Just surround your front lawn, backyard and roof with plants that can shoot peas and other food and water them regularly boom you're set for life, just remember to constantly replace your damaged wall and tall nuts don't forget to replace potato mines
Well technicaly some people can get the location with the time it was filmer and the angle of the shadows to get the Sun location. So just showing that clip wasnt wise.
I remember when the walking dead was my absolute favorite show, every day wherever I was going I would look at the buildings, houses, stores and try to determine whether they would be good for surviving zombie apocalypse
Another concern with fleeing in a vehicle is that the roads are likely to be very busy in a disaster time. With so many people fleeing, you are likely to get trapped. If you get surrounded by zombies during a traffic jam, you either get infected or die of thirst unless you can somehow move your car out of the situation (such as being on the lane next to the curb).
That's why I'm a big believer in making your current home as apocalypse proof as possible. Buy extras of things each time you go grocery shopping. Build up supply slowly so you don't go broke. I'm aiming for at least 12 months' supply of everything because in 12 months time, things generally find their level so you know what you need to replenish/update/discard. Being at home, safe, fed and watered is better than getting stuck on the roads in a car that's easily overpowered not only by the undead but by living humans as well. Never go out on the roads in your car, unless you know ahead of time (eg 2-3 days or more) that shit is coming. Then you can just drive on out of town to your secondary location and wait out the disaster there.
U see same but like...the moment u hear on the news about something going down (hopefully not near ur area) u and ur family split and some go for hardware store and the other for food) fill up cars with all the materials u can get and once ur back here (even if u own a firearm or not) in an apartment complex shooting is not ur best bet melee weapons are...so ask ur neighbors, people around u to join and start clearing buildings and fortify them and day after the other take one building at a time and u will end up having a community...within a years work u can close up 4-5 buildings with a wall around...that’s if each person that was in the building is helping u build up as well...
@@VeryProPlayerYesSir1122 u right not many will...but again u r in an apartment complex...so am I and there is many many people...they don’t have to be ur neighbors in the same building

Custos bugging in during the apocalypse is not ideal at all, marauders will eventually get to you.... best bet is to dip off and live in the woods, you could get lucky and find an abandoned house
Simple upgrades to make your house into a fortress 1. Steel doors instead of wooden doors 2. Steel bars on every window 3. Secure panic room with a good chunk of your supplies to outlast any horde 4. Add solar panels on the roof 5. Add rain collectors 6. Hidden crawlspaces incase someone gets inside and you can't get in your panic room
my first house growing up would have been perfect 💖 we were in LA and looking back it wass... ghetto 🤷♀️ but we had bars on the windows , my dad put in a steel door on our bedroom , had hidden guns, and gave me a bullet to play with and i always had inside my doll 😂😂
In the Post-Apocalyptic book series Blackout by Bobby Akart had his main characters last as long as they possibly could at their own home before they bugged out to a new location. And in a zombie book I read the guy survived by staying hunkered down quietly in his home until most of the zombie hoards had moved on to other areas and he'd have just a couple of dozen zombies to deal with in his escape rather than hundreds or thousands.
The fact that you’re watching this lowers your chance of survival. Not because you’re not prepared but because you think you are prepared even tho you’re not. Even if u already got the stuff it doesn’t matter if you’re not mentally prepared
The funniest part about the Idaho mountain bugout is most mountain towns are so rural to the point that if you lived 5+ miles away from a town, you literally wouldn't see a zombie because how small the population is. But at the same time there's multiple towns where you'd expect to only see a few stores but its jammed packed with good stuff because most people within 25 miles have to visit it for groceries once a week, so all of the gun stores, strip malls, schools, etc are all sitting in this miles Square where very few people live but it has a lot of stuff to take. Seriously if your a doomsday pepper just move to the mountains
The most reasonable prepping i've seen, was a family who had set up a private bunker in the mountains that would withstand even a nuclear warhead. They had an air filter that could be operated with a hand gear, if necessary. They were pretty well set up. They also had guns and lots of supplies, as well as survival training.
Here's an idea for another video: Is your country GOOD in a Zombie Apocalypse? And from my previous comment (Which I'm shocked to see the amount of feedback it got)... Are Oil Platforms GOOD in a Zombie Apocalypse?
As I've said in a previous video, what about a Historical Castle (Assuming that you live reasonably close to one that isn't a ruin). Since they are naturally rather defensible in both construction and terrain, many have an internal water source and there should be enough room to set up some kind of internal farm.
hm i dont think so historical casles will be well known. i would chose repourpoused mannor that has been transformed into a farm that is like 10 min walk away from me guranteed fuel, transportation, food/seed workable land, good visability since its surrounded by workland.
