“It is not my power that subdued you, but your own heart... you cannot escape from your own heart.”
Such a powerful line.
In there Heart means your good or bad thoughts and past actions.
@@tharushagunawardana3913
It reminds me of something a wise old kung fu master once said
“The only real Hell in this World... is it in your heart... where are all the battles must be fought.”
In fact now that I think about it the line by Buddha about not being able to escape from your own heart reminds me of an ancient Middle Eastern quote on the subject about human weakness and the struggle against the inner corruption found in the human heart.
This quote in particular.
“The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?”
- The Holy Bible, The Book of Jeremiah, 17th Chapter, 9th Verse
@@limelightraver5690 your excerpt is 100% true. Because Lord Buddha's all quotes are quoting for our thoughts. Lord Buddha and his followers are know enlighten about thoughts.
This story is a satire. The Jade Emperor is the symbol of this bureaucracy. Buddha is the poison of religion. Sun Wukong is actually a symbol of ordinary people.
Wukong was literally unstoppable. Only Erlang could match him and he managed to escape. They needed Buddha himself to stop him.
So Buddha ends the "unstoppableness" of Wukong.
Actually it is Wukong who stopped himself. Applies to everyone. Only you can stop yourself since equal and opposite forces cancel each other out. Buddha is just a great teacher to Wukong.
Unmatchable but Erlang can matched 😂😂
@@anneyyyyy8025Buddha is a deity 😂😂
I guess what the story is saying is that no matter how vast Wukong's skills and knowledge are, they will still be the trappings of his own heart. So Buddha's palm is actually a reflection of himself, that he can't be truly free because of his desire for greatness.

@Ash Xi nope. Buddha completely rejected upanshads.
@Ash Xi it's not Buddha source it's rejected because it's never been true.
How Buddha wins this bet, is quite literally related to the phrase "one with the universe".
The Buddha's sense of enlightement is so absolute it is infinite, just as the universe is infinite, therefore it was impossible for the Monkey to leap out of his hand, since no matter how far he goes, he will still be in the universe, and as the Buddha's presence is one with the universe, he'll always be there.
The Buddha, like all humans had to go through the cycle of life and death, Samsara for many times. For 500 lives he had been through, and he had finally matured and was finally free from Samsara by being enlightened and realizing Nirvana.
Gods, devils, men, they are all still trapped in the bondage of samsara. But the Buddha is free from the maya(illusion) of reality.
Nope, he's just the world's greatest hustler.
@@bryanwong5250 I think the correct way to say is that Buddha did not go through cycles of life and death. It was the bodhisattva (who attained Buddhahood).

Even if Buddha were to fight with Sun Wukong for 300 rounds, I am sure he could easily win. It is just that he chooses to teach Wu Kong, an immature brat, rather than challenge him directly. The Great Buddha is a compassionate being who values peace over violence.
jealousy ? hatred ? intolerant ? disrespect ?
No one but all the same time
in written story sun wukong jump more than a hundred times with his Quntow cloud until himself feeling tired and land, but still in the palm. he see mountains like fingers and did not realize it was a buddha's palm
This is one of a good adaptation series.
For me this 2010 version of Sun Wukong is the best version. I saw the whole series! Loved it!
Shaifuddin Sabri My mom favors the 1986 version but the best i've seen was "Journey to the West Conquering The Demons".
Agree!
2011 version for me betta
Xiao Ling Tong Liu are the real legend of Monkey King, no one can play better than him.
The position of the writing went to index finger when the monkey king originally wrote it in the middle finger lol
Chinese have changed the main concepts of Buddhism soooo much.
I think different sects of Buddhism are quite different.
no we havent..........................
this story is from a fantasy novel frm tbe Ming Dynasty which world is based on the native Taoist pantheon mixed with Indian Buddhist figures and doesn’t reflect how Buddhist sects in China view Buddhism or it’s actual philosophical aspect, the representation of Taoist is also inaccurate but still a good story. don’t go around talking about something you don’t know
Where can I this version (over 60 episodes) with English subtitle ? The English subtitle for this Journey to the West is no longer on youtube.
In the first century A.D., Buddhism has been introduced to China, has been developed in China for two thousand years, so it must be very different from Indian Buddhism, in addition, ancient Chinese Buddhism is largely derived from Central Asian missionary and Tibetan Buddhism, so it has also absorbed different styles , and the Buddhist thought developed in China is in the same position as Confucius and Taoism, and has a profound impact on East Asia
And so, no matter how far Wu Kong flys, Buddha's hand or palm will always "outgrow" his silouhette's or would always seem bigger or huger to Wukong, like a tiny fly/mosquitoe trapped in King Kong's palm/hand.
The story is telling you about the heart sutra, emptiness is form, form is emptiness. That is why when you are not enlightened, there seems to be a limit. But when you are enlighten, everything is the same. Because you can transcend the limit
This is Vietnam of the Buddha and my mom and dad watched this
If u check in the view of theravada buddhism, there's no my lord buddha in the world becoz he has been escaping in life ☸❤
Yeah... Sun Wukong is laughing for 500 years under the Buddha's palm
BUDDHA IS UNIVERSE.......UNIVERSE IS BUDDHA🙏
And all of that will destruct one day and respond again and again according to Lord Buddha.
No
One can be reminded of Arya Nagarjuna's "goer, going and place of going" Sunyata (this is a fancy Sanskrit word for "Emptyness") "thought problem." In essence it is all illusion, only samsara seemingly moves, like the reflection of the moon in water, and according to Guru Padmasambava (and many countless Buddhas) Buddhas too are like the reflection of the moon in water...and are without form, even the 6th Patriarch, Hui-Nen, said "in the state of Djyanna, there cannot be any tangeable showing."
In overall, the Buddha rocks!!!XD
Older brother outsmarted that time.
budddha is beyond the reach of humans his power is infinite..................
the metaphor or the image here, is that Wu Kong is like an insect in Buddha's palm or hand and can never get out of it. Why? Because it's (Buddha's palm) can grow limitlessly.

