    "What is a fugue? As in the word “fugitive”, it has to do with running away. At the beginning, a melody is heard alone; then a second melody comes running after it; then a third melody, and in some fugues a fourth and fifth as well. After everybody is in, the composer follows a set of standard procedures to complete the work. Although Mozart is not primarily famous for his fugues, this is one of the most epic ever written for solo keyboard. As structural and planned as it is, so is the Fantasy free and spontaneous: I imagine Mozart playing for himself in his off hours, with no obligation to write commissions for his patrons. It doesn’t sound like Mozart."
    This performance includes several revisions based on the existing manuscript of the fugue, such as the D minor chord in measure 8, the E minor chord in measure 10, and the last three notes of measure 41 into the downbeat of 42.