TL;DR: medieval style castles made for defense, lolnope, heating issues, no modern stuff so no cabling for floodlights to be able to see at night, and oftentimes barely any farming room. let alone no assurance that it's still structurally sound. for more modern style castles and manors, in more of an open area, those seem like better spots than the old 'castle on top of the mountain'. if you're in luck you can find a repurposed one which has been wired and better insulated, giving better survival chances in the winter and giving access to stuff like using solar panels etc for power (without having to also need a crapton of wiring etc), which you can then use for lighting, everyday comfort, creating other survival stuff, electric heater if the winter gets really harsh,... and you can be reasonably sure that they did some structural work. am not that sold on the idea. if the castle had been repurposed for current day stuff, yeah, it might work. but castles are notoriously bad in the winter, they cool down relatively easily and keeping them hot consumes tons of wood. which didn't matter cause the people living there were the rich peeps that just commanded peasants to gather wood for them xP defensive castles were oftentimes also not meant to be truly lived in/sustainable, they were meant for people to flee to, preferably bringing tons of food with them, so they can fend off attackers before rebuilding again. those castles NEEDED the surrounding people to be able to survive. and as for room to farm, i guess you are thinking of a courtyard of some sort, which can be relatively small for a lot of castles. as you said, they're rather defensible so are often in hard to reach spots, often high up on mountains etc, but in those spots you need to work with whatever room you have. these types of castles were made to be manned during wartimes etc purely for the defensive benefits, but more often than not, if the enemy had superior numbers, they'd just wait you out. you have limited food, a bunch of soldier, and barely any room to grow food. sure for 1 maybe 2 families the courtyard might be enough. but that doesn't solve the insulation issues and the fact that you have gone back hundreds of years in home technology. a better idea would be more remote manors, or repurposed castles that didn't have defensiveness as historical reason but were mostly built to show prestige. these types of manors and castles have often times been updated with better insulation, cabling,... so if they don't have any, steal some solar panels and wire them up and tada, you have more or less the best of both worlds. the added in-door space, lots of rooms for storage, machinery,... and cabling, light, insulation... to make life easier. those types of castles are also mostly built in nice and quiet spots, since these aren't the typical medieval defensive buildings, they're not on top of a mountain, but rather in the middle of a forest or in the middle of farmland. forest lower odds that someone that doesn't know the region will randomly find it, and give you hunting grounds and a good source of wood. while still have the option to rework some more open spots into farmground. the farmland types are mostly when the nobles living there commanded a relatively small area and thus had the immediate area around them used as farmland for sustenance and trading, if that land is still farmland, or later turned into farmland, then you probably have a farmer closeby with tons of materials to use for farming, and the wide open farmland will make it easy to see threats coming. and in neither of these situations, you're on top of some mountain, with barely any farmland to work with in your immediate environment, and having to walk a damn long path down the mountain till you find a decent stretch of workable land (obvi depends on the castle location)
@@luk4s56 you may be surprised. There are plenty of modern buildings, but there are also places in rural areas where older building designs have been used. Yes, it is possible to copy the old, especially decades back when building wasn't so expensive.
8:40 yeah like, “do we have everything to survive the fire”, “yes bag, food, water, clothes, ect”, “great let’s go”, “I need a moment”, “no time to moarn”, “No I need the time to pack our disaster survival bag”
The main reason why people don't even consider staying at home in case of a Doomsday scenario is the usual saying for critical situations: Fight or Flight. So obviously unless you are capable and willing to fight a Doomsday scenario (and let's just assume this is not feasible) the only option left for you is Fleeing. The fact that nature has a third survival strategy - Lay Low / Play dead is often overlooked.
I have a bow and a bunch of arrows in my house from my younger sister learning archery in her Katniss phase, a vegetable garden, a creek with fish in it, and I'm in a remote area with literally no one so I think ill be fine
@@colinschenck2129 Very true. You need to make your home either look uninviting /dangerous or dilapidated to the point where nobody would stop because they wouldn't believe you have anything of value in there.
The goal of this is to leave a reply of how you are prepared. Like: I have 6 months of food and water, weapons... blah blah blah and others rate your preparedness with 1 - 10... lol
@Intentional Living Journey just in case cuz if zombies sense you they’ll do anything to break in you don’t know zombies abilities they could be able to have super hearing, etc
Get a notebook so you can write down guess how much in supplies you would need to survive x amount (start with like a week or two) of time before you would be in trouble. Once that's complete, do a month, the two, and so on. Using that same method, find a place you know you can get too as a 2nd option.
