    Awesome video. Also have an At4 but in solar flare (not my first choice of colour but the price was right) and wanted to build it up as well. UA-cam is full of Tacoma builds so it’s great to see a GMC overland vehicle coming to life, thanks for doing this 🍻

      I had a hard time, deciding between this color and that. I think those look cool! no joke on the Tacoma builds… Definitely have several more things planned for this one, but we will see where it ends up! Thanks for following along!

    The new wheels/tires added exactly 1 inch of ground clearance. So the rear differential is now 10.5 inches.
    I forgot to put that in the video.

I just use offroad/adventure build shops for actual modifications. Love this vid. I've been looking at the ZR2 which comes with 285 70s, and I would go up one size like your 285 75s.

      They literally ruined three of four wheels the last time I used them. Had to fight with them for over a month before they agreed to replace the three wheels that they trashed. The lack of awareness to do it on the first one, and then repeat it two more times is crazy to me. But thank you for watching, and for the kind words!

    When I was fitting my 33's, I used a heatgun to heat up the inner wheel fenders, used a hammer to bend them while hot, and used a spray bottle with cold water to flash cool the plastic. Granted I have a Lexus GX460. After the heat bending and a (common for GX) body mount chop, no rubbing at all on my setup, and I was able to keep the inner fenders intact.
    If you plastic fender liners are still in the way, the heat gun method might work.

    Great video. Im torn. Like the AT4X and ZR2, but the practicality of a daily driver and a little overland. Additionally, I want the ability to tow the boat. I might have to stick with AT4 or Trail Boss / Z71 just to get that 7,700 lbs.

    • @TrailTherapyNash
      @TrailTherapyNash  11 місяців тому

      I heavily considered the AT4X… but at the end of the day, an extra $12,000 for lockers was just so hard to justify knowing that I would replace wheels and tires on either one. Awesome trucks, but you certainly pay for it.

    • @kx8960

      I have a '24 ZR2, and for the same MECHANICAL equipment, the ZR2 is a lot cheaper. For me, the interior is MORE than upscale enough. So, if actual 4WD capability is what you're after instead of a fancy interior, the ZR2 is a much better buy than the AT4X, but the towing issue would still be the same.

    Do you feel like the weight of the tire is an issue? Or feel like it needs to be re-geared for the larger tire size? I just did the 2in lift and put 285/70/17’s Falken wild peak at4w’s and the weight of the wheels feels like it’s too much.

    You probably should have gone to a -1 , -18 is too much tire poke and will make it rub on the inner fender.
    I run zero offset on Fuel Shoks, with a 2019 1500 Trailboss. With 275 wide tires. The tread is fully flush with the Fenders and the Tire side walls poke out.

      If I knew I was staying at stock ride height, I would have went with a zero offset. But the lift kit is now installed, the video on that will be coming soon!

      @TrailTherapyNash I'm definitely going to check out that Video. But I'm not sure you'll get the results you are after. For reference, I'm running Toyo 275/70/18 , which is 33.2" on the -1 Fuel Shok. I still Rub on max lock on my OEM mud flaps on the inside of the Fenders. Also, if you are running a spacer lift, know that you are actually reducing suspension travel.

    Great video and love the new look of your truck! I have a 20023 Black ZR2 and am considering the same rims, for the weight and Bead Grip. Couple questions...did you reach out to Method and ask them what gives with the 3-4 pound difference? Seems like quite a bit to be off advertising by. Also, did you check out Brink Wheels in your searching? They are flow formed and super light (legit), I just haven't seen many user out there with them for some good feedback, but they look nice. Thanks! Sub'd - Jeff

    Sweet truck! I don’t get the desire to push the tires out so far. I know it’s a personal preference, but I can’t stand that look. If you put that size tire on the factory wheel, they probably would have fit without rubbing, and in my opinion looked better. Beadlocks are overrated for what most people are doing. I used to run my Wrangler tires at 12-15lbs on 8” steelies and never lost a bead. Run my RZR tires on factory wheels at 9-11lbs. No problems.

      Thanks! I think I probably would have preferred a zero offset for slightly less poke. That said, the way it sits doesn’t bother me at all. 12 pounds on Steelies is crazy, great to hear! Thanks for watching!

    Like the vid, minus the music. Idk if it’s the volume or music type. Food for thought.

    I will never go back to Discount Tire. They had a bunch of weak teenagers working in the back a used putty knifes to remove the balance weights and scratched the black coating off of my concave wheels on my Escalade.

    I work at discount tire, sensors cost 60$ no matter if you buy your tires with them or not, and why didnt you just keep the oem sensors instead of buying new ones?

    Why? Putting too big of a tires ? Why void your car warranty destroying your car wheel well

    • @TrailTherapyNash
      @TrailTherapyNash  11 місяців тому

      Because big tires make small holes. I don’t care about the warranty on my suspension components. They’ll all be swapped out completely before the warranty is even up. Thanks for watching.

    I bought a 2024 Colorado ZR2 mid March, and am planning on putting 285/75/17's on it using the OEM wheels and offset (to prevent rubbing). Seeing other guys have issues with rubbing, I'm convinced that keeping the OEM offset is key to fitting larger tires without issue. I think that with a little tweaking of the area where the spare is (slotting the tire heat shield mounting holes and insulating it, wrapping the exhaust there with Thermo-Tec, and slotting the hole on the rear tire stabilizer bracket), I can even fit the larger tire under there. It's only an extra 1/2" in tire radius for a ZR2.
