Thank you from Milton Keynes England a beautiful and really heart felt talk on the ancients I really appreciate what you give us in your knowledge and the connection to our hearts through your ability to emotionally connect to us
So interesting Atyuta..measuring in cyclical time helps in my spiritual journey to see the moving of life as images of eternity. Thank you for your wisdom and your way of unpacking difficult or different subjects that flow through and around all of us.
I've been turning over this betterment aspect of spirituality and overcoming the inner critic. Cycles of time, a rise and fall, makes senses when I look in the rearview. As always, thank you for teaching.
I had a friend when I was younger, who would say something such as ‘I am on the path of enlightenment’ we would laugh as if it is a path, a stroll that one takes at the end which is enlightenment. It’s not a linear concept but one of stillness, maybe best said by Kenneth Patchen ‘all at once is what eternity is’ the personal narrative is much more difficult to transcribe without some kind of hero’s journey literation I wonder how one narrates the cyclical story.
There is a very interesting book, “ The arrow of time” by Coveney Peter , Highfield Roger which says that in primitive tribes the conception of time was cyclical. The seasons was repeating in a cyclical way, so did the fruits and nuts, the way of hunting etc.
In contrast to the modern way of thinking in which time is like a train locomotive always going on.
I totally love that book, Endless Universe. It's so deep. They show -- with scientific theory -- how traces of a universe, sucked back in or whatever, will remain when the new universe is created anew from the remnants of the previous. Whoa. It gave me a whole new dimension of meaning-time when pondering a kalpa. And a great sense that, if I cause damage, remorse isn't nearly enough. The authors researched and communicated and wrote by email and mail across the Atlantic between England and the U.S. after meeting at a physics conference. Did I mention that I love that book?
It sounds like the hero’s journey!

Thank you for sharing!
The movie ‘ The Glorias’, kind of alludes to the cyclical time. You can even kind of see it in the title. It’s on Amazon prime right now, and it’s about Gloria Steinem. maybe check it out.
I just had a crazy thought, what if "progress" describes the moment in the cycle where the circle becomes a mobius strip?
Genius
