  • This is just a video of how I apply printed vinyl to a sign board. I'm using Avery Dennison cast film with compatible laminate, and the substrate is max metal. Sorry for no sound, had someone talking the whole video in the background.

    put the tape in centre is better for good alignment. liner cutting knife from centre is time saver.

    This vinyl print water proof?? And how much long it color life?

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  3 роки тому

      Hi, Thank you for the comment. Yes it is water proof once it is applied to the board. Life of the print is roughly 5 years before fading, depending on sun exposure.

      If we use indoor then how much long lasting?

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  3 роки тому

      @@pavoartsonline5146 yes sir! It all depends on the type of vinyl used. Most indoor vinyl's are polymeric calendared vinyl. Which is the cheapest, lowest quality vinyl you can buy. I would say it would not be a good option for something that will be in or exposed to water.

    What panel do you recemond to stick the vinyl on for indoors? Also I want to put 3D letters with lighter reflectant.

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  3 роки тому

      Hi, It would depend on what your doing with it. I would say probably like a PVC or Foam core board. As for the 3D letters, I'm not really sure on that one. Thanks

    hi there what material vinyl did you use on this one. i wanna use soemthing that easy to lift back up so i can easily make and adjustment as needed. ive dealt with to many agressive tack and its hard to lift back up and when i do lift it will stretch the material . most of the time i just started using rapid tac solution to make it easir for me.

      Hi, I typically use 3M 40c with 8508 laminate. this was a pretty long time ago but I'm pretty positive that's what it was. I've used it for a long time and had good results. the initial tack is low but once squeegeed it's pretty tough. Thanks for the comment!

      @@Blackcreekcustoms oh that is a little pricer vinyl that i use. if you dont mind me asking what did you charge for this and what was the size of this

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  2 місяці тому

      I honestly don't remember. I currently charge $320 for a single sided 4x8 but need to go up on that some. Haven't revised my pricing since the first of the year. So it was probably around $200 for the board and print/lam. Then I would have added a half hour labor for ripping the board longways like that. And probably some time for artwork. So probably $250 - $300 total before tax.

    so if there is no white underlayer on clear vinyl it can be used for backlightign?

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  3 роки тому +1

      I don't think I'm quite understanding your question... Are you printing on clear vinyl and applying it to clear acrylic? If so, I don't think that would work for a backlit sign. You could add white defuser vinyl to the clear acrylic, then apply your clear print to the other side and that would probably work. Or just go with white acrylic. Let me know if I misunderstood your question. Thanks!

      @kwisclubta7175 2 роки тому

      You use translucent vinyl for backlit signs, not clear, unless you're using trans AND clear for better saturation when lighted.

      Yeah agreed, I'm not great at editing the videos lol. I used an app on my phone to edit it and that's all it would let me put. Couldn't even add a second song. I normally wouldn't even put music on it but there was a ton of noise going on in the background when I was videoing this one. Thanks for the comment.

    Once it’s applied, can the outline be cut with a cnc machine?

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  2 роки тому

      I'm sure you could. I've never tried it with a CNC. I have applied vinyl and cut out shapes with a jigsaw and that works for the most part. I apply masking tape over the print to keep the saw guard from scratching the print. Sometimes it will lift the edge of the print though so you have to be careful.

    • @Blackcreekcustoms
      @Blackcreekcustoms  4 роки тому +1

      I think that was Avery Dennison cast vehicle wrap vinyl. which I normally would not use for a sign it's just what I had loaded in my printer at the time and the customer was in a hurry for the sign. Normally I would use 3M IJ40C laminated with 8508 for a outdoor sign like that.
