were saved than the '60 Meteors? Cars of this era rusted bady. I've see 4 or 5 1960 Edsels in person, but only one '60 Meteor. I'm not Canadian. Maybe the 1960 Meteors were popular and were preserved.

    The '60 Meteor wagon looks like a '60 Chevy wagon at the back!

    I saw this car in Vancouver when I moved there in the early 90s. I remember remarking to my friend "Look at that massive station wagon!". Whatever made it move from North Bay to Vancouver is the only reason it survived.

    That is such a cool car, and a real sleeper she'll surprise people with all the power she has. Jim, you did a great job bringing her back to life.👍👍👍

    Hi I'm the guy whose friend owned this car in Vancouver at least untill the early 1990s when I last saw it I last rode in it when we went to the 1986 Vancouver World's Fair. Glad to see it survived I owned a 1955 Meteor Niagara from 1984 until last year.

    It appears the 1960 model of the Meteor was a fairly subdued modification of the 1960 Ford . My recollection is that in some other years the Meteor styling was a bit more flamboyant. Thanks for sharing this.

    Great to see a vintage Canadian car.

    Amazing that there was anything left of it after northern Ont. winters. I'm Canadian so I know how many cars from Canada from that era have long since turned into a pile of rust. Incredibly rare car and so nice to know that a least one of these survived. You always have the most interesting cars on this channel. Thanks.

    Great car, I've only seen one US '60 Ford 2 door wagon, and several Falcons. I am in Mesa, have a '60 Comet 2 door wagon, also an original six/3 speed, also a V8 conversion with a 302 and C4. Its not Canadian, but it's rare enough that a few have asked me if it is.

    Very cool. Where do you get the autolite battery ?

    • @IfThisCarCouldTalk
      @IfThisCarCouldTalk  2 дні тому

      Hi and thanks for watching. That battery is a reproduction available from most Ford or Mustang parts vendors. There is also a top plate that fits over a more modern battery to make it look like and original one. Keep watching!

    So do you think you will ever sell it? Because it's so beautiful and very much my ultimate favorite year of old Ford car bro really want to talk to you about this and perhaps get together and make a deal? I'm in Enilda Alberta Canada's north country. Please don't ignore this message? I'm no dumbass either!

      Jim didn't do any body work on this car since he has owned it. Just tried to buff the old paint some. Who knows the life it lived before.

      I bet it's shadows/lighting and the paint is stained from gas being spilled in that area
