Everything has an effect on your standing wave ratio(SWR) I noticed you have an excessive amount of coaxial cable for the bundled up with a zip tie. That causes a choke, and high SWR, which is why most jumper cables are short. Uncoil the jump cable and let it just hang loss or straighten it out, then take new reading...
Enjoyed the video ... good job you've got lots of patience ... and help from baby 806 ! !
Thanks Julian, he is always a big help can’t wait till he’s big enough to go along with me!!! Take care buddy!
I had a CB when I was like 17 in the 80s and man they were great times, met loads of friends and lots of girls🤪 . From my experience some comments you've had give you some great options and personaly had issues with my SWR and it was due to the length of coax . 😁🇬🇧
Heck yeah Chris! Those CBs are a lot of fun, I think they will get a lot better after we properly install the coax and upgrade to antenna (SWR) thanks for watching bro 😎
You need a longer shaft on the bottom to get that transmitter coil away from the cab. Your getting powere reflection shot right back at your antenna and radio with not as much power going outwards.
Thanks for another video 💪🏽
Yes sir Zed!!! Be cool on your stool buddy!!! 🚛💨💨💨
Them power lines can throw it off to
For a future time try closing the door sometimes it helps with grounding and sometimes when the door is open the antenna gets close to the cab and gives higher swrs…the coax needs to be 18 feet long, it’s a must and it can’t be wrapped in little circles you have to wave it instead or big circles will help ……good videos by the way keep making them 👍🏼😎
Thanks Jonathan, the coax is 18’ we need to long wrap the extra instead of the short wrap like we have, I appreciate the view and the input buddy 😎
Coax doesn't have to be 18 ft long, ask DX Commander
How bout parking a bit closer to or inbetween to those overhead power lines and that tin shop
The extra coax could be a problem. It was on mine.
Agreed! Run what you need to get from antenna mount to radio that's it.
good job
🚛💨💨💨👍🏼
Browning BR-78 antenna!
You have aground issue... I'd try scuffing the mirror arm under the mount and put a little grease on it and tighten down. Also wouldn't hurt to upgrade the antenna. I'm a big fan of the browning!
10-4 thinking the same thing on the ground, will be upgrading antenna as well! Thanks for watching!
You need to close the door so the antenna is at normal position.
Those power lines likely could cause interference when tuning!
Your jumper from the radio to the meter is way to long . You want it to be as short as possible with it being that long you never get it right
Appreciate the feedback buddy 😎
Oh and close the door before you check swr
What's up
breaker one nine how bout a radio check c'mon
Gotcha Loud and clear bro!!!!
Uncoil all your extra coax
