Kung Fu and Martial Arts in VR

- This one was really fun to make. Included martial arts are Boxing, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do, Judo, Wrestling and some more. If you're reading this, I'd love to know any new kind of content you would like to see on the channel, it can be anything really. I'd really appreciate any feedback.
Also, some portions of the video have been sped up or slowed down to help sync with music or make moves more visible.
MODS:
I'm using the Hedge Knight Armour mod for arm protection: www.nexusmods.com/bladeandsor...
Song:
Glitch Rock-2762 - FruityAudio - Ігри
This was a fun one to make! (apart from the suplex where I missed my bed and almost hit my head lol)
P.S. a lot of the moves were shot in slow motion and sped up in editing.
I personally love this sort of highly skilled VR gameplay. It's like watching an awesome fighting scene from a movie
@@VAfurious7 Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed.
How can your arm armor block but mine just phases through
@@fishystick117 I am using the Hedge Knight armour mod that has plate armour for arms. Some hits still damage you though so I had to turn on invincibility.
Pretty entertaining. Now we need the actual video of you doing all this with your headset on especially with that suplex lolol.
People on the internet talking about how they fight irl be like
True lol
I know kung fu in vr but in irl I know simple self defense

@@supernovapa6766 still impressive.
"I'm by no means an expert..."
After that I knew that the video would be fun because when someone is just doing something for the pure joy, great moments can happen
The sequence from 1:17 to 1:27 Was absolutely badass, the backhand disarm, the pull back -> double punch leading to a wing chun left straight, the axe throw, and the absolute decimation of the last guy was just phenomenal.
This is genuinely one of the most fun videos I've seen of vr, props to you sir
Those words mean a lot! Thanks.
I love how you're actually using basic boxing. Hands up, slipping and weaving with body shots and everything. 10/10.
I tried to portray it as best as I could, thanks!
@@interestingameplay Guy literally just copied kamogawa's boxing style from hajime no ippo 😭or the tyson style if you haven't watched the anime, it derives of body blows and pretty much weaving from side to side, if he would've used the dempsey it would've been dope, but that's a bit harder to do and actually kinda shits on your abs and back muscles if you haven't trained those specific sides.
@@guywithnohouse.6808 dude said "anime" 💀💀
@@donteprice8859 🤷♂️ Don't see what you mean by that but it is an anime, a very very good portrayal of boxing too, downright pretty much realistic at least in the theory side of things, glancing over the exageratted scenes or fights ofc, but even those are adapted really well. I recommend you watch it to be honest! It's a nice ass ride.
@@interestingameplay Tried? Brother you succeeded!
0:28 if Ip Man played VR for the first time:
I do Muay Thai, Boxing, and Wing Chun, and I gotta say, as a martial artist myself, I'm impressed.

Proof
I don't do those I do wrestling and karate but yeah as a martial artist I'm impressed. If only you could kick
A Muay Thai vr game would genuinely be awesome.
I mean any vr game can be muay Thai game if you know how to do muay Thai or any other form. It's vr you can do anything🤣
Get a full morphsuit and you'll be cracking skulls with bone knives for days

