Thanks! I think Allied Fires is the last deck I'm doing but I'm hoping to post these much faster than my usual upload schedule, so it should be coming soon! :)
Probably Grim Initiate or Unchained Berserker. If you keep Cavalcade of Calamity in the deck then Forbidden Friendship works great as well since it gives you 2 ways to trigger the enchantment. :)
Hey man Ive been playing with this deck and ive done pretty well so far without the upgrades but I'm deffs Gunna try it theory out and see what happens. Also I was wondering if I should MIix this deck with black if that's a good move or not let me know
I actually recorded a video with a red/black aggro deck and it's going to be the next video I post (this weekend, probably.) I don't think it's necessary to convert this deck into a Rakdos deck, but you do get some pretty great cards - like Judith and Dreadhorde Butcher.
Can you explain what benefit Chandra would have remaining in this deck? It seems that she wouldn’t be that useful other than being used to recast light up the stage and that seems pretty situational. Do you think there’d be any better choice to use to replace Chandra?
It's still really useful because it doesn't die to board sweepers. Deafening Clarion and Shatter the Sky will usually just straight-up win the game against mono-red, but with Chandra we can keep pushing damage even if our board is wiped. Plus the tokens make it much easier to power out Embercleaves. :)
Can you use Chandra to cast the stomp version of Boencrusher Giant, if it is in the graveyard, and have it then go into exile where you can summon the giant again?
It's good against decks with lots of spot removal. The biggest problem with aggro decks is you can run out of gas before the opponent is dead, and it becomes impossible to win, but Satyr's Cunning gives you a constant stream of tokens to hopefully win the game with. Admittedly, the card is a little less good without Cavalcade of Calamity, but it's still decent against black decks.
Torbran in last year’s red deck would be pretty strong. Which is why imma try slapping at least 2 of him in it. I’ll try ;-; Legit it turns Goblin Chain whirler into a flipping boardwipe.
I have another question for you. For some reason, I like to put 4x Shock in my deck because even though I would like to use Fry and Redcap Melee instead, I couldn't find them at my LGS. The reason I use shock is to get rid of Brineborn Cutthroats before it gets too many counters. Do you think shock is fine?
I also made a decklist (I mostly play against Simic Flash decks) Here it is: Creatures (25 Cards): 3x Anax, Hardened in the Forge 3x Bonecrusher giant 2x Chandra’s Pyreling 2x Chandra’s Spitfire 4x Fervent Champion 3x Runaway Steam-Kin 4x Scorch Spitter 2x Tin Street Dodger 2x Torbran, Thane of Red Fell Other spells (14 Cards): 4x Cavalcade of Calamity 2x Chandra, Acolyte of Flame 1x Embercleave 2x Fry 3x Light up the stage 2x Shock Lands (21 Cards): 3x Castle Embereth 18x Mountain Sideboard (15 Cards): 2x Experimental Frenzy 3x Satyr’s Cunning 2x Lava Coil 2x Redcap Melee 2x Scorching Dragonfire 2x Shock 2x Unchained Berserker 1x Volcanic Salvo ________________________ Could you give me tips on upgrading? Thank you so much!
Chandra's incinerator looks quite good in a mono-red aggro deck! Maybe print it out and make a fake version and try it out (Remember to tell the people you are playing with that you have a fake card in your deck :)
What about budget upgrade? Check this Emberclave for 1 tin street dodger Three torbrans for three anax All rimrock knights for four Chandra's spitfire Four bonecrusher giants for four torch courier One castle embereth for one chandra, acolyte of flames Sideboard Two shocks for two redcap meele All slaying fires for three scorching dragonfire All satyr's cunning for three bonecrusher giants Two shocks and two experimental frenzy for four unchained berserkers Decklist 4x fervent champion 4x scorch spitter 4x tin street dodger 4x torch courier 4x Chandra's spitfire 4x runaway Steam-kin 3x anax, hardened in forge 4x chandra, acolyte of flames 1x torbran, thane of red fell 4x cavalcade of calamity 4x light up the stage Lands 2x castle embereth 18x moutians Sideboard 2x redcap meele 3x scorching dragonfire 4x unchained berserker 3x bonecrusher giant 2x tibalt rakish instigator 1x experinental frenzy
Thanks a lot. Cant wait for Flash of ferocity my fav so far
Flash of Ferocity will be the next video! :)
These videos are the reason I enjoy Challenger Decks even though I don't really play standard outside Arena
I doubt I would play standard at all in Paper if not for these. I had a lot of fun playing Counter Surge before my LGS closed. :)
Nice Upgrade and good video! Im excited for the Allied fires Upgrade :)
Thanks! I think Allied Fires is the last deck I'm doing but I'm hoping to post these much faster than my usual upload schedule, so it should be coming soon! :)
if you want to play both anax and cavalcade what should you take out for anax? i mean he creates 1/1 which cavalcade works with.
Nice, I just opened this! Thanks for givin some advice on upgrading!
Happy to help! :)
Now I need to get this!
No no no, you need to get AALLLLL of them! :P
@@AffinityforMTG hahaha, I have final adventure and simic flash so far.
Is there a replacement for robber of the rich?
Probably Grim Initiate or Unchained Berserker. If you keep Cavalcade of Calamity in the deck then Forbidden Friendship works great as well since it gives you 2 ways to trigger the enchantment. :)
@@AffinityforMTG, Wouldn't Grim Initiate work much better with Cavalcade of Calamity?

