yeah..when you look back theres loadsa TSC in the latter jam years like Shopping, War, Bitterest pill Beat surrender and even this...i think if Weller was honest with himself he knew the lads could have pulled it off and wouldve done anything asked off them but PW had enough of the grind associated with The Jam bandwagon..perhaps it was actually poor management..ie. even his dad John shouldve twigged on..Weller needed a break and needed to have some fun within the music industry..and The Jam were victims of that industry in the end.

@@hughhull2646 yip..read a few books on the subject(not Ricks yet)..but it was all a bit shoddy..almost based on greed..Polydor shouldnt have pushed PW and the band so hard and Wellers dad shouldve seen it coming and demanded a break..however the outcome would prob have been the same..but maybe 1 more studio album..despite lovin PW to bits he can be a bit of an arrogant cocky twat at times.
From this window I've seen the whole world pass From dawn to dusk I've heard the last laugh laughed I've seen enough tears to wash away this street I've heard wedding bells chime and a funeral march When as one life finishes another one starts Alright then love so I'll be off now It's back to the lunchbox and workermanagement rows There's gotta be more to this old life then this Scrimping and saving and crossing of lists
Still have this on a 12'' vinyl, 😎 plus a 12'' vinyl of ''Town Called Malice'' the B side ''Precious'' is amazing full volume in a club many moons ago I was djaying in the 80s, 🤗 people are quick to criticise, no band can claim to have every release gold, gold, gold!! Weller is still coming up with the goods today, that is some achievement, respect earned dues paid, 😎
Sorry to split hairs but Precious wasn't a B side, it was a Double A although Town called Malice rightly got most of the airplay. Saw Weller live last month, still giving it everything & still playing Malice for us old timers.
bit harsh buddy..it was a great 7" import..my gerbil chewed the fk outta my sleeve..i let it live but ive never forgot..nor forgiven..R.I.P. Denzil..little shit🐭
