Very informative and creative. Mai hamesha plants coco peat me hi lagati hu. Mai aise hi apna potting mix banati hu. Ye zaroori nahi ki hum coco peat ko itna dhooye. Ye glue plants ko harm nahi karta..
Hi .. do u mix soil in the coco peat mix ? I m also trying to grow plants in soil less media but most of the nursery people advising me against it .. according to them without soil mixing plants ll not grow .. I m a beginner so do not ve experience about it .. can u share ur experience ..
Plants do much better if you add some soil in the mix because there are many micronutrients that you just cannot add artificially..
This is my soil mix:
Coco peat: 40 %
Local soil: 30%
Home made compost/ leaf mould compost/ Vermi compost : 20%
Perlite: 5%
Vermiculite: 5%
Perlite and vermiculite are quite helpful when making a soil less mix. Perlite helps with the soil compaction and drainage, while vermiculite helps maintain moisture in the soil.. I have had a positive experience with this mix. I deal with clay soil and my plants love this mix better. You will have to experiment a little with soil to coco peat ratio according to your local soil.. Best of luck👍🏻
