Well, Sonic is classified as low 2-C(Multi-Universal) tier character(if he is using his full power). For example tier 0 is an omnipotent and absolute being.
Super Sonic was able to beat Perfect Chaos and Solaris because he was powered up by the chaos emeralds. He can take down Eggman's robots easy, but taking down gods? No chaos emeralds and Sonic doesn't have a chance against any god-like characters. Perfect Dark Gaia is different from the others because he's powerful enough to hurt Super Sonic.
TheUltimateSucc - It is brilliant, although I quite like the Time Eater too. As a level it is vastly superior. I'm a huge fan of Perfect Chaos in Generations though
Frex Essie, Sonic Generations looks better because it was released in 2011, and Unleashed was released in 2008. But really, there shouldn't be too much of a difference since they're only about 3 years apart. I don't know.
I think if I'm not mistaken, this game and Sonic 3 are the only games where Sonic goes Super twice, both at the beginning and at the final boss battle!!!

Just going to go over my favorite moments in the video: Probably one of the greatest moments in Sonic History is @ 0:57 when the transformation is made Also, at 4:15 when sonic is breaking chip from Gaia's grip, notice that small white rim around sonic? That is the sound barrier being broken...and when he charges at gaias arm, he doubles his speed and charges straight into it. Just picture how fast super sonic is traveling to be able to break the grip of something millions of times bigger than he is...This boss battle is definitely the best one in a long time...
It wait just like five years to finally have this game on the Xbox 360, and another two years to finish it, because I lost the game and I remember that going to the boss battle of adbat was very difficult because to need to collect a lot off sun and moon medals, but when I finally get to this stage and beat the boss, I feel very happy because I was thinking "yes, I finally did it!!!" and even today I still remembering this as the most satisfactory boss fight I ever had, it's beautiful :')
With the exception of Zavok, screw the other members of the Deadly Six, Lyric, and whatever cheap junk that Eggman builds. They just don't make bosses like this big boy; Dark Gaia here. On the side note, I kinda liked Dark Gaia's design before he went Perfect.

Well Sonic 3 And Knuckles is a game most people (Including me) thinks is the best Classic Sonic game. That makes this best Modern Sonic game along with it’s other cool stuff. Like storytelling. Just like Sonic 3 And Knuckles.
There are a couple of reasons. First of all, you'd have to play both games together to get the whole story, because both versions have a bit of holes in them that only the other version fills. Secondly, I don't quite remember, but I believe I was referring to how the boss fight in the HD version made more sense to the actual story-line than the SD version did, simply because the cut-scene at the end fit more into what happened during that specific fight. Honestly, I made that comment so long ago, I don't even remember what I was talking about anymore.
I find it pretty boss (no pun intended) that while you were fighting on the outside of the shield, an epic battle was going on in the inside at the same time. Made everything seem much more alive and dynamic.
The PS3 version is more better that Super Sonic uses the rings to fill up his Life Gauge to Full needed more rings to stay alive better than the rings being drained. I love the modern sonic games because of 1. Since Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations let me collect the 7 chaos emeralds to go against the final boss of the game instead of collecting them in special stages. 2. In unleashed I like the Sonic boost and Sonic drift better than the drift use in Generations. 3. I wish I could play the Eggmanland stage as only Sonic not his werehog form. 4. Most of all collecting rings to using them to buy items at Hub world town stages from: Apotos to Eggmanland like food for Sonic to eat and level up his normal and werehog form, but his favorite food and mine is Chili dogs. 5. Going to all 7 Gaia Temples on earth from: Mazuri to Eggmanland.
The good thing about chip, is that he is one of the few sonic characters that is small, friendly, and not annoying like charmy, cream (cheese not that much), and OMOCHAO

If there are enough fans like us, the era we love will eventually be reborn. It worked for the Genesis fans, it could work for us. And not to worry. Seeing more positive faces (or usernames, really) in my inbox is always welcome. Talking to more people like you lifts my spirits up a lot. =)

@SmashingBanana Yeah, Metal Sonic from Heroes is the only Eggman mech final boss in the 3D games that I know of. Chaos was a Chao morphed by the Master Emerald into a borderline god. The Biolizard was technically a creation of Robotnik, though it was Eggman's grandfather, but it was an organic creation. Black Doom was an alien responsible for Shadow's creation. Solaris was an actual god, and Dark Gaia was a beast. At least Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles never get old :D

Sonic games really aren't meant to have stories lol! At least not the Sonic's I played back on Genesis. You saved a bunch of forest animals from a fat dude making machines, that's about all the motivation you needed back then. XD I loved Generations, it really took me back to the old days, and I am thankful for that. I hope for a Generations 2... Though I also loved Sonic Adventures, so hoping for a 3rd installment in that series as well.
