    A sip of good coffee will definitely help me in my creativity, I will appreciate it very much, thank you.
    Welcome everyone on my channel.
    In today's video I will show you how to increase the capacity of your luggage by replacing side cases. I chose SHAD cases, this is the SH35 model and, as the number says, they have a capacity of 35 liters (the original Kawasaki cases have a capacity of 28 liters). SHAD cases have a very simple mounting system called 3P (3 point mount) and are very easy to install. If you are interested, please watch the video.
    Take care.
    If you like my channel and my videos, you can make a donation using the super thanks button located bellow the video.
    I would really appreciate it, thanks.

    Witam. Życzę dużo ciekawych wypraw, tyle wyjazdów i powrotów. Pozdrawiam.

    Hi Andy. Thank you for your video, always great. I opted for Shad luggage for my Versys 2015 instead of Kawasaki's. So, it's been 9 years (I don't like changing bikes much, especially when it suits me well) that I've been using these cases with the 48-liter top case. I've gone from scorching heat to rain to hail... and I've never had a single drop of water inside. The set is sturdy and durable. So much so that my son steals them to put on his bike when he goes for a ride. You made an excellent choice, much cheaper than the Kawasaki set. Like you, I regret the color; my bike is orange... but I'm going to steal your idea. Safe travels.

      thanks for this comment, I was a bit worried that these cases would leak, that little seal inside doesn't look trustworthy. But since you've been using it for 9 years and it's always been dry, it calmed me down a bit. Thanks

    Nice video Andy. I was running these very same panniers for 3 years on my NC750, before I upgraded to Versys 1000. Nice and waterproof panniers. Not a single drop of a water inside and i was riding in torrential rain in Germany for 8h. BUT, i couldn't get in my modular helmet, while in the Versys OEM panniers, helmet fit nicely. And for my travel 28l x 2 is ok as well.
    Regards

    Looks good considering that's the first time you've used vinyl wrap. It's harder than it looks, the key is working it carefully with heat and stretching over the curves, but it's very tricky across multiple curves. Even the pro's hate working on motorbike fairings as the curves are so much more complicated than car bodies, but those little panels came up nicely :)

    Good video, wish it had been posted a few weeks ago before I purchased my Versys, I would have considered buying a bike without the cases and doing this.
    But for now I will see how we get on with the Kawasaki cases, we are going on our first tour on the Versys in a few days time.

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Місяць тому

      I also wish someone had made a video like this sooner, and for the same reasons. You can always buy shad or other cases and put the originals in the closet and wait for the motorcycle to be sold, then you will have a motorcycle for sale with brand new cases. Or you can just sell them, there will definitely be a buyer. Take care..

  • @PAUL-yv2kk

    I agree 100pc, the oem side cases put style before function, and I don't find it as easy to put them on and off as they're supposed to be. That solution looks strong and looks just as good imho. Decent colour match from the green film too...I'd be happy with that Andy 👍

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Місяць тому +2

      Thanks Paul, but I think you know me well enough to know that if the color doesn't match, I can't sleep;-).... But seriously, it turns out that the cover of the top case doesn't match the color of the motorcycle either, it's much darker , so one fine day I will repaint all three elements and then I will be able to sleep peacefully. Cheers...

    I also remade Shad brackets but more radical than you. That part which is connected with pegs I cut down to change all the bottom part to put the original decorative plates back. It was necessary to connect everything again with two bolts like it is in orignal.

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Місяць тому

      Hi, thanks 🙂 Today I will be recording new material in the garage about SHAD cases because there are many questions about it, so I will definitely record whether a helmet can fit there. I was considering SH36 cases, but SH35 are visually nicer in my opinion and fit the motorcycle better, 1 liter of capacity will not make much of a difference. Take care.

    Hi Andy. The panniers look ok but i think maybe a bit too much green, certainly from behind, maybe put some country flags on the green on the back of the pannier like you have on the kawaski ones. It would break the green up a bit, but i think painting them with the correct kawasaki colour would be better. I have the standard ones on mine but with bigger bags that fill the whole pannier. I keep thinking about fitting some top loading panniers on mine, i find loading them easier from the top but i only use the panniers for holidays so i dont like having the metal brackets fitted all the time.

    Hi Andy,
    Excellent video!
    You didn't mention price (or I missed it?) for the Shad panniers. I know it depends on where you purchase them, but a conversion is available.
    Also, Could you maybe show the Big Versys with just the racks so we can see what it looks like without the panniers?

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  Місяць тому +1

      Hi, thanks. I didn't mention the price because I bought these cases about 10 months ago and they sat for quite a long time before I installed them. At that time (september 2023) I paid €295 for the SH35 cases set, plus 3P frames (each motorcycle has a different model) for €120 set and inner bags for €20 each, so the entire set was €455. The video shows what the frame looks like without a case (15:30), but if you really care about it, I will make a "shorts" vid this weekend and show the naked Versys with frames. take care.

      No need for the "short" unless you have nothing better to do. I was just curious, as I always ride without my panniers unless I'm traveling.

    • @MotoAndy

      siemka, nie, nie rozważałem tych kufrów z jednego powodu, czy większy kufer tym więcej gratów, a uwierz mi w 35 litrach jest już za dużo. SH38X mają jednak swoją zaletą a mianowicie są prawie że prostokątne w środku co dodatkowo zwiększa ich atrakcyjność. Co do wyglądu to nie wiem czy Versys jest odpowiednim kandydatem to tych kufrów.