I would like to say that I completely forgot about this until a week ago, their is no evidence pointing towards the fact that it is indeed the hut but while I was mountain biking on a trail north of Idaho city, I saw a hut across the valley that looked like it
The decision to bug out is done in two scenarios. The first being to avoid a foreseeable disaster, like a Hurricane. The second is when your primary location has been breached you can fall back to your secondary. Military uses similar tactics, when engaging in offensive operations they plan multiple locations to evacuate should the need to "bug out" occur.
I caught the tail end of the live stream, but I rewound it and watched it. You made some really good points, and I do agree with you. The people on the doomsday preppers give us real/realistic preppers a bad name. I really enjoy these videos and I look forward to more!
When looting a neighbourhood in the zombie apocalypse remember about security systems if the city still has power one alarm and you're zombie food Project zomboid depicts this very well
A lot of people dont live in houses and the ones that do may live in high density areas. This show is specifically for those who need to leave, although they do have some who stay. Its also pretty hard to fortify a lot of homes. A car can take out a chunk of most of them. There usually isnt a lot of storage space either and if your looking to garden you cant really use your yard. Tou can try to assimilate your neighbors places, but that can take time
Doomsday preppers: "I'm fortified at my home, and prepared to move out to my bug-out site, which is even more fortified." Quiet observer: *plans ambush on route to bug-out site* I mean, seriously, the period of time these folks are traveling is super vulnerable.
@@chukwudiilozue9171 usually a bug out location is basic. No refrigerator etc. Most short term and long term storage needs to be temp controlled. The only time you don't need to worry about the temperature is if you needed to start eating it as the temperature exposure would not spoil it before you ate it. That's also why this stuff isn't loaded in a "bugout" vehicle in advance, temperature control. It's also not a safe or responsibly place to store guns and ammo. These are just a few quick points that show the author of the video is not very thorough in his thinking about very basic and practical issues.
A good follow-up to this would be to run through some of the general house designs and locations (suburban ranch style/isolated cottage/city apt/etc) and review some basics of each to *make* them apocalypse-proof.
my dad used to always tell me to live out in the country side due to it being away from high population, if you want to survive something like this living out in the middle of no where is your best bet, and learning the basics that most people have forgotten is one of the smartest things to do, I myself am learning how to start fires and how to make crossbows and bows/arrows for if something like this happeneds I feel confident in myself that I know what to do, I'll likely get killed off by other people but it's a great plan. my dad also told me to not trust other people in these events due to people being unpredictable, at least with watching zombies around for some time you would understand if they have a goal or are just killing for fun, but with people you don't know if they are going to act nice and kill you in your sleep and take your stuff or kill you on the spot. so if you are going to do something like this to live in a world like that think to your self "do I have the knowledge and skill to pull it off?" if you believe you Don't start practicing and learning so you can say to your self "do I have the knowledge and the skill to pull it off?" and your answer is a positive yes
A huge problem with bugging out is that 90% of people have the same idea. So most likely you're going to get stuck in a traffic jam with a trailer full of supplies that looters will take either before or after a zombie horde murders the miles of people trapped in their cars.
I could just grab my stuff and go to the farm my family owns, there's guns, room, fields for farming, dolar energy, clean water, lake to fish from, hunting possibilities and an island we can retreat to in a bad situation, some looting possibilities for ammo guns and food, tools and materials and pretty much everything lmao
It depends of many reasons, because the level of protection may be higher but you have to take into account that you are not alone and many people lead to bad decisions.
Ive seen a few really cool apartment complexs that are gated so those I assume are good aslong as your neighbors are friendly and are willing to work together long term.
If you have the whole apartment complex on board and a park or field next door to grow crops in(and resuppliable water), then its it's great. As soon as any of those are missing its it's terrible. Of course if an apartment complex with let's say 500 okay preppers, the capability of growing enough crops, and plenty of water would be great. It's a compact farming village with an overwatch position. Just have a good fence and be able to board up the first 2 floors windows and a few guards at all hours.
Apartment walls tend to be pretty thin. Plus, well, lots of people. Plus, even if you live in a security building, a lot of people don't pull the door shut, let people in, etc. And... A lot of these secure building have front doors made of class...
