Hello Dan there’s always something with older Fords. My mate’s got two 5 pots (one an ST500) and has replaced driveshafts on both so he’s a glutton for punishment! Haha. Got to keep 5 pots rolling for as long as possible mate.👍🏻
Shame it didn’t fix your problem wheel bearing will sort it I’m shore I read about them bolts in the end of the driveshafts they are one use only and I think it said 45nm then a 90 turn after I would have a check on them but great video as always 👍
Thanks buddy . Ye next job was a set of front wheel bearings . There was no play or droning . But s slight grumble of spinning wheel and holding the shock . The bearings were however hammered when removed . The shafts or bearings must been on way out when I purchased car . And they over tightened those stretch bolts it seems to take noise / play out . Like a temp fix. The new bearings and shafts make it a dream !! The wife’s using the car at the moment to now as bigger boot space for the pram . She said everyone is trying to race her 🤣🙄😜
nice clean install wounded the noise came back my heart sank for you pal,,,on the upside your oil catching skills are nearly level *JEDI* but a bit started dripping off the rim at the end
Just be careful with the driveshaft bolt as they are stretch bolts IE one hit wonders and they do snap! Ive changed mine so many times and the nearside is a nightmare to get out! where the offside shaft goes through the bearing carrier vibration can be caused by the engine mounts as any vibration through the engine will be felt through the steering via the carrier bearing! best of luck!
Thank you . It’s frustrating All I can do is describe is , it’s rotational sound . And consistent 🤷🏻♂️ picks up with speed . Really hope it’s a bearing now and sorted asap
@@boosted2000 There could be many things causing this and amongst them are the following, Yes a wheel bearing gone dry! A brake calliper sticking and causing the pads to not release from the dics! creating a drag on the wheel and of course the noise! You could have the dust shields rubbing on the disc or not set far enough away from the disc hence when cornering. I guess its trial and error!
@tracieoliver2307 thank you dust covers are good , I checked them . As had that issue previous on car . Not much left to check . I’ve rotated wheels Done shafts Swapped wheels Calipers are recently rebuilt . If it’s not this bearing I’m gonna scream lol
I had a noise issue that increased when I went over 60mph. It got worse over time. I had two seized calipers in the end, I changed them, then no noise, the problem you could be experiencing maybe completely different tho 🤔 🎉🎉
I just want it sorted :( Tbh it’s a high miles car , so the tlc is needed It’s just been a get in and foot down car lol Gotta be a dead bearing ! Shafts deffo where a factor tho
@boosted2000 Callipers can only do so many miles, so I'm told put the original wheels back on 19inch are show wheels running on elastic bands over time, they will destroy everything
@boosted2000 20s, my bad 🤭 I enjoyed the camera shots of your lastest car show professional 👌 magazine feature quality. I hope your bump and grid get better soon
Good install mate , i always get soaked in oil lol , that noise was on my car and it was my drivers wheel bearing caused by a loose driveshaft , your n/ s was loose u said ? Mine is on 137000 now 2 , they love v miles and v fuel lol ,, nice header tank looks smart ,, bloody old fords lol
Ye was loose and looked over tightened previous , looking at the washer . I don’t have a bearing puller so mates garages will do a new bearing for me Rather than a 2nd hand hub gamble . Hope it goes !! Misses needs the car for a stop gap see
@@boosted2000 I hated changing v bearing gotta pull v hub out with a puller horrible , they work loose and then rattle , my bolt had fallen out inside v wheel ffs hence buggered bearing , got to solder v dash up I need it back on road , well want it back on v road lol miss v 5 pot roar lol , 2nd hand hubs r no good take it from me I tried that avenue didn't last me v trip home ffs

Ohh mate !! I was fu@@ing gutted ! I’ll get the bearings done tommor ( let’s hope it’s that )
I had drive shaft failure after going on track at combe a fee years ago
Luckily these are still ok , just like jelly :(
Could been worse ! Must be the originals !! 138k nearly too
Hard life

I was lucky mine lasted 70,000 miles needing only 2 maf sensors in all that time.
Tbh it’s just shy now of 140k

That new one won’t last long so I would refurbish your old one as there a hell of a lot stronger like 👍🏻
There safe , don’t you worry ❤️✅
Wheel bearing
I hope now ☺️
