Love seeing and hearing all about your life in Scotland Cammy! My people came from Scotland and Ireland. This is all new to me and I love it. Your voice is music to my ears. Be comfortable with who you are. My accent would drive you nuts. Appalachian all the way. And that Barbra, what a hardhead!

I watch you usually on my Ipad2 with a headset but, as I told a pal of mine the other day, as an Englishman, I only manage to catch about 30% of what you are saying. Part of it is definitely the speed but the major chunk is your beautiful Ayrshire accent, which I do not question at all, being North Yorkshire born who finds local accents the best. I am pretty good at locating accents but yours is too raw for sure.
Anyway I was on my desktop ( with a great sound system with sub woofers) this afternoon when I switched to you recent video. To my big surprise I thought that my great sound system was responsible but no it was you adjusting your accent so that now I can almost understand 100% without to much straining ( I am 77 years old and the senses are slipping). I think that this effort by you is very smart. I would eventually have commented but someone beat me to it and for that I am grateful, especially as your sheep channel is awesome. Dale Farm with Joanna is my other one. To make sure your audience , if you want a larger one, can comprehend you without sacrificing your regionalism will go a long way to building a bigger audience (and make you some money). Especially appealing is you explaining what certain Ayrshire words mean in English. I think that besides your very talented sheep rearing skills that you are about to see a resurgence of people signing on. Good luck, I shall spread the word.
BTW I'm the one who sent you the Silly Wizard / Andy Stewart songs. I have a big Celtic collection on LP. After all I am 30% Irish/ Celtic anyway !!

Hi James. Thanks very much for the feedback!! I must admit I slipped a bit in my recent video and went back to my thick Ayrshire dialect. Head was distracted with my ewes aborting! I will focus on this in future videos and make myself more clear! Thanks for watching and keep the feedback coming!!

I ask why you don't sheer before lambing like we do in the states? They take up way less room before lambing and a lot less humidity in the shed. I live in a cold state where temps are often 0 degrees Fahrenheit or colder and they do well.

You already speak plenty clear. Your language, the Scots language is like a hearth fire, it's half of why I'm here.
Not understanding is THEIR problem not yours. You'd never ask that of someone with a really thick South of England accent, regardless of how ridiculous.

Question- do the wool brokers have an issue with the paint marks on the fleece?

    • @TheSheepGame

No. It will be well faded by clipping time and in reality, the wool is worth so little anyway it doesn't really matter if they did have an issue!

Please keep your speech as it is. Should you change someone genius will complain about your hairdo or manicure. The photography and editing keep your videos flowing.
Several years ago I was "babysitting" public school teenagers when one of the lovelies said, "Mrs. ____, Dibby give me the grain fanger." It translated into, "Debby made a rude gesture with her middle finger".
When you were in the shed I heard Barbara whispering to Eunice "As soon as that four-legged fatherless beast leaves let's rush the tall two-legger and bite his ankles."
    Best to you.

My brother in law spoke to his dog in Scottish. We all had to try to mimic the accent for the dog to understanding. It was hilarious, if we got the accent 'close' the dog would sit /come / go outside etc . If we were having difficulties with the accent the dog would just look at us. Bewildered. This was in New Zealand many years ago. 😂