Affinity for MTG I didn’t think of it that way! Good points 😁
Can you use Chandra to cast the stomp version of Boencrusher Giant, if it is in the graveyard, and have it then go into exile where you can summon the giant again?
Aaron Cattle chandras abilities can’t be used on adventure cards as they are seen only as creatures
Why is satyr's cunning good?

@@AffinityforMTG Ok cool that helped a lot. Thanks :D

Very cool and powerfull
Definitely! :D

I’ll try ;-;
Legit it turns Goblin Chain whirler into a flipping boardwipe.
Ooooh, Torbran and Chainwhirler sounds pretty good!
Awesome video thanks I'm going to subscribe.
Regarding 0:47
😄
👍👍👍
What should I do if I can't afford the second copy of Embercleave?
You can just skip that upgrade. Rimrock Knight is actually played in a lot of mono-red aggro decks so it's fine to keep in the deck. :)
@@AffinityforMTG, Thanks for replying once again! Could you please explain why Rimrock Knight is good? Is it Boulder Rush, or something else?
@@leoying8131 Well, a pump spell and creature in one body is fairly useful.. Also affordable price.
@@thedislikebutton3425 Thanks!
Do you think I should upgrade the deck even if I don't have the cards, or should I leave it as a cavalcade deck? I am not playing magic competitively.
If you aren't playing at Friday Night Magic it's probably fine as a Cavalcade deck. :)
Thanks for replying, Affinity for MTG!

The reason I use shock is to get rid of Brineborn Cutthroats before it gets too many counters. Do you think shock is fine?
Yeah, totally! Shock is played quite a bit in these mono-red decks, so it's absolutely fine. :)
@@AffinityforMTG Thanks!
Do you think we could add any Core 2021 cards to this deck?
Maybe! Chandra's Incinerator is either REALLY good or completely unplayable...but I think it might be REALLY good. :)
@@AffinityforMTG Thanks! I was also thinking of Chandra's Pyreling

Could you give me tips on upgrading? Thank you so much!
I'm relatively new to MTG so please don't judge if that deck is bad. Thanks.

I Upgraded it with a little Bit of Goblin swarm
Do you have a deck list?
OH HELL YEAH
Instead of shock they shouldve thrown in four copies of skewer the critics. Better aggro even if it is soon to change out of standard.

With 35$ u can upgrade this to a tier1 pioneer deck.
Probably! Do you have a list? I've admittedly be playing more modern lately and haven't been paying as much attention to Pioneer.
@@AffinityforMTG
Hmmmm sure... u can check that list on any meta webpage.
