Just remind you that a band has to evolve because if they don't and stay the same they'd be boring. I personally like their new style, you are free to not like it, but I'm sure that ATC will do what they want. If you want to hear more Dan and Will, go to an ATC concert. You won't be disappointed.

But to evolve does not automatically mean better. It`s totaly fine if you like their new style, but I`m gonna pass on this album, maybe next time.
I always wonder why bands or singers are supposed to be evolving nowadays.. Did acdc evolve? Did Elvis presley or nirvana? Ofc they are free to evolve if they feel like it (aka if it brings more money) but I used to be the biggest fangirl and now I'm just like no thank you (and that breaks my heart tbh)
Stefanie T. Yes, Nirvana did evolve. Their second album was pretty different to Nevermind. Also they only ever got to release two if they’d lasted longer I’m sure they would have evolved

I don't get why people are complaining about ATC's new style, I personally like them in all of their different era's. Also, why is everybody saying how Chrissy's voice is making it harder to hear the guys' drum/guitar playing? I hear all of their parts.

real talk i know the lyrics are "if i look in the mirror will i see through their eyes" but i first hear "will i see through their lies" and i think it sounds better or like it makes more sense to me so i just keep singing it like that

They're just upset because their sound has changed.
Because apparently it's weird for a band to change style/genre between albums. Except pretty much everyone does it, especially in this scene (alternative/punk/emo). Notable examples: P!atD, FOB, TØP, Paramore, MCR, Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons... but even pop artists do it, like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and, well, even Justin Bieber.
@@luukvandepasch7923 It's just a huge shock to the system to hear a rock artist change genre to something a whole lot poppier. Linkin Park changed from metal on The Hunting Party to the quieter mainly electronic sound, which was the biggest genre shift out of all the artists you've listed. So a lot of people that listen to bands for ROCK music and then, of course, they release a poppy song like Almost Forgot, people aren't going to like it. Artists change, but rock to pop is a huge shift. Modern day country is very poppy (see Meant to Be by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line), and even a pop shift to R&B isn't that surprising because of how popular it is. It's the sudden lack of guitar and real drums, as well as dumbing down of the lyrics that make people hate rock to pop shifts.
That said, this is my favorite song from the album thus far, which really made up for Personal.
@@cassiemyersconcertvids I can understand that. But not everything you said actually applies to ATC. First of all, their lyrics haven't been dumbed down at all. Especially Personal. Did you know Chrissy wrote that song in honor of a dear friend who died of cancer? And no, I'm not saying that because of that, you have to like the song, but it might make you appreciate it a bit more.
And the other point I don't think truly applies to ATC is the sudden lack of guitars and drums. First of all, they're technically on the album. And all played by Dan and Will. Just edited somewhere down the line to get exactly the sound they wanted. Plus, if you want to hear the songs with unedited drums and guitar, you can go to a live concert of them. You won't be disappointed.
And I'd also like to address the fact that most of the covers they've released were (at least in the original version) way more generic pop than any original work they have released so far. And that there was a clear pop vibe going on in their earliest work (especially Guessing and the Infinity EP) so their roots are just as pop as they are rock... people just tend to ignore that, it seems. (I know, their early work did have "real" guitar and drums, but my point is that even in the very beginning of their career, they showed a very clear interest in (also) making pop music)
