- This is how Islam Makhachev the current UFC lightweight Champion is recovering during his preparation for his upcoming title defense against the p4p number 1 and current featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski next month headlining UFC 284.
A couple of days ago there were reports about Khabib quitting MMA all together to focus on family and his non MMA related businesses, this is what Khabib has been doing in Dagestan after the announcement.
A couple months back I shared a community post about Kevin lee and that he converted to Islam, but there was never any announcement from Kevin himself until now, in this recent interview with Bret Okamoto from ESPN he officially announced it and shared some more details:
Why am I sharing this you may wonder? Because this makes every Muslim happy, and even if you are not Muslim you should be happy when seeing someone go towards religion because that’s exactly what the world needs these days, and you can see so many people actually breaking away from the brainwashing machine and going back to religion, because we all realized how cold and dark this world is without a higher purpose and without a traditional objective set of morals to guide the society, of course as a Muslim I believe Islam is objectively the truth, and even Christianity and Judaism before the books were changed by man but still it would make me happier if someone goes from atheism to belief even if it’s not Islam, no offence to any atheist because I respect everyone out there and I believe that there are good and bad people in every group but still I’d rather see people becoming Christians than atheists, because on the contrary to what the media and the powers that be were propagating in the last few decades religion is not or wasn’t the cause for every war or conflict but rather it is humans regardless of their creed, and if you want proof of that just look at the last couple of wars, they weren’t waged in the name of religion but rather in the name of spreading democracy, in the name of greed, capitalism and all the false ideologies that took over when religion was almost wiped out from the western world.

Just to clear things up more, Lee converted to islam in october 2021, so it's been more than a year and he never went public with it until now, this destroys those false assumptions of some toxic people who say he converted for money or clout.
They would wish they were in his place, when the Angel of Death appears before them.

I’m not a Muslim but Khabib and his crew, along with meeting Muslims throughout my life, has given me much respect and affection towards them. I think Daniel Cormier and Javier Mendez’s relationship with Khabib, Islam and other Muslim fighters has helped improve the image of Islam throughout the world to at least a small degree too, as it should be.
