between 2004 and 2007 yellowcard was my absolute favorite band, they had a song for every one of my teenage moods and feelings. then i got "older" and i moved on to other bands and musicians, but listening to their music, even the newer one, still feels like coming home. like i'm meeting my old friend from school who still knows me better than anyone else. thank you for everything guys
Love this! Yes! i love the way you describe it. That’s perfect! That’s how they make me feel too. Fell in love when Ocean Avenue came out, and they’re still my favorite band. i’ll spend a month or two obsessing over some new found music, but every time i come back to Yellowcard i feel like i’m reconnecting to my baseline.
I remember when this song came out when I was 16. If I could tell that younger version of me that life would be okay at 28, I would. I was so anxious and depressed back then.
3:20 Seldom have I heard such a perfect blend of instruments, voices and pure emotion displayed in a song. The moment it hits you it feels like an adrenaline rush to the deepest of your soul.
Yellowcard is definitely, probably my go-to band whenever I have a bad day, and this is probably my favorite Yellowcard record, bc of songs like this, “Southern Air” title track, A vicious kind, you get the drill, meaning boom, boom, boom, boom, one good song after another ... oh and the fact that Cassadee Pope is a guest vocalist, makes a criminally underrated song like this, into a beautiful masterpiece painting #RIPYellowcard #ThanksForTheRide
I had this album on repeat when it first came out, soooo good. very emotional record... same can be said with this song. You're my only hope you're my telescope.
Как же я рад, что живу в одну эпоху с такими сердцами Самое недооцененное музло евер Не могу откомментить каждый видос, но пересматриваю их все - и знаю, что тот, кто это читает - делает тоже самое и так же тихо)

So.. Lost a beloved pet today.. Yellowcard keeps me up, though. Their music just cheers me up. I can't wait to see them live in The Netherlands in February. I'm going to enjoy the heck out of it.
I've been a fan of Yellowcard ever since i heard "Way Away" on SSX3 for Playstation 2. I played it over and over again. Still a fan to this day, actually, they're my favorite band. It's hard to say which album by them is my favorite, it's also hard to pick out my favorite song by them seeing as how i love all their songs. As for a Top 5 though, 5. "How I Go" 4. "Gifts and Curses" 3. "Miles Apart" 2. "Be The Young" 1. "Telescope"
yes.. he sings in the background 'Let's just keep driving on' during the middle of the song.. before the last chorus verse .. Cassadee Pope and Tay Jardine are also singing in the end...
When I first heard this album, this song stuck out to me the least and I always skipped it, but then I started liking it better and better after each listen. It is now one of my favorites
Of the many songs in my head of Yellowcard, this song still echoes within me. Even if I don't relate to i personally, the whole of it resonates with me.
Really cool how Alex Gaskarth and Cassadee Pope lent vocal support to this song. This isn't a song I would have ever expected from Yellowcard, but's fantastic. Maybe the best on the album.
In hindsight a person listening to this would assume that the lyrics sung is towards someone else. Love lost perhaps, or a person that has passed on. Now listen to it with a mindset of you singing this to you.
Yellowcard is very inconsistent over their career, but this song is one of their very strongest, and not even because it has Alex in it. It has some of their very best lyrics - they're sappy, just like everything else Yellowcard does, but they also feel more... powerful, I guess, than their typical sappiness. It's sappy without being cheesy.
2:10 Cassadee starts singing the harmony. I think she also sings the high harmony during the chorus but it could be Ryan. 3:32 Cassadee is singing the high harmony and Alex is singing the low harmony on the lyric "my only hope". It kinda sucks they didn't have any lead lines. Hope that helps!
I had debated on whether I should get their new album or not 'cause I loved their old stuff and I was kind of scared, but I like it. I like it a lot and I want to get it soon. :3
This is my favorite song on Southern Air..... until I hear a different one. Then that one will be my favorite until it's over. The only part that sucks is when it ends.

Forever a Yellowcard fan!

After all these years this is still my favorite song.
RIP my dad, he was my inspiration when no one else believed. he showed me strength in my skin that no one else could see.

Absolutely beautiful. I can't get enough of this song, especially with Alex's lines. c:

19/07/2022 , since 19/11/2012
I love the connection with "A Vicious Kind" :)
WE ARE YELLOWCARD FANS SINCE #### to FOREVER
This is beautiful 3
esta música fica na cabeça
Every day's a gift.
This great song, in the begging (including intro) reminds me so much to Work from Jimmy Eat World. Even Ryan’s voice it’s very similar like Jim’s.
In hindsight a person listening to this would assume that the lyrics sung is towards someone else. Love lost perhaps, or a person that has passed on.

Alex Gaskarth of ATL is on background vocals

Kiska Gaming-Telescopist song :D
When I set up my telescope
Brilliant :D Loving this!

I agree with you, you should buy their other albums, they are really great!!! I recommend you 'ocean avenue' and 'lights and sounds' :)
I fell you man
I had debated on whether I should get their new album or not 'cause I loved their old stuff and I was kind of scared, but I like it. I like it a lot and I want to get it soon. :3

I love this song and all, but am just wondering, why a telescope?

whoever disliked this does not understand true art

Yellowcard really are fucking awesome. Just wanted to say that. Carry on.

Flávio de Embu É uma música que o Ryan escreveu para a tia dele que faleceu, devido ao câncer.
