A legend, a true legend. Daniel Kamau and the Lulus Band were the in thing in the sixties all throughout the eighties. He was and still is Njamba ya ruriri.
when i was in secondary at gatanga gituru secondary in seventies that is when DK was riding high and i remember even some girls were going crazy when they hear his music being played. i thought he was not like us
Waa,this guy is a legend. His songs were hits, I remember such songs as"mariana" wendo ni uriru, chiru murata, kanini, nyongo ti ndigana, what can I do, date cia maheni etc.May God give you many more years.1970's your name was known in every home.
I love DK so much, l was born on 15th Dec 1963 and l grew up listening to his music since l was a child. Him and kamaru are legends for sure. God has done him good, h red in s humble yet he has seen a lot.
Thank you kamuresh, when I listen to this song I remember how they use to come in Naivasha . Now this is my request can you organize how we can give some thing for his Retirement PLEASE
One of the greatest of all times!!! I love his music very much and I have nearly all his old original music except a few. May he ling long and healthy life.
Thanx kk for bringing this awesome legend, the high pitched father of contemporary mt benga, live longer dad, u modernized kenyas benga to kungfu,,twist,,rhumba,, country music etc.
No doubt one of my best Musicians. I grew up as a young boy with his music. I particularly liked his song 'Ciru Murata' which described how he was leaving his lover as he was going to America. I loved travelling by plane so I would play the song over and over because I wanted to go and live abroad. Did it come to pass? Yes! There is God in Heaven, so Mr DK, you used to make my day Sir.
I love you was a great hit when l was a child, shiru murata my auntie was saying he sung it for her friend called mweru from githiga who went to USA in the late 60s.
Very nice! Musician like meciria wa wairimu (Cyrus Muiruri) famous for the song ngurumo ya sabasaba with wanganangu despite dying years ago should be featured and follow on his family. Very creative despite being blind.
He helped us enjoy our youthful years. His Songs were well worded and the instruments were well arranged. (My favourite was Z.K WERE ) His down fall started when he stood for a POLITICAL SEAT in Murang'a. He never recovered.
The man is nearly 80 years old and has been quite unwell. Musicians live rough and do not live this long. I saw him in Gatunyu about two years ago and he was worse off Healthwise. He is actually doing well. His voice however is traceable to the early days. He started singing when he was less than 20 years old and he sang for more than 60 years.
Living Legend , may the Almighty give you strength and many more years on this earth. Any Mugithi nights cannot survive without your songs unless Ngogoyo.
Am so interested to know story ya nduru wa gathoni for sure so sad he was forgotten no full stories about him or videos and enough pictures Hope there will be an interview that will give us a story about him
