    Thanks!

Could you share which SPRT is used in the measurement? Is it a probe with a matching connector to the 34420a or had it been made to fit?

@Elias Bakken. I'm not sure which model of SPRT was used in the video. They typically come without a connector. Adding the 34420A connector eliminates errors associated with extra connectors. The 34420A connector is excellent for small signals as it eliminates airflow and is held in place with constant pressure.

Right, I've looked at some documentation for the 34420a for a recommendation on which SPRT to use, but not found any. Any suggestions regarding good fit in terms of accuracy and drift? It's not a problem to make a connector, but just wanted to verify that there is no SPRT sold by keysight.

Since the pressure inside the triple point cell varies (slightly) at different depths under the water column, I would think that the as-measured temperature at different depths would vary slightly, too. Is there a "standard depth" at which the temperature is measured, or perhaps a graph of depth-submerged versus temperature?
And is the triple point still measured as 0.0098 Celsius, rather than at the more-commonly cited value of 0.010?

Jim b. Insertion depth can affect the measurement. In the Pond Engineer data sheet the error is listed for different SPRTs.

why does it cost 5k to get that device calibrated

***** The cost of NIST SPRT calibration is based on the number of temperature points that are verified. And how difficult the temperature points are to achieve. In the video we only tested a single temperature point - the easiest one. NIST has a paper on testing at 9 different points. Depending on your needs you might be able to use fewer points.

+Keysight General Purpose Instruments so its like points along a calibration curve - so there would have to be other TP cells

***** Exactly. In addition, to the NIST paper, take a look at the pondengineering website to see the other TP used.

    loled @ air. He's talking about water-vapor myd00d.
The three phases of matter (water in this case).

Wouldn't this be an excellent illustration of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, three in one at exactly the same time and yet three distinctly different persons? Why or why not?
