- This video shows Mike and Yvonne returning to the UK for Christmas. The journey, starting at 4.30am, from their house in Torrevieja to their UK Cleckheaton home in West Yorkshire.
A two mile walk in the pouring rain to Torrevieja Bus Station then the 40 minutes bus ride to Alicante Airport, a plane to Manchester, two trains to Low Moor and a taxi to Cleckheaton.
We also give a glimpse of our family Christmas with 13 of us in attendance.
Covid has played a part in our absence from UA-cam this past few weeks but it's great to be back and we look forward to more videos soon. The next will be about the 90 days rule we have now found ourselves in since we left The European Union.

Buenos dias Mike and Yvonne 🤩 Great video as always not to long but fantastic information 👍🏻 I’ve followed Shaun from the start of his journey and now I’m following you guys lol 😆 I’ve been going too Torrevieja for many years as I was a European lorry driver as have see the many changes to the area over the years especially the shopping mall at La-Zenia Boulevard. We bought our holiday home in Sucina in 2018 in the Murcia region as the property purchase tax is on 11%. Our dream location would of been around the Denia region but it’s a little expensive like buying a house in Cheshire lol 😆 We are hoping to get out in June this year so if you two are over I’ll message you and maybe we could have a coffee ☕️? Thinking of moving to torrevieja, permanently, going to visit in April and look at properties, we have two cat’s so can’t go back and forth, love your videos, retired now and it’s to cold in Nottingham lol

Hi Julie, yes it would have made more sense to book a taxi under the circumstances but we like to walk for exercise and we didn't know about the rain until we got out of bed at 4.15am, and by that time we thought we would bite the bullet and just do it. It did make the brandy taste a lot better.

Pleased to see you both recovered and well again after covid. Quite a trip back from Spain but nice to see you back safe and enjoying Christmas with your lovely family. Restrictions have been scaled back now for Spain and I have booked to go to Torrevieja end of Feb for a 2 week visit. Thanks again for your videos ..keep well and enjoy the great British weather ! Hi Philip, yes it was a long day, coming back from Torrevieja to UK, catching covid in the process, but all is well now after all the problems. It's great to get back to the videos Nice to know restrictions have eased in Spain, especially the travel restrictions, it should encourage a lot more to go and enjoy sunny Spain. I'm a 67 year old male traveling alone to Torrevieja in April for the very first time. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi Dan, Torrevieja is a great place to visit. As long as you have done the travel form and have the QR codes on paper or on your smartphone and you have your covid passes from the NHS website - ( I have a video about how to fill in the travel form to go to Spain ua-cam.com/video/g5fzItKaFkU/v-deo.html ) make sure you have more than six months left on your passport and you should be fine. Hi Mike & Yvonne, glad you have both recovered now after being unwell with Covid. I have a question for you how do you get on getting medical insurance for 90 days because I’ve been informed I can only get it for 30 days ? Thanks it would be great for your input.
Hi Barry, when we went last time, COVID was in the mix between August and November we couldn't get or afford travel insurance. We did however have our GHIC cards which cover treatment in Europe and some world countries the same as a local would get in their country. Have a look and get yourself a GHIC card if you haven't already got one. They used to be called EHIC cards before BREXIT but they are now GHIC. They still exist and give you the same cover as they did before BREXIT.
It's not the same as travel insurance but it covers basic health care. Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.

it was great to remove the mask when we got back to UK. Obviously not possiblein Spain at that time especially in the airport. It was strange after all that time in Spain to go where no-one was wearing a mask especially on public transport. Thanks for watching.