As a life long mixed martial artists and student of almost all styles, this is legit. I would like to see you implement Krav Maga style which would work well with the multiple attackers plus weapons. I'm seriously impressed you can actually perform Osoto Gari on people in a video game like this. Let's see more!!!
Glad you liked it!
Krav maga actually works pretty good in blade and sorcery I used the dagger mega pack and it was pretty fun you can do a lot I’m blade and sorcery
@@theleanninja3959 I'll check it out!
I am a big fan of martial arts and while I love your humbleness about how you know next to nothing about these actual martial arts I will say has someone who has seen literal thousands of demonstrations of all of these things...
You did a terrific job of demonstrating the structural and technical differences of each and I can say with absolute certainty that I would recommend this to someone else for literal explanation purposes.
You did a terrific job.
Fax
Thank you : )
Wholesome good comment.
Is terrific a compliment?
@Your Mums Co-Worker noted.
the fact martial arts are so effective in blade and sorcery compared to most weapons
i love how you use a weapon in jet kune doo. like bruce lee always said "be like water" not forcing yourself to any kind of martial dogma, just you saw a weapon and the most efficient movement was to throw it to an enemy.
I think Wing Chun looks the most fun in vr. Overall really stylish video, looks really fun.
Holy shit your movements are so fluid, I’m actually so impressed, especially with the Boxing, Wing Chun and Wrestling bit
the amount of potential that blade and sorcery gets if you are good at it is insane
it just gets more fun as you play
you did these pretty well! loved the boxing weaving and the wing chun chain fist
The fact this can be done in game is so cool and makes me want to try it out!! Awesome video
There is actually a vr games where you fight different martial art which is one of my favorites vr games called Dragon Fist VR Kung Fu, it has kinda the same feeling as B & S but only using hand fight (well almost)
I've had that game on my mind for a bit. How the physics compared to blade and sorcery?
@@interestingameplay The physics is very different, it has had less time to be worked on and the fights interact much less with the environment, but are faster, more precise on the damage done, the possibility to choose a character and have a skill to use allows you to really specialize.
Personally I had a very fun experience, I got caught up in the game of copying certain movements and creating my own martial art, the game takes all its sense in maximum difficulty, where i had fights that literally lasted 10-15 minutes because I really took my time to analyze and plan my moves, you can quickly get caught up in the game and believe yourself to be a real master in martial arts, even if the fights end up becoming very linear because the opponents have a certain number of movements that they just repeat.
For me, this is the game that gave me the same feeling as B&S while being different, the game is much more in the delicacy, the analysis of the opponent and find a way to counter attack, which gives a very pleasant game experience (unless you just go BRRBRR BOUM BOUM style of gameplay, also known as I go for it headlong).
At the beginning, it may seem easier to go for it, but in max difficulty, a ko happens very quickly, I hope that in the future the game greatly improves the AI and offers a more real experience.
The fun potential is huge, especially with the shot management and the very worked cinematic side, the game just needs to be improved and can become an absolute classic in the future, even if for the moment very little known.
I 100 % recommend it if you wan't some fun
@@TheGromino great comment. Thanks for letting me know about it. When I (hopefully) get a VR headset, I'm going to check it out
@@TheGromino cool, thanks for the detailed analysis. I may check it out!
@@TheGromino It's sooooo clunky though. Idk why but blade and sorcery feels so much crisper and more static, whereas Dragonfist is super bulky and honestly pretty hard to fight with. Like, your hands sticking to enemies, stopping you from being able to slip through or beat away their guard.
Good video! I like how you actually show all styles and make it look funny and cool at same time.
as someone who does judo, that judo takedown was scarily accurate. this is an amazing video
Thanks!
I'm impressed by this a lot, I'm no expert, I'm just a dude admiring the mma fields. Especially with the JKD it's actually accurate in my surprise, suppose to be getting to target quick and using the necessary moves to counter attack, and the boxing aspect was really great since you utilized actual silps, blocks and some combos. All we need know is KICKS in VR, which would be actually be super cool if it tracks our feet, I do know about the full tracker vr, is just that I've never seen it EVER utilized in a VR Fighting Game
Thanks! Unfortunately full body tracking is still quiet expensive. This game however supports it for anyone who can afford it.
Looks like you had a real good time.
Loved the sways.
This is the most impressive thing I have ever seen in blade and sorcery, thank you for this video, it was fun to watch.
you must be a real marital artist I have never seen any vr user pull of those moves in this game. You definitely earned a like and sub this is the best gameplay I seen so far of blade and sorcery
This video was so badass, it was like a John wick and Batman style fighting
Martial arts are now just called batman style?😂
Are you sure you’re not an expert? These moves look really fluid, especially considering that hand to hand combat in B&S can be a little wonky sometimes.
Although I have trained some mma, i'm no expert haha. Glad you enjoyed!
@@interestingameplay how do you kick?
@@splicy7521 press in the left joystick
@Wik3dIsBroke even in slowmotion it usually leaves a jitter to the movement. Of course the game is a little slower than what's shown on the video, but that doesn't make this any less impressive.
@Wik3dIsBroke No one cares.
The wing chun and muay thai part is so good, if your a professional martial artist and you do some muay thai kicks here in this video, it will be satisfying. Keep up a good work lad👍!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed: )
despite not being an expert, you know your martial arts and their moves really well! i was extremely impressed with wing chun 😮
Thank you :)
Epic stuff! This makes me wish full body tracking was a VR standard so I could kick in B&S (watching the muay thai without kicks is like bread without butter).
You can technically kick by pressing in the left stick but it's not at all a replacement for body tracking, more like a watered down alternative
1:25 my jaw dropped. i had no idea you could perform an osotogari throw like this. it never occured to me because I didn't have foot tracking
Glad you liked it! It took some time to get used to but you can deliberately miss a kick and it will hit on the way back
@@interestingameplay crazy, I gotta try this once I figure out how to get my left controller to not lose tracking xD

