A day as an intern with Brie the Plant Lady

No question, Aidan and abby are the coolest teenagers and today we did a lot! From potting up trees and shrubs to gathering seed and clearing a bed we took advantage of the first day of summer!

The best part is that Abby and Aiden actually know what they’re doing. I don’t trust anyone to do garden work because I know they’ll screw things up. “Where’d my Cosmos go? Huh? I thought those were weeds.” 😢

Just love how new plants “accidentally” made it to your house! 🤣🤣 This lack of rain is unnerving right now. I’m soaking my most valuable shrubs/trees and maintaining just 2 small garden areas and my veg. It’s arduous! I’m in total agreement with you on potting those newbies instead of planting them. I’d take it a step farther and tuck those pots into the shade by the fence….too much sun and dryness for thriving right now. Ugh! I’m planning on morning chores and then outta the sun & heat until 6pm. It’s so hot that my hens are hiding out in the shade.

Actually it occurred to today but I think it’s too hot in there. The seed will dry out too fast and germination rates will drop. Waiting for extrication & plumbing to get installed. It’s unbearably hot in there right now.

No. They get paid in equipment, cars, college.