So to recap this video titled "is your home good in an apocalypse", 2 minutes of yet another iteration of raid shadow legends being crammed down our throats, followed by 9 minutes of roasting some doomsday prepper, and ending it with "idk depends on the house lol"
Exactly. This guy isn't very smart. Its pretty obvious why they don't preload a vehicle full of food that needs to be temperature controlled for shelf life longevity. This is such a simple basic point its like the author of the video is to dumb to think of it or being intentionally deft. Also, not sure if he knows this but storing a large amount of guns and ammunition in a vehicle long term is not very responsible or smart to do. I mean really, every one of this guys points are extremely easy to rebut. Last point. If I was looking to join any group whether it was a doomsday group or the 24hr fitness down the street I would want a tour of the place to make sure I'm kit getting scammed or wasting my time. So it wasn't really about Ian there, I'm sure the people joining insisted on it if the group was deal in the first place lol, which I doubt honestly. Not to mention that in all the things in the last sequence this seems is wrong is that he takes them to his mountain hideout,m but has no problem with the guy giving them guns or access to his house etc. The author of this video just isn't very smart. I'm snubbing from him after this one.
@@scottwall8419 To be fair, the vehicle/trailer should be placed in a temperature controlled garage, or better yet, the vehicle/trailer itself should have the temperature control required. If you're going to be packing a lot of stuff that needs to be kept cool, you don't want to leave behind the cooling facilities. If showing the capabilities to reach the hideout safely is the final test, then a comparable dummy location would suffice. Afterwards, the 'graduates' could be shown the true location. At least you wouldn't be giving away your location to the rejects. Similarly, it was indeed rather unwise to give prospects access to the house and guns. Surely a dummy location would have been feasible there too.
@@SomeVagrant the food stores arent a product that need to be kept cool. They just can't be to cold or to hot. I believe the range is 40-70. Keeping the trailer in a temp controlled garage isn't possible for everyone. My point is mostly that this guys points arent that.....good. he doesnt tear the channels points down as good as he thinks.
"Most homes aren't safe" Me: laughs in steel doors and 12 rottweilers Edit: we re-homed a lot of our dogs so we only have 3, but having 3 war-hungry dogs is better than nothing.
i would say my house is 4-10 but location of where i live is definetly 10. two towns opposite directions v shape away from my town with no main road going anywhere near my small town. aging population with less than 100 ppl if everyone who visits were here. and there are like 4 locations that easily could be made into high number
Lukas Stasytis your location sounds legit, I’d start telling everyone in your town to stay close and work together to survive this coming apocalypse, then get connections with those other 2 towns so you have a network, your position is good, as for me I live in the dead center of a city with millions of people... planning on building a bug in location soon, just figuring out where to strategically buy some land
Lukas Stasytis start breaking everyone into groups, farmer, doctors/aids, watchers, scavengers, etc etc 3 well connected towns will be the best opportunity of surviving the apocalypse besides bunkers, home on island or mountains, marauders won’t have a chance against 3 towns with 100 people each, well unless they’re like the saviors from the walking dead... then your screwed my friend XD, but hey, what’s the likelihood of a group like the saviors even being formed in the apocalypse, and be near your area? In the apocalypse the average group of survivors will not drive no more than 50 out to look for supplies, because that would be a 100 mile drive total... and gas isn’t infinite, if your town can easily be cut off from main highways... I’d do it once you find out there’s no going back, IE dollar collapse, I’d block the roads off with cars, trees and junk, the apocalypse is going to happen, people can deny it all they want
Reminds me of "#Alive". A guy survived in his apartment for X amount of time. If he prepped at all, hell, grocery shopped weekly instead of monthly, he could have been much better off. By the midway point, all he had to drink was Alcohol, and all he had to eat was a few handfuls of granola. So YES, it DOES depend on how well you are prepped. Just prepping for real life, make sure your stocked up on all things that you need beforehand, don't wait till the last minute to restock the pantry. Go whenever you run out of something and stock up on what you are running low on at the same time. It's not even "doomsday prepping", it's just common sense. Fortifying and "doomsday prepping" can be an additional thing if you want, just doing BASIC ADULTING could go a long way in helping you survive in your home. And NO, you NEVER bug out of your home unless you absolutely, for whatever reason, have to. Early on, roads are gonna be packed, chaotic, stores are gonna be looted, it's gonna be chaos. Stay in your home and then, as a last resort, leave.
Everyone seems to bugout immediately in zombie shows. It never goes well. Shane and Laurie get stuck in a traffic jam with no food. Joel gets his daughter Sarah killed.
