Medium Format Color Development at a Campsite | Cinestill Cs41 2-Bath

- Processing color film yourself has taken on a weird sense of complexity. There's no reason for this. Come with me as I develop color C-41 film at a KOA campsite in New Mexico. The negatives were also scanned on-site with my EPSON V700 scanner.

Leia and I are full-time vehicle dwellers living and working from the road. I've chosen to remove all mid-episode adds from my current videos for a better viewing experience so we welcome your support in the form of tips for treat and whiskey money via Ko-Fi:

Episode Notes:
Chemicals used were Cinestills 2-bath Cs41 powder kit which has become my preferred (previously Arista C-41 Rapid liquid) due to the fact this kit seems to produce more uniform results across a wider range of film stocks. Also worth mentioning, powdered chemicals are essentially all I have access to for shipment via Amazon as we live full time from the road and liquid kits are restricted to residential addresses.
The water heater I use is a (currently unavailable) cheap Sous Vide cooker. The majority of dedicated film development water temperature controllers are essentially rebranded...and generally more expensive, Sous Vide cookers...in my opinion, of course. I've listed a similar heater to mine in the 'Tools' section below.
Film stocks from the episode included both in-date and expired (from 4-7 years) Kodak Ektar 100, Kodak Portra 160, and Kodak Portra 400.
Bar/brewery/restaurant was Kactus Brewery, Bernalillo, NM.

Thanks, Adam, for another video giving us insight into your photographic journey. I enjoyed your processing and your after process pizza and beer. Oh, and your color photos rock, too!
Thanks, Gilbert!
Unbelievable. Not just the blue crocs but blue labeled water, a blue water bag, and a blue sous vide. Who can get cooler than that?
And man - I hate to admit it but I like the Holgas. Really well done.
AHAHAHAHA! Man I'm ashamed to say I never noticed the across the board blue. I went through a phase back a few years ago where a lot of my stuff was orange. I'm not sure what that means....
And yeah, I think we've talked about it before but when you manage to nail focus with the 120Pan it's almost TOO good. Meaning it loses that Holga feel but somehow doesn't spice up the frame enough at the same time. Luckily I virtually never nail focus.... ::D
Pics turned out great, thanks for sharing, hope the travel is treating you well
Hey thanks a lot, Jacob. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Currently up in Maine at the moment so much of the photos from this episode feel particularly distant now.
