I got into Sherlock Holmes through Holmes pastiches where Moriarty was a huge figure, so I too was surprised and disappointed at how little he actually appears in the stories. Congrats on finishing them all!
Abhorsen is hands down one of my favourite novels. Can't tell you how many times I've read it, and I'm still a sobbing mess at the end. Wasn't sure what I wanted to read next, but The Upside of Unrequited has been on my shelf for a while and I could use a cute, happy read!
UPSIDE OF THE UNREQUITED is an amazing book!!! I haven't laughed so much in so long at a book as I did with this one. It's just sooooooo cute and sooooo good!!!
Ohhh... I'm sad you ended up not reading Circe, I was looking forward to your thoughts. I'm so excited for that book since I heard about it in your haul a few months ago :) But I'm glad you liked what you read this month :D
Oooooh, you finished Holmes, yay! :D I read each of the books individually over a period of a few years and pretty much loved them all although I reread The Sign of the Four this year and didn't think it was quite as good as I remembered it.
I get EXACTLY what you mean with the Sherlock Holmes Stories. I'm in the middle of the Stephen Fry audiobook and it's very good but also very long. Andrew Scotts Portrayal of Moriarty is my favourite thing about the BBC show and I get that there is not enough Moriarty in the books. And I get the rating too, although I'm leaning towards 4/5 stars. But I expected it to be a 5/5... oh well.
Last summer I tried to start on the complete Sherlock Holmes... I made it through the first 3 books. The writing definitely dated and a bit slow, but I always enjoy the conclusions. I too was waiting for Moriarty, that’s for the heads up!👍 On another note, have you read much Agatha Christie? Her books are not too long and always a great pay off! Thought you’d want to know.
I get what you're saying about Mal, but if their relationship was healthy and wonderful, then most of the story wouldn't have happened. Pretty much every time Alina was left on her own was when we saw plot development and her own personal development. I think their off-kilter and frustrating relationship was one of the most important elements.
If you want good Sherlock Holmes (with moriarty!!) read The House Of Silk and then Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz. They’re the “official continuations” if you believe in that stuff 😂😂😂 AND THEY ARE BOTH SO GOOD. and obviously moriarty very heavily features in moriarty :p
' mal ' in frensh means : evil ; hurt ; harm ... is diss a coincidence ? XD plus she killed one of my fav character ever in the silliest way possible ??? ugh u should read six of crows now :)
ruin and rising is a disappointing addition to the trilogy and some of us dont even consider it as canon. but dont lose hope bc the grishaverse still remains unique and effervescent with dynamic characters. six of crows restores your faith in the grishaverse and hopefully king of scars does too.
can u please do a video on how you flag your books
F YASSSSS !!!👏👏
Imagine if Benedict Cumberbatch narrated the audio book. That would be amazing, I could listen to him talk for 75 hours ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
that would be amazing!
I don't listen to audiobooks but I would be on top of that so fast xD
He does a few, but I havent listened to any of them yet.
I LOVE YOU
I LOVE YOU MORE

Mal is the worst. He really brought the Grisha trilogy down for me.

These books sound really interesting...........
Are you planting to watch the fma anime?
I really didn't care for Mal either, and I gave up on the Grisha trilogy after the first book oops
Well done on the reading!
I want to read all the books you mentioned.. but I don't have any of them.. I have other books but I need more #booknerdproblems

GAHHHHH I just got to the end of the Moriarty story in my complete collection and I was looking forward to seeing more of him. That’s a bit annoying!
And every time I feel like I'm the only one that actually likes Mal xD
Good to know xD

Same for Ruin and Rising... omg I hate Mal
Canada gets mini eggs all year round now if you need some mailed to you
YES, GO CANADA! I will keep this in mind ;)
Why don't you consider writing one for yourself. I would definitely read it.
I don’t think anyone likes Mal tbh 😂 Nikolai is the only reason I kept reading the series