I think the only time you should possibly vacate your home is if your bug out location is actually more like a base of operations where you and your TEAM come together.
id disagree. id say if it cant be defended easily and well enough where itd be pointless and risky to bother staying there or if its ur literal last option or emergancy option where if you dont take it, ur stuck or ur dead.
The end of the video got me thinking, being able to accurately judge a home for it's survival potential would be a very useful skill in a zombie apocalypse.
Majority of those preppers in the show are in high density areas or high targets for acts of terror. So, in reality those in remote areas are better zone for staying at your home. I agree it is better to live a desired area rather than bug out.
A lot of people on doomsday preppers wanted to leave their homes but the highest rated preppers were the ones who had setup their home to hunker down in
@@ZMZreloaded you are right, I dont get why they build bunkers 2h away from their home. Building buner on your property have a big downside though. You cant move away becouse you have bunker there. Its high risk, high reward.
In Europe we have a distinct lack of ranged weapons from which to pick from however we have tall strong buildings that offer good protection from gunfire and zombies plus any ammunition is expensive and will run out eventually and walls are better than guns in most situations
Even in socialised Western Europe, you can join sports clubs and own several guns. Just remember to loose them in a boating accident before a national emergency, because then, the police will try to steal every registered gun for "public safety". Or look at Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, they have more guns per capita than the us. Or Eastern Europe, they learned from living under communism and have few gunlaws, even "shall issue" concealed carry.
I would love to hear your take on "dumbsday preppers." Suggestions for future places to review: lighthouses both on the shore and in the water; small rural communities; and some living museums such ad Mt. Vernon where they already have farms and are off the electrical grid.
A good idea is when crap does go down, destroy the stairs and have all your supplies upstairs. Also fill the bath with water. If the water is shut off at least you have some already to go. Use a ladder to climb up and down. Plus side is if the lower floor is breached you can retreat to the 1st floor and still survive. Another plus to staying at home is you know the layout and how much food you have. Bugging out to a new location means you will have to learn the layout and where things are. Home is second nature and lets not forget local knowledge as well. You will have an idea where to go to scav items.
poor decision. water decays all forms of material overtime. if its a hot day and the water warms up, some would turn into moisture getting into the walls dampening them becoming a corrosive and lethal to breath for a person if its in paint as it will cause mould as well as weaknening the wall structure and roof. let alone it would also contaminate the water ovetime just but temperature and how much stays in the bath and or sink. also destroying a staircase limits where u can go ur self and actually increases the risk for ur self. u now have to put in more effort to either avoid it or be careful of ur own safety, u waste far more time, ur likely never gonna have the equipment on hand to break stairs anyway considering how reinforced alot of stairs are and having supplies up stairs where a stair case is broken for easy transport trips makes things take far longer and more energy to deal with.
That tub of water is going to be needed to flush your toilet. Waste disposal will be a must holding out upstairs. Throwing it out your window just leaves a scent that there is someone alive there.
Somehow, everybody staying home and fortifying is the best way to give your government a chance to keep control of the situation. This way, you don't feed the hordes of the infectious.
I'm going to my bug out location. Its already stocked with food and ammo, close to water, far from anyone, and most importantly gives me a 360 view for miles with thick tree cover. So i can see you miles before you see me, if you ever see me. I just can't get that in my normal home. Thats the biggest issue with home, they are surrounded by people who if they chose to attack you will get you. No matter how much prep you do if people wsnt in, they will get in. Best to have no ome know where you are, and be able to defend it from long ranges or just go unnoticed alltogether
As someone who preps and has a secondary location at the ready. My lady and I, both have to work closer to a city. So instead of preparing the property (with animals, expensive gear and anything that would need maintenance aside from dry food and the monthly solar well maintenance). We have a trailer loaded and it takes us 40 minutes to get there in our BO vehicle. Not even my family knows the location of our property, off grid or....underground facility. The major downside is that it wouldn't have an established garden (even with plenty of stored food for 10+ for a long time) it may take two vehicles with trailers to get the animals. Long term, worth it. Short term. Possible pucker factor if you are late to the evacuate.
Wrong. People can climb trees/use ladders and ropes to get over fences or walls. Or simple scale them or knock them down. There's infinite exit/entry points to guard
Here in Brazil, houses are built to be small forts. We've high walls made with bricks and thickened with a layer of concrete on booth sides, all around the house. Heavy iron gates, usually fully closed. Like, you can't see through it. BUT There's a catch: Houses are WAY too close from each other. Wall to wall, actually. The neybour can just put a ladder on his side of the wall and jump it. That's why some people fill the top of the walls with shattered bottle glasses, iron spikes and stuff like that.
