The roofs on the three point blocks next to the park was added sometime around 1998-2001 at which time the blocks were also reclad. The original blocks had much larger windows, as can be seen from this late 1980's view: www.towerblock.eca.ed.ac.uk/sites/default/files/L49-25.jpg The pointy roof was probably added as a cheap measure to alleviate leaks through the roof, and the ugly cladding was probably done to make heating cheaper. At least it doesn't seem to be flammable kind of cladding... The ground floor was once integrated (like the other two blocks) into the adjacent shopping centre, the remains of which probably is what can be seen on the ground floor, but that section of the shopping centre was demolished and redeveloped around the same time that the roofs were done.
@0:33 "CCTV cameras..." "Oh dear!... Oh NO!..." *LMAO* at the mock concern... comedy gold... Verily, I proclaim these guys are the new Monty Python... @15:52 Another Classic, Triangle Key becomes the Exorcist's cross, LOL!... :D
5m 30 seconds, dude that's not an old FM radio transmitter/antenna it's the replacement TX/RX data panel for the CCTV system. The larger (30GHz drum) looking dishes are the link the Cellular/mobile phone masts.
It is an offence if you break in this includes forcing your way in or using a tool to bypass a lock. Things get rather complex but but they can't really claim you have committed an offence of breaking in if you have the key but they can say you were going equipped. If you use the correct key to get on a roof or you use a triangle key to surf a lift to a secret floor then you have NOT broken in, but the police might still claim that you have as it is common for police to try to screw you over. They might arrest you for going equipped if they search you and find the key. You should only take the keys you need and no more, also you can hide the key up your bum. Also be aware that all of these offences are effectively different depending on if they are current or historical. Current is where you are caught in the act, and historical is where they attempt to charge you using a youtube video as evidence. Going equipped can not be charged historically, so you can not be arrested for uploading a youtube video of secret areas. Breaking in can be charged as historical which is why I don't lock pick. Also don't be surprised if the police come to your house asking questions. The reason they do this is to try and get you to self incriminate as they do not have a crime to charge you with. Do NOT engage in a conversation with them. Tell them that no offences have been committed and answer "no comment" to their questions. Also the offence of suspected burglary does not apply if the police know that you are an urban explorer. But be ready for them to not obey the law and try to screw you over. This is normal for the police, you have to show them that you know the law. To put it simply using the correct key for a door is not an offence, but be ready for the police to try and tell you otherwise.
So refreshing to see the old *superstition about Floor 13 NOT being indulged* i.e. almost every mid- and high-rise tower in Duh USA just numbers the floors 11-12-14-15... childishly omitting 13 because it's "bad luck"...

there were even more cameras in a spar supermarket in Lanzarote than a airport, they're all so close to each other...
if they are close to other security cameras, that means Money waste
Why is there a mitsubishi chime at 13:52 . Also, I think that 'reflector' might be a 900mhz transmitter

That posh tower @14:55 must be... new construction, but not-yet-occupied?... otherwise major trespass on private rooftop terraces, lol...

No, it's a service lift!
That flat with the pointy roof looks like a dumbster. I get the feeling the residents are a bit untidy...
Ugly Soviet-style (NOT Brutalist at all) architecture for coarse people... and dubious migrants, eh wot?

Do you pick the locks on the security doors?
No. I never pick locks. I only ever make peaceful entry.
Beno Lifts I can't find any information on this online but is opening up rooms and cabinets in the UK illegal?

Beno Lifts Thank you for answering my question. Most other people won't.
