You can invest abroad and still enjoy life abroad. We need to find a healthy balance. Am building in Africa but am still travelling and enjoying my current life abroad. The only advise is, do not over do it. Most of Africa is not stable and therefore future is still bleak.
This kind of stories has been happening since 1906😢. Sending money to family members, friends to help in building project always ends up in fight and regrets. Ko worth e at all. It will drain one mentally and financially. Nobody can be trusted with money. Entitlement mentality of our people is something else.
Folks need to be strategic in their thinking before building back home. If you live abroad with kids born here, if you build back in Africa, would the kids be able or wanting to go back to inherit these if you pass away? It is advisable to buy where you are and when ready to go retire back home, sell and buy or build as you can manage the project easier.
My only regret was holding back from having kids first 5 years after marriage, just to finish building two flats for my family back home. Today, I'm happy and grateful to God i still have kids, though. I now have a property here in the West, living the soft life, travelling, and making sure i and my family here are living comfortably. That is when i now decide to build again in Lagos. Because the first property in Benin is a no no. 😂 Whatever you do, make sure you and your family are comfortable, have enough savings in your bank account here in the diaspora, and invest in your children's future, etc, before you face family problems. Because one thing I've learned over the years is that family wahala no dey ever finish 😂😂😂 na shoulder persin go take carry am, if e too heavy you, drop the load.
Aunty B. I see you. We face thesame problem with our property back home. Each time a renant pack out., we do big renovations. You can not even try to rent it out like that because, it will reduce the value of the house. A property back home will generate little or no money because a good amount of the rent goes to renovation. Lucky enough we got another property abroad.
Hello Sis B greetings, greetings nice show as always thank you. My people back home have been pushing me to build for a long time but I refused because I don’t trust anyone. If and when I am ready to have a property, I can always use a portion of my retirement savings to buy or build. Too many hungry hands and those want to show off with my money are plenty 😂😂😂.
This is so sad it happens all over the world I personally know someone who went through this with his family in Trinidad but sadly he suffered a heart attack and pied . But karma will knock on their door if they think they got away god will judge .

Only God knows how much that boy spent on that house , only for the sister to say such words…. Someone is helping you pay your children’s school fees, sent 1m to her husband, abeg what else does she want??? It will not pass bag and shoes.. its her own children that will do worse to her….