Journey to the wast is changed to a romantic love’s story in China. Every version shows different things, which are not the traditional story ,feels like we ask cats to love fishes , and we can make them have a wonderful life in the future .
the 1996 version is the best !!

1986 is better
1986 is the best
This version is the best. It is the most accurate to the book. 📚
1986
Yeah, I did end up watching more just for the heck of it. Surprisingly, it grew on me. 2010 went deeper into character analysis and growth, which was very interesting. And also, I found it pretty hilarious :)
So... still not as good as the old one (will there ever be one as good as the original?) but then again...definitely not as bad as I expected from watching just this clip. On a scale of 1-10? Hmm....maybe a 6.5 or 7.
What a realistic Buddha although I never saw real Buddha....
We, Japanese call the monkey, 悟空 - Goku, or 孫悟空 - Son Goku.
But it was written 孫行者 in the Chinese book, how do you pronounce in Chinese?
Greetings from Tokyo, Japan.
Sun xing zhe, that's how u pronounce the word
gsextreme27 Thank you very much for your time.
孫悟空 is the real name, 孫行者 is probably the monkey just referring himself as the traveler
@आदि राजपूत both are totally different characters.....none relation to one another
Goku is cartoon not real, before you dead you know
The old version is better (-:
No, just kidding... actually the old version IS better but even the old version was nothing like the book. Why can't they ever do a movie version that stays true to the book? If it is possible to do a movie version of Lord of the Rings that's true to the book, why isn't it possible doing the same with Journey to the west?

It's not for lack of trying. It feels like there are hundreds of adaptations of the story. Yet nothing as epic as what I imagined when I read the book. Mind you, the book is so old, that it has its own problems. A lot of repetition for example. Avoiding repetition has become a rule of writing for a reason.
books and film are two different media. Some things will not naturally translate from one to the other. Even for the LOTR films, certain things were changed from the book.
This version is the most accurate.

so just think about it logically, how can anyone or someone possibly escape something that's without limits or as big as the Universe , right? Unless he is the sky (Buddha), no? 18 K meters = not even close to the Universe's dimensions, yes?

It’s not easy for Rulai Buddha to beat Monkey King if Monkey King simply charges in and swings his magic staff. So he has to trick Monkey King into jumping onto his hand, so he can use the “five finger mountain” to bury Monkey King in a swift way.
but why is buddha so large. siddhartha gautama was a human. so this is an illusion
Ru Lai Buddha can still beat monkey king tho
Oh yeah, that’s for sure! Monkey King is not going to beat the head of the “west” gods. But the fight probably won’t be as trivial or spectacular (depends on how you see it) as it had turned out.
This clip part is fake. Any of Lord Buddha never punished anyone. According to this clip sun must be trapped because of his bad past actions and thoughts.
