Speaking of the show, i used to follow one person on Instagram. Unfollowed her recently because she and her followers mocked a lot who were criticizing the series.
It’s been eleven years since the reboot and this show was a sequel to that first game, but where the game threw you into a fight to survive on a hostile island, this does a flashback tomb raid then a jump cut to after the first game with her trying to come to terms with the loss of her father figure. The pacing is a bit meh and if you hadn’t played that first game you really would be lost as to what is going on and after so many years I didn’t remember any of the supporting characters (but I still remember Chris Barrie from the Angelina Jolie movies). There were a couple of action scenes that were good, but you were left kind of waiting around for them to start. This is a show that lives in the shadow of what came before and I felt no great need to watch beyond the first episode so I have no idea if it got better or worse. My ignorance amuses me!
I saw this show on netflix's landing page for days, but tbh, when i saw yet another stunning and brave wowman in the thumbnail i lost the passing interest i had. This could very well be the best TV show since Babylon 5, but you what they say, stunning and brave means stale.
This series is good its base off of the last 3 Tomb Raider games that started from PS3 to PS4. Great series if you are a fan of Tomb Raider or those games. I have played those games from PS3 to PS4 and they were great games. Hopefully the next Tomb Raider game is good just like the last 3 was.
Letting Phoebe Waller-Bridge be in charge of a Lara Croft movie is like allowing Yugo to redesign Ferrari. The only thing being "empowered" here is mediocrity.

They should remake, scene for scene, word for word the TV show 'Relic Hunter', just changing the names of the characters.
It's time we start a campaign to have Embracer remove Crystal Dynamics off the Tomb Raider IP. They do not have the desire to make actual TR/Lara content. They're more focused on trying to rebrand her for no reason other than they hate the brand that it is. Honestly sick to death of my childhood franchises getting butchered by these idiots.
it wasn't just the story it was designs too, cuz people were pissed at her manliness in this how she's basically a guy. but her being whiney and honestly a damsel in distress which is irony given the people making it. it just did not seem like a good series

It isn't even real anime too, just the American stylized version.

This is such a shame expecially for Hayley Atwell man, as Hayley is a fantastic talent and a brilliant laugh, nothing to her fault. Towards how she played Lara,
as she was only going by the overall script delivery.
So it's definitely a solid disappointment that the script writers drop the ball in knowing how to create Lara Croft to be intriguing through it's creative template that it has.

I'd definitely be open in seeing Hayley Atwell take on a better crafted story within a live action Tomb Raider film. Anyday mind as it works a lot stronger by live action i feel.
You know i absolutely loved Alicia Vikander's portrayal of Lara Croft and her Tomb Raider film, i know that got a little bit of blacklash in the day. But to me Alicia's Tomb Raider in my mind is better than Jolie's in a lot of ways. 🇬🇧
It seemed like Lara Croft was a lot more successful when she was written by men.
I wonder if this latest Lara Croft was a hit with little girls who like being overly supervised by their feminist mommies. That was clearly the target audience.
