BTW I made applesauce my applesauce 2x since ur video. Amazing .. used organic farmers golden delicious and excellent tangy red ones. EXCELLENT. Many many apple and anout 10 pints but so good.. 11 month old prefers over motts.;) next will be jams!! Yay
I'm enjoying seeing all your videos showing what you're canning! Love the apple peeler! It's a great investment ( or gift for your favorite person) and makes working apples so much easier!
Mmmmmm...gay-las! I love seeing all the stuff you're canning. That's great info on the air bubbles. People like me would probably not think too much about it. Can't wait to see what your top secret surprise is! ♥️🙏
Very detailed instructions for safe canning. Thank you for sharing. I just watched a guy do open kettle with his applesauce, Yikes ! He claims using a ph tester on finished product proves its just as safe as pressure canning. Dont know if the ph tester proves all the air was pushed out or not. I feel much safer doing it your way. Thank you again.
I have frozen apples cored but the skins are still on. Can I make applesauce with the skins on? I want to make it so I can make your apple bbq sauce. Just found your channel. Love it.:)
Once you cook the apples the skins should fall off pretty easily while they're cooking BUT if you don't want to worry about removing the skins then just puree it really well to ensure that the skins aren't noticeable
Thank you so much. I am canning apple sauce today. I’m fairly new to canning. I canned a batch of applesauce a couple weeks ago and I was just swinging the done water bathed jars around, wiping the water off the top and pushing the tops checking for seals like it was nothing. I am so glad I found your video because I’d watched others applesauce in other videos and no one mentioned this. I really appreciate you took the time to explain this. I do have a question. Is it essential to fill the jars? I didn’t quite fill the jars to the 1/2 inch line. Some were fairly less like an inch or more. Is this dangerous? Will there be too much air in the jar? Your answer would be much appreciated.
If there is too much headspace, it can keep the jar from releasing all the air from the jar and can cause the food on the top of the jar to discolor and possibly spoil.
It is good that you two work together canning. It takes me all day to can a bushel of apples.
My go-to video for canning applesauce. Thanks for sharing!!