If there is some apocalyptic event that renders all laws void and someone does get rejected, who’s stopping Ray from just flat out killing the rejects? They can’t spoil your hideout location if they’re dead.
I think a solid multi-story apartment block is a good option. If you have a solid entrance door (e.g. metal) and a high ground floor, you can survive for a long time. You can collect rainwater and plant crops on the roof and on balconies (unless it's winter).
Depends on the house. Because some houses are better suited for this sort of scenario than other houses. Some houses are in a good enough location for long-term survival, while others wouldn't last the first 5 minutes of the apocalypse.(edit: because either it's an old house, or it's near a possible infected zone, or otherwise is very dependent on limited resources like electricity)
I live in a 4,400SQ 2 story house on a extremely unused back road other than people who live on it and we own 12 acres of land and our house is surrounded by woods and sits very far back from the road. We have a huge back yard completely fenced in with blueberry bushes grape vines apple trees pear trees peach trees cherry trees. We also have 2 big sheds that store our small tractors lawn movers lumber 1 ton pallets of pellets and 1 ton pallets of miracle grow PVC piping and many other things like that. We have a 2 car garage that is heated. We have a entire panty aka storage room with shelf’s around all the walls and tons of storage containers in the room and also freezers in the room that all are stock full of food anything from canned to frozen to literally anything you could think of. We have a gun safe with over 30 guns shotguns rifles pistols and a entire second safe just filled with ammo. We also have. 2 ton bank safe. Yes a 2 ton bank safe. When we built the house after the foundation was poured before we even framed it a 2 ton bank safe was set in lol. I want you to read this and based just off of this info give me a estimate of how long you think we could survive. None of these things we have are in prep for a zombie apocalypse or really any apocalypse to us it’s just common living but it seems pretty well set up after watching a lot of your vids
And tell all their friends and family..then they could tell others.. possible never ending tail spin. True preppers would never reveal where they are going or what they have. Makes them big targets from the entire area. Towns people know what they have and can follow them with a group bigger then the one they have
"If you're worried about living in a city, just move!" You should know that it isn't that simple. Some people don't have the funds to just pack up and go, some people have a job in the city, and leaving would put them too far away from that job. "Just move" really isn't a good argument against bugging out. While I agree that Ray and his wife are dumb for showing people their bug out location, and not having equipment already in their bug out vehicle, simply moving to a remote location would be a massive inconvenience for every day life, and would probably affect his wife's ability to get to work.
If you have enough money to have a second property- you have the money to move out of the city. He’s not talking about people who don’t have the means to move. He’s talking about the people on the show
They might have the money because of their jobs which they have because of their central location. There is nothing wrong with preparing for the worst without revolving your life around a scenario that likely wont even happen.
I haven't seen anyone else suggest this yet so...What about going to an Abby or Monastery? They are usually made of solid stone and have some type or barrier, such as an iron gate or high wall, for defense. They often have a garden area. They are usually on the outskirts of town so the high population/hot-spot factor won't be to bad. If the previous inhabitants are still around they are very likely to be morally obligated to let you in (maybe provided you work). If there is an Abby or Monastery in the area there is likely a good Catholic presence, meaning, the hot-spot factor of people coming to these places are probably also Catholic making an immediate cultural connection thus allowing for a larger group of people to congregate and work together for survival with a reduced risk of in fighting. It is likely that the nuns/monks will instantly become the de-facto government (provided they are present) helping to reduce group fracturing. It may be possible to contact other holy orders/churches (if no nuns/monks are present, use a phone book) and organize a greater survival network. A serious con in a zombie survival, however, is that most orders of monks and nuns are not likely to have any weapons on the property and, if nuns and monks are present, may prohibit you from bringing your own weapons inside. Knowing this, a spunky group of raiders may randomly remember some very specific details regarding vikings in England.
Im a huge fan of your zombie survival video's i would like to see more of this kind of video's pleas make one about a bank or a farm of even an underground missel silo that would be great 🤩🤩🤩🤩
The closer you are to other people the chances of having issues with other people exponentially goes up as time goes on. Unless you are Brendan Fraser and have a fully stocked and operable bunker where you live, humans will be your highest threat even during a zombie apocalypse and thus necessitates that you "bug out". For most people, the most favorable location for survival is the middle of nowhere but this is not favorable for being close to jobs or family/friends in the real world.
Homeless people: Am i a joke to you
Nope, homeless people are most likely to survive.
Homeless people: used to a difficult life and not tied down to anything. They could probably end up taking over a house or something.

