Looks like a handy piece of equipment however would only work if you stayed on level ground soon as you start tracking anywhere on uneven ground it would throw out your level.
Same as most 2D machine guidance systems, unless you have 3D then thats not an issue but its not often your grading on uneven ground as takes only a few seconds to get yourself situated
I've been interested in this system. What do you think of it so far. Is it quick enough for grading? Did you look at the trimble system compared to this?
I'm really liking it thus far. When I first looked into it the worst thing was the lack of videos and info online however upon talking to the rep and having a wee demonstration we ordered it straight away. There is a slight delay but its still fast enough to trim with, you'll find yourself doing a cut and then checking the grade with the idig system anyway which is what you'll see most of the trimble guys do too. The other thing I love is that its wireless and transferable between machines - we have two diggers so it makes sense and we also do alot of different work so we may be in amongst trees etc and have no risk of ripping off wires. And it takes less than two minuites to take off the machine at the end of the day although they are that discrete you could almost leave them on.
Matthew Sorensen I didn't look at the trimble system in depth, but from what I've seen this does everything that it does too at a lower cost. It does duel or single slope grades, tilt bucket/hitch angle, if you do drilling you can attach it to the auger to find plumb or a specific angle, and it also has a built in tape measure and height warning sensor if working under powerlines or restricted areas.
Yeah being able to swap it between my machines is the biggest factor that i am leaning towards. Plus being cheaper helps. Do you charge more p/h for it or is it more of a nice feature to have for yourself. (more attractive to clients) You're video is about the only vid that i have seen on this system so i will have to go see the local rep soon. Very interesting about the auger too.
Matthew Sorensen I don't personally charge more for it, definitely more attractive to clients but it cuts down on labour costs having a man on a laser staff when they could be doing other things, also use less marker paint becaus I don't have to go around writing heights on the ground because they can be seen on the screen and also cuts down on material wasteage from excavating too much
Can any of these systems work with an extendable arm setup
Hey how accurate is it doing a gravel raft final layer?
Great video 👏👏
System still holding out few years later. Would you still go this system or brand or something else
so if you had to dig 9000sqf area 4ft deep, how many times would you have to re-set 0?
Every single time the excavator tracks moved!

@@NZDIRT What is the purpose of the sensor in the cab? They are IMUs correct? So wouldn't the cab sensor be able to compensate for unlevel ground?
Is there any way you can add metal cages around the transmitter in the case of working on brush removal,or does this interfear with the signal?
You sure can, indeed, just can’t be fully enclosed
Great demo mate.
Nathan Vaughan cheers, I'll do a more quality detailed one soon
How is it grading with a laser for digging a ditch?
Works great, I have a video cutting a ditch
How much are we looking at for this setup?
12k

Nice system!
Looks good mate! Pretty easy. Can u change it to mm instead of cm?
New Zealand Earthmover not yet i did mention it. But to be honest it doesn't really cross my mind now even though i prefer mm
NZ DIRT yeah i guess u get used to it. Nice big screen with it! Be creaming it now lol
Affordable! $8-10k, I'll have two?
Was that sarcasm lol, if it was then yes in comparison to other systems out there it’s definitely classed as affordable in my books

Matthew Sorensen what country are you in?
very cool. how accurate is this ? 10mm?
Hi Steve, yes within 10mm accuracy