This was honestly super sick wtf 🤣 I'm a long time martial artist myself and didn't know I could implement it in VR
0:33 is screaming in auto tune
Me: Time for some wing Chun in B&S!
Also me: scrapes and bloodies my knuckles on the wall while breaking my computer monitor
Fantastic work, that was some hard to get right code for this lol
Ur boxing was on point. Going for opens on body and hooks were almost perfect
Thanks!
The start of wrestling was wild, you are a god and the end of wing chun was so clean
What I loved about each martial art shown.
Boxing - The left hook to the body followed with left hook to the head
Wing Chun - Blocking outside swings then countering with iconic ip man flurry
Muay Thai - 12 to 6 downwards elbow (god knows what u would've done if there was leg tracking)
Jeet Kune Do - Fast and sharp jab to the body with lead backhand to the face
Judo - Inside arm grab with leg sweep and throw over shoulder.
Wrestling - SUPLEX CITY BABY
Glad you enjoyed!
@@interestingameplay The Muay Thai and Boxing was really great ngl, allthough I would say you overdid it with the backhand striking. Alot of Muay Thai is similar to boxing and the common fist strikes are jabs punches hooks and uppercuts. Backhand strikes are basically only used in a spinning manner where you use the backhand of which side your turning with. And instead o parrying every strike with your fist dodging would make it more immersive and cool but you can also close in and block their weapon arm by pushing away their handle and arm kinda like 0:51 and then elbow strike and or kick them.
I was on board till you blocked a sword swing with nothing but your leather gauntlets and the power of friendship. Gotta learn that Dempsey roll! Weave with your head, body low, Bob the knees!
If you look closely he actually is wearing splinted metal gauntlets.
1:41 the use of the kick as a leg sweep for the osoto gari-like throw was very nice
I really like how you did mixed, because it just really matches what would happen if you actually fought an mma fighter.❤
Keep up the good work brother!
I don’t ever comment on videos, have to say this shit was awesome haha. The muay thai definitely took a little more wing chun inspiration, if body tracking for kicks was available, it’d be top tier. My personal favorite was the wing chun, you made that shit deadly haha. The back hand to end it was what did it for me
Thank you!
This is pretty great though I'm impressed with how well you're getting armor blocking to work. I spent like 3 hours trying to replicate such things with no luck
Yea I have tried that too, I try to put armor on my wrists and block the swords but it literally just cuts right through my wrist. I don't know if its maybe a mod?
its def a mod, armor usually doesn't fully block attacks but it does reduce the damage
this is so fun to watch! I'm glad this video popped up in my recommendations because it reminded me that I have blade and sorcery and I should start playing it again because it's endless fun
Glad you enjoyed!
That was super fun man, I felt so powerful just from watching this video, you put a smile on my face while I go to work so thanks
Glad you enjoyed: )
Dangg you beat me to the punch! I wanted to make something like this too. I had a similar idea with Aikido and Wing Chun. Great video!
Glad you liked it, i'd love to see some aikido in B&S
This dude is so CLEAN with all fighting styles.
The Wing Chun one was actually pretty accurate for a non-expert. You got a new sub ! 🎉
This is actually a sick video, loved the Muay Thai and Wing Chun. You've earned a sub man!
Awesome, thank you!
Honestly I think it seems like a pretty cool way to practice martial arts alone and get some fun exercise and the only one who gets hurt is you when you inevitably smack your hand against something irl while doing all this.
Haha, loved the video! Too bad there are no legs in vr to pull off some kicks too
Oh hello haha, glad you like it!

I really love Wing Chun. It's such a unique style and its counters are so epic
Worthless in modern day though against a boxer or wrestler
@@tatemushroom1002 Why is that?
@@tatemushroom1002 Not true at all Anderson Silva is infamous for utilising Wing Chun into his style and using lots of trappinng moves
@@SoldieroftheImam313 but that’s Anderson Silva. The guy was like the top of the top in his day. Just because he can use it, doesn’t mean the next dude can. I am sure there are techniques and principles applicable that you could use, but you are better off learning something that is proven to be widely effective.
@@FlashmanJW Nah Wing Chun as a style itself is completely viable, the problem is trying to find the correct person to teach it. This is the problem with Wing Chun. Typically, Wing Chun is seen as bad because the people who teach it are ass. However, if you get a good sifu, you should be on par with a boxer of the same skill level and weight class.

This was awesome, are you using a mod or anything? Still a newbie on blade and sorcery but i swear I've only gotta fart on them and they ragdoll 😂😂😂
Glad you liked it! No mods except for the armour here. They usually ragdoll easily of you hit them in the face , head or legs so if I want to do combos, I focus on hitting the torso. Also if you use slowmo you hit harder so they also ragdoll easily.

I dont believe there is but im not sure
The Judo trip was crazy asf bro grabbed wrist and shoulder and THREW A KICK SO WHEN IT CAME BACK IT TRIPPED THEM crazy it’s at like 1:20
Epic. Still can't believe you managed to pull of Judo moves🤣
That wing chun gattling fist move got me 😆
I might try this out. Doing different kinds of unarmed combat sounds fun. Also do you have foot tracking. I saw you hooked someone's leg for one of the judo throws I cant tell if this was just foot tracking or a well placed kick input.
I believe it was just well placed kick inputs. Since he kicked forward before actually tackling his leg.
0:22 THATS A FAULT HOW DID THE REF NOT SEE THAT?
Shhh!
Basic execution concepts:
Boxing - guard is up most of the time
Judo - grabs and quick releases over wide throw ranges
Wing chun - quick chains of attacks consisting of many kicks and punches
Muay thai - utilization of the entire arm, not just the fist
Jeet kune do - enemy attack counter and distruption as well as a lot of versatile movement
Wrestiling - staggering and keeping opponent in range of grab into throw at vital points
THAT WAS AMAZING!
Asians be like:
This is awesome, wing chun remindes me of that one mortal kombat character with the razor hat