@audrablue515 Grow plants in your backyard, too. Watermelon is important, it tastes amazing, and grows fast
I live in California. Roads are for being parked with the engine running at the best of times. "Jammed" is normal.
When you live in an apartment, then it's like surviving in a hotel. You don't know if the rooms next door and the floors above and below are infected.

6. Hidden crawlspaces incase someone gets inside and you can't get in your panic room

As I've said in a previous video, what about a Historical Castle (Assuming that you live reasonably close to one that isn't a ruin). Since they are naturally rather defensible in both construction and terrain, many have an internal water source and there should be enough room to set up some kind of internal farm.
A friend lives in one. It's great.
hm i dont think so historical casles will be well known.
i would chose repourpoused mannor that has been transformed into a farm that is like 10 min walk away from me guranteed fuel, transportation, food/seed workable land, good visability since its surrounded by workland.
TL;DR: medieval style castles made for defense, lolnope, heating issues, no modern stuff so no cabling for floodlights to be able to see at night, and oftentimes barely any farming room. let alone no assurance that it's still structurally sound.
for more modern style castles and manors, in more of an open area, those seem like better spots than the old 'castle on top of the mountain'. if you're in luck you can find a repurposed one which has been wired and better insulated, giving better survival chances in the winter and giving access to stuff like using solar panels etc for power (without having to also need a crapton of wiring etc), which you can then use for lighting, everyday comfort, creating other survival stuff, electric heater if the winter gets really harsh,... and you can be reasonably sure that they did some structural work.
am not that sold on the idea. if the castle had been repurposed for current day stuff, yeah, it might work. but castles are notoriously bad in the winter, they cool down relatively easily and keeping them hot consumes tons of wood. which didn't matter cause the people living there were the rich peeps that just commanded peasants to gather wood for them xP
defensive castles were oftentimes also not meant to be truly lived in/sustainable, they were meant for people to flee to, preferably bringing tons of food with them, so they can fend off attackers before rebuilding again. those castles NEEDED the surrounding people to be able to survive.
and as for room to farm, i guess you are thinking of a courtyard of some sort, which can be relatively small for a lot of castles. as you said, they're rather defensible so are often in hard to reach spots, often high up on mountains etc, but in those spots you need to work with whatever room you have.
these types of castles were made to be manned during wartimes etc purely for the defensive benefits, but more often than not, if the enemy had superior numbers, they'd just wait you out. you have limited food, a bunch of soldier, and barely any room to grow food.
sure for 1 maybe 2 families the courtyard might be enough. but that doesn't solve the insulation issues and the fact that you have gone back hundreds of years in home technology.
a better idea would be more remote manors, or repurposed castles that didn't have defensiveness as historical reason but were mostly built to show prestige. these types of manors and castles have often times been updated with better insulation, cabling,... so if they don't have any, steal some solar panels and wire them up and tada, you have more or less the best of both worlds. the added in-door space, lots of rooms for storage, machinery,... and cabling, light, insulation... to make life easier.
those types of castles are also mostly built in nice and quiet spots, since these aren't the typical medieval defensive buildings, they're not on top of a mountain, but rather in the middle of a forest or in the middle of farmland.
forest lower odds that someone that doesn't know the region will randomly find it, and give you hunting grounds and a good source of wood. while still have the option to rework some more open spots into farmground.
the farmland types are mostly when the nobles living there commanded a relatively small area and thus had the immediate area around them used as farmland for sustenance and trading, if that land is still farmland, or later turned into farmland, then you probably have a farmer closeby with tons of materials to use for farming, and the wide open farmland will make it easy to see threats coming.
and in neither of these situations, you're on top of some mountain, with barely any farmland to work with in your immediate environment, and having to walk a damn long path down the mountain till you find a decent stretch of workable land (obvi depends on the castle location)
@@luk4s56 you may be surprised. There are plenty of modern buildings, but there are also places in rural areas where older building designs have been used. Yes, it is possible to copy the old, especially decades back when building wasn't so expensive.

@@sleepingbagmanstudios489 it's in the Hollywood

Tou can try to assimilate your neighbors places, but that can take time
Exactly. Cost is huge. Lots of people can't afford the ideal situation.

Also, why do they bring the food with them isntead of just keeping them there.
I am out in the farm and very rural.

I’m curious about how apartments would work or not?
After I clear out all of these pre-zombies, my apartment building will be safe for me...

My whole plan is to stay home for a few weeks until I'm low on food and then find a safer place to go
Reminds me of "#Alive".

