@@quintrankid8045 The Stalingrad movie I'm referring to is titled, Stalingrad, if I'm not mistaken. It's a German movie subtitled in English. Starts off in Italy with a bunch of German soldiers who've been sent there for a bit of rest and recuperation after the fighting in North Africa. From there, they get news they're being sent to fight in the east. The east they're being sent to turns out to be Stalingrad. I give the movie an 8 out of possible 10. Maybe 8.5. And no, I haven't seen Breakthrough. Hadn't even heard of it in fact.

WWII was brutal in too many aspects ! Were they possessed by some evil spirit . But the sad reality is that these events once took place in innumerable numbers .Perhaps the reality was too horrible too discuss in words . But one fact that remains ,just like one side was resorted to killing unnecessary on mere suspicions , another one too responded to that with equal brutality 😣 .They were shooting as if they were hitting harmless baloons ! And specially the mistreatments were given to women was abominable . What the Nazis did to soviets women was cruel , that must have enraged the soviets , which is why so many German women were subjected to same kind of brutal and barbaric treatment when tide of the war changed .

Every soldier in the German Army recognized the Frozen Meat award, infantry in particular. And if they're behind Soviet lines they should keep better tactical distance between each other. And if they were so low on fuel why not stop the truck where the Sdkfz recon vehicle and Kubelwagen was knocked out and drain their gas tanks. Basic SOP in the Wehrmacht.

@@rolgor Well I've seen dozens of WWII movies over the last six decades. Many of the better ones were made by the Germans, Finns or Hungarians actually. It doesn't take much to get basic things right, even in a low budget film. Guess I just know too much for my own good. Having had four uncles in the German Army on the Russian front during the war, as well as ancestors fighting the Russians back to the time of Frederick the Great...well yea, I'm partisan and particular. Oh, I should mention I'm a 30 year veteran of the U.S. Army and had to deal with those Soviets and their twisted mentality for a long time. Can't believe they almost universally, to this day, still down play all the lend lease assistance America provided them...it made a huge difference in their victory over the Germans and the whole of eastern Europe.

@@Kaiser1254 Since the majority of the audience the movie was made for wouldn't know what a Barbarossa ribbon was or what it signifies they wouldn't have known how long the LT had been there. You have it right. You know to much. It's hard to watch a movie when you see the mistakes that 98 percent of people don't notice because they know nothing about the subject. Westerns and war seem to be the worst for me. I've watched plenty of both in my 6 decades and as a vet I to notice things but like I said, thats every movie made, I try not to let it ruin the movie for me.
We never should have done lend lease. Since the Russians and Germans were such buddies when they invaded and massacred the poles we should have stopped our advance when Hitler turned on Stalin and watched why they destroyed each other then gone in and picked up the pieces.