You can buy your arsenal now
Me : living in Germany : /
In Europe we have a distinct lack of ranged weapons from which to pick from however we have tall strong buildings that offer good protection from gunfire and zombies plus any ammunition is expensive and will run out eventually and walls are better than guns in most situations
You can buy firearms in Germany too, takes some paperwork though
Even in socialised Western Europe, you can join sports clubs and own several guns.
Just remember to loose them in a boating accident before a national emergency, because then, the police will try to steal every registered gun for "public safety".
Or look at Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, they have more guns per capita than the us. Or Eastern Europe, they learned from living under communism and have few gunlaws, even "shall issue" concealed carry.
Oh, amen then there are 3D printed guns ..
@@pteppig 3D printed guns are a joke, they will explode in your face, dont do that shit.
I feel like the smart preppers aren’t on doomsday preppers bc in the show u have to show the world where ur going and what your going to do
I would love to hear your take on "dumbsday preppers."
Suggestions for future places to review: lighthouses both on the shore and in the water; small rural communities; and some living museums such ad Mt. Vernon where they already have farms and are off the electrical grid.
How do you survive against Raid Shadow Legends. They are everywhere
This is probably my favorite zombie related comment

The power of lockdown
Dude the fucking cdc has a fucking zombie apocalypse preparedness guide they know some shit we don't
During this pandemic, your home is the first place the WHO and CDC told us to be. So, this makes sense.
You should do :
Stadiums
Movie theaters
The white house
Military bases
Banks
*casually saving up to build a walled castle*
My house is like a fortress because of how the neighborhood is made, just two exists to guard
Wrong. People can climb trees/use ladders and ropes to get over fences or walls. Or simple scale them or knock them down. There's infinite exit/entry points to guard
Hey I'm sure it will be great video like rest of them !
Here in Brazil, houses are built to be small forts.
We've high walls made with bricks and thickened with a layer of concrete on booth sides, all around the house.
Heavy iron gates, usually fully closed. Like, you can't see through it.
BUT
There's a catch: Houses are WAY too close from each other.
Wall to wall, actually.
The neybour can just put a ladder on his side of the wall and jump it.
That's why some people fill the top of the walls with shattered bottle glasses, iron spikes and stuff like that.
It’s the same here in India
Steel roll down shutters, strong doors/ door frames/ red wood planks for reinforcement.
Most apartment doors I've seen aren't metal. Most places won't let you put one either.
@@firefly9838 I meant metal door at entrance, not flat.
So yeah, make some vids against Doomsday preps... I still remember "but your wrong"
I would instantly die if I stayed in my house because I have glass doors
Ray reminds me of what Will Smith said about the military in Men In Black.
I was waiting for that 1 important point, if they show them where it is in advance, can they trust them to not betray them?
And tell all their friends and family..then they could tell others.. possible never ending tail spin. True preppers would never reveal where they are going or what they have. Makes them big targets from the entire area. Towns people know what they have and can follow them with a group bigger then the one they have
"If you're worried about living in a city, just move!"
You should know that it isn't that simple.
He’s talking about the people on the show
This is doomsday. Everywhere is free game.
They might have the money because of their jobs which they have because of their central location. There is nothing wrong with preparing for the worst without revolving your life around a scenario that likely wont even happen.
Idk . How the fuck I got to this channel ? I watch true crime and workout information . But I like the channel .
I left in 2017, I'm living on a dead end at end of the line, farm, preps, security
what about caravan camps on Zapocalypse?
The thinking survivor's refuges: factories and labs.
Cemeteries. I bet you'd have the place all to yourself. More people would go to those place then you think
I don’t think my moms is going to hear me out with moving
Nice thing about living on a boat: My bugging out involves me getting to stay in my home! :p
And getting away from land to further protect yourself. If I lived near water, I would be all in on a house boat
Im a huge fan of your zombie survival video's i would like to see more of this kind of video's pleas make one about a bank or a farm of even an underground missel silo that would be great 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Those are good suggestions
The closer you are to other people the chances of having issues with other people exponentially goes up as time goes on. Unless you are Brendan Fraser and have a fully stocked and operable bunker where you live, humans will be your highest threat even during a zombie apocalypse and thus necessitates that you "bug out". For most people, the most favorable location for survival is the middle of nowhere but this is not favorable for being close to jobs or family/friends in the real world.
If it was the zombie apocalypse I would just live in a RV
The movie #Alive actually uses this approach to a zombie apocalypse.
Sweet Home does too sort of. Both are great movies.
